Humans usually affect the population of other animals badly. Most species decline in number, get sick, hunted and eventually die/go extinct (think of apes, deer, wolves). However, there are animals who profit from humans, like pets, farm animals, rats and gulls, but also cockroaches, ants and other insects. Most bacteria also do well under human influence.

Wild animals, who can't be domesticated, are not influenced for the good by humans. Although we 'try' to protect them, humans do on the whole more harm than good.

The most deaths in World War II took place on the Eastern Front, where the Soviet Union battled against Nazi Germany. The battles of Stalingrad and Leningrad were particularly deadly, resulting in millions of casualties.

but in our imune system there are antibacteria fighting off disease and protecting us.
