97 turbo talon and it has white smoke that smells like oil coming out the exhaust it seemed to start after i adjusted the Blow Off Valve dont know if that would affect it what could it be?

It could DEFINITELY cause it, I am not saying that you can not modify your engine, Just keep in mind that an engine is an air pump, and The piston comes up to top dead center, (NOTICE THE USE OF THE WORD,DEAD) when the piston is down it has about as much volume as A drinking glass in the cylinder, When it is up, it has about as much as you would have in your mouth, NOT CAN HOLD, WOULD HAVE IN YOUR MOUTH WHEN DRINKING WATER,The TURBO CHARGER compresses the air BEFORE the engine gets it, So what would normally be equal to A GLASS of FUEL/AIR MIXTURE, Is now equal to A 2 liter bottle, When you "ADJUST" the pop off, Or really tighten it up, You do not let the EXCESS air escape before it hurts your engine, You definitely need to "READJUST" the pop off, at least A littly, KEEP IN MIND, you may have already broken rings, or piston, or bent rods, or blown headgasket, For your sake I hope not,REALLY GOOD LUCK, Jamison

Will changing the stock 10 mm turbo to 40mm on a 91 Eagle Talon TSI AWD burn the ECM and if so where can you find an ECM that will handle this turbo?

this requires a ECU piggyback. SAFC's by apxi work great! you need this if you run over stock boost. turbo size is not the issue. although you may have a bit of turbo lag. also need is a boost controller either manual or computerized. but yes 4g63 motors run 40mm turbos all day long... have fun!

It is a 1991 eagle talon tsi Why does the eagle talon's valves tick?

If the valves are ticking they are likely damaged.

If what you hear is lifter tap, then it is due to poor design from the factory or you need an oil change. Lifters from a 3g Eclipse (00+) fix this problem.

Can the map sensor keep a car from starting?

"Yes. its a maf sensor (mass air flow sensor) and it will not let it start it will mostly just crank n crank over or start for a min with spiradic idling n shut off"

Actually, there is such thing as a MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure) but in some vehicles (especially Chrysler-Daimler) i believe, it can make the vehicle not start.

Is it possible to swap a 420A for a 4g63?

Yes, although the cost may be prohibitive - the transmissions are on opposite sides for the two engines, so additional parts and labor would be required. Cheaper alternatives for the pursuit of power would be either turbocharging the 420A or simply buying a used GS-T or GSX, although the price of a used GS-T/GSX hovers around the cost of the turbo kit (before labor).

Eagle talon fluid?

"which fluids?"

No the Eagle Talon is not fluid in state. As a whole, it is typically considered a solid.

What is the top speed of a stock 95 eagle talon esi?

I was able to get it mine upto 130 mph (stock), might go faster didn't have enough room to push it

Is my talon a 6 or 7 bolt?

the 6 bolt came in the 90 to 92 2.0 talon. the 7 bolt came in the 93 to 94 2.0 talon and the 95 to 99 2.0 turbo talon. the 6 bolt is better.

Just an addon the 92 also can have a 7 bolt motor. If it was manufactured before April of 1992 then it is a 6 bolt anything after that date it will be a 7 bolt. I have had two 1992 stock talons and both have had 7 bolts in them.

Can you run a twin turbo set up side by side on a Talon front wheel drive tsi help?

yes you can, this is known as "tandoming" it isn't worth it tho'. I build these engines all of the time and the engines perform better with one larger turbo. i have tried this with over 7 diffrent sized turbos and the amount of money and time isn't worth it.

sparky11:

Hes right about it running stronger and more powerful but don't forget that powers nothing if you get to much turbo lag with a big turbo. It isn't cheap but if you wanted to run a inline twin turbo set up then do your research on a sequential application. What this is, is a smaller turbo feeding a larger turbo, the small turbo spools real quick forcing stronger air into the larger turbo allowing it to spool quicker. Not to mention that youll start to spool at like 2000 rpm or even less. (not cheap!!)

What if you bought a car and thought it had a clean title then found out it had a salvaged title?

Depends if the seller was fraudulent intentionally. Did he give you a clean title at the time of sale? If so, you may have some recourse if the car was totaled/salvaged under his/her name.

If you bought from a licensed dealer there MAY be some recourse if it was proven or known to be salvage when (s)he sold it to you. If it's a private party sale, cars are sold as-is unless you were given a false title knowingly - an old seller's trick when a car is totaled is to immediately apply for a lost title replacement. Now the seller has two clean titles in hand, just in case he needs to surrender one for insurance purposes when he receives a cash payout for a total but decides to keep the car. He can then fix it cheaply and sell it for a good profit since he has another clean title in hand. If (s)he presented you a clean title at time of sale this is also known as FRAUD, so you can can pursue legal action or demand a refund but it's gonna require time and effort to prove. Good luck!

Before you buy a used car always submit the VIN to the state DMV to make sure the title is clean and NEVER buy a car that is not currently titled to the state you live in (there are ways to "titlewash" cars from state to state). Doing a Carfax is a good idea, too! It's always 'buyer beware' when you buy a used car and you may have gotten taken.

What is the top speed of a stock 1992 eagle talon?

1993 eagle talon top speed 2.0LMy FWD 1993 Eagle Talon ES (2.0L DOHC) would go 124mph going straight and flat, no wind. With the benefit of a tail wind, I've had it up to 127mph. That's drag limited and all it's got. This is in 5th gear; shifting into 4th slows the car down as the revs are too high.

BTW, this is top speed as measured on a GPS (not via the speedometer, which is inaccurate). I believe my particular speedometer would say 129 at 124 mph.

Only mod is opening the air intake box and installing a K&N filter.

Where is the distributor cap located on an eagle talon?

Depends which engine. The 2.0L DOHC doesnt have a distributor, it uses coils which are mounted on the intake manifold. To the right side, under the part that says "ECI Multi"

The 1.8L does have a distributor and it is located on the back right of the engine, behind the valve cover.

In either case the easiest way to find it is to follow your spark plug wires back (away from the plugs) to the distributor or coils.

Hope this helps, Good Luck.

Which is faster rb20 turbo or rb25 non turbo?

well, i would assume that the RB20DET would be faster than the RB25DE, because well...... its turbocharged :L

How do you get the crank pulley off for a 95 Eagle Talon?

Best way is use an impact wrench. The cheap way is: 1. remove the MPI relay in the engine bay. 2. Place your socket wrench, preferably breaker bar, attached to the crank pulley bolt, against something sturdy. 3. Tap the ignition for a fraction of a second. This uses the starter to turn the crank against the wrench and the bolt will break free. Reverse is a pain without a impact wrench. 1. Get some clean nylon rope. 2. Remove #1 spark plug. 3. Turn crank in CORRECT direction BDC. 4. Fill the chamber with nylon rope as much as possible (Leave something left to pull it back out when you're done). Make sure the crank is basically immovable. 5. Tighten your crank bolt to the correct spec with torque wrench. I used this method before. Hope it works for you.

How much boost can a 1991 4g63 motor take?

There isn't really a set pressure it can handle, it all depends what is done to the motor. If it's completely stock, not more than 15 psi because the fuel system can't keep up with much more. Upgraded fuel system and turbo, you can do over 20. I have a 1990 tsi with fuel upgrades, bigger turbo etc, but stock internals and I'm pushing close to 23 psi.

Can you change your 4g63 engine for 420a?

Are you talking about taking a 4g63 out and putting a 420a in? If so, i don't understand, why at all, you'd do that.
