Do universal 6 lug rims fit all 6 lug vehicles?

The definition of universal in this context usually means "any" so I would suppose so.

In the "car" world the universal 5-lug rims usually fit all 5-lug diameters for 4.5 to 5.5 inch diameter bolt patterns.

The only issue I see might be the diameter of the hub hole in the center of the wheel.

Personally, for a truck I'd use a wheel designed to fit the specific make of truck.

On a truck you don't want the weight to be supported solely by the lug bolts.

In the late 70s the 3/4-1 ton (8-lug) trucks all had the same bolt diameter but the hub diameters varied. I purchased 8x16.5 alloy wheels for my Chevy 3/4 ton HD (1-ton axles & springs on a 3/4 ton frame, not duals). Come to discover they were a universal "fit" wheel with a center hole large enough for the biggest diameter axles.

I was very lucky I didn't shear or bend my lug bolts when hauling 6000+ lbs. or when thrashing it through off road areas.

How do you adjust bands on a transmission?

you will need a transmission manual for the specifications. you will need an inch-pound torque wrench, which is about the size of a quarter inch ratchet. you will need a box wrench to fit the lock nut on the band adjuster.you have to loosen locknut, then screw the adjuster in till it is snug, then back out the adjuster the specified number of turns. most manuals have a torque spec to set the adjuster to. that is what the torque wrench is for. set torque then back off number of specified turns. then be sure to retighten lock nut.

You are looking to buy a 1976 Dodge pickup - truck has 440Ci engine and owner claims it is all wheel drive from factory - has anyone heard of awd on 1970's 4WD?

The owner is partially right, but also confused. The truck has what dodge refers to as "Full-Time Four Wheel Drive". this type is always engaged in 4wd and cannot be switched to 2wd like most 4wd systems. it differs from all wheel drive (awd) in that with full time 4wd you have independent gear selection, i.e. high and lo gears just like any other 4wd systems, awd doesn't offer this. i believe that awd systems have no transfer case either, meaning the only drive gears are in the transmission, making them in adequate for off roading. my dad had a 1974 dodge ramcharger for many years so i am very familiar with this system. the drawback to this system is horrible gas mileage, his used to average 8 miles to the gallon, however that was the 80's when it was not as much of a problem, however it was exceptional off road in ungodly mud. hope this helps.

Why does my O3 dodge common rail stall when coming to a stop and clutch is disengaged?

Possibly the fuel actuator. Its about $150 from cummins. The only way to be sure is with an electronic scan tool & monitor the actual vs. commanded fuel pressure.

How do you replace the weatherstripping in a 1983 ford truck?

If you want to replace the weatherstripping on a 1983 ford truck you can go to a professional or you can make it by yourself by following some useful steps. Clean the windshield with glass cleaner and paper towels to prevent dirt from getting into the new weatherstripping. Lift up each windshield wiper until it locks in place.

Remove the wiper blade nuts and washers with a wrench. Pull off the wiper arms and set aside. Put the weatherstripping removal tool between the windshield and the trim on the outside of the truck. Work the tool around the entire perimeter of the windshield. Press the new weatherstripping trim over the edge of the windshield using your thumb. Use the weatherstripping removal tool to push it in place.

How much would insurance cost for a 17-year old driver on a 1998 pickup?

Factors that go into determining auto insurance premiums include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

1. The age and gender of the primary driver;

2. The driving history of the promary driver and any other persons who have permission to drive the vehicle;

3. The primary location where the vehicle will be garaged (because sometimes insurance rates, which determine premiums, are sensitive to the zip-code level);

4. The make and model of the vehicle and how it is equipped;

5. The prospective insurer (rates, and therefore premiums, differ between and among insurers);

6. Whether the driver has successfully completed a driver's ed course;

7. The prospective insured's GPA, as some insurers give discounts for high GPA's;

8. The coverage(s) that will be obtained (for example, collision and comprehensive coverage will raise the overall premium--but having those coverage may be required or at least important);

9. Whether the same insurer insures other vehicles in the household, as sometimes multi-car discounts will be offered.

How do you adjust the idle on a 1998 Dodge diesel truck?

If it is and automatic transmission the idle will be at about 900 RPM and is not recommended to be adjusted but can be adjusted at the trottle position sensor (TPS) located just abouve the air heater intake on the driver side. If the truck is a manual transmission the idle should be in between 700 and 850 RPM and is not recommended to be adjusted but again can be at the TPS.

Whats wrong 99 dodge truck runs rough on low end sounds like its sucking air codes say air to fuel mix is rich codes po132 po135 po138 what could it be thanks in advance?

It couls be a design flaw made by Dodge. It's probabbly the shape of the gas tank. As you probablly know, cars need to combine oxygen and gasoline to combust. I really don't know what you could do. You could take it to a dealer and ask them to check the rings on your pistons to make sure they fill the gap between the block and the piston. The most likely problem is the gas tank is just weird shaped so the engine has trouble getting enough gas to the combustion chamber, and so it sucks in more air than gasoline. Maybe you should get your fuel line checked to see if its dirty or clogged. Please email at spjohnson1031@gmail.com to let me know if this is helpful

What is wrong when my 1997 Dodge 1500 Ram truck will sometimes start and sometimes not what is wrong?

Next time it won't start spray a little starting fluid into the air cleaner then immediately try to start it. If you don't get a response you probably don't have any spark. If you get a response even briefly you have a fuel delivery problem.

Is dodge the best quality truck?

No. I recommend Ford. They have a quality rating of 4.5 out of 5 overall. (J.D. Power and Associates) The next best truck would be the GMC Sierra 1500. Chrysler is the only American automaker I can't be proud of.... : (
