What is the purpose of bittorrent?
From a distributor's point of view, bittorrent can greatly reduce distribution costs, ensure that distribution is not disrupted and that the content is not altered or damaged. If you use traditional distribution (people download from a server), the more people downloading, the slower the download speeds for those people (or the server crashes). Since bittorrent uses the upload bandwidth of those downloading (and those that have already downloading), the bandwidth available increases as more people download. Also, content can get damaged in transfer (or at the root of the site) in traditional transfers. Bittorrent rejects any damaged or altered content and only transfers the content originally associated with the torrent. From an end users point of view, bittorrent generally provides better speed (particularly for larger downloads) and ensures that the content will not be damaged or altered.

It now has UPnP capabilities, so no more having to port forward. It also has a new "community patch" to help block fake files from flooding the network and fake users from connecting.

If you would like to help out the network: just running as a secondary will help out as other users search for files that you may have. Once they download your file, then there are 2 copies of the same file on the network which makes it even faster for a third person to get it.

However, if you have a really good+fast internet connection and are on for hours at a time, you could run as a primary connection. Secondaries will the connect to you, and you will connect them and yourself to other primaries doing the same. This greatly helps reinforce the network.

Note: Be aware of fake patches and fraudulent programs pretending to be WinMX. Some just pretend to be WinMX, while others have patches that do not do a good job at filtering fakes. This causes problems to reverberate throughout the network. As long as you have the community patch you will be fine.
HEY! here's another update, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE COMMUNITY PATCH! The MXPie patch has been deemed inefficient at protecting the network, it is allowing fake files and flooders to attack the network. Also there are now people using this vulnerability to "data mine" information off of the network! So be safe and get the community patch! Go search the internet and look it up yourself!

Both run equally fast on torrents. Both have excellent support.
Azureus (now Vuze) has many more options available in the client and through plug ins. However, it uses much more RAM that µTorrent.
µTorrent is tiny and efficient, but has all the options that a bittorrent user would need.
I prefer µTorrent as Vuze is migrating to being a Video Application at the expense of its reputation as a bittorrent client and µTorrent's minimal RAM use makes it a pleasure to use. (Still Vuze does run as well as any client on torrents).

How to upload files to 4shared?
You'll have to register on 4shared first. Than you can upload files:
1. with 4shared online web application
2. with 4shared Desktop
3. with 4shared Mobile for iPhone/Symbian OS mobile phones
4. with 4shared Toolbar
If you run them both at the same time you should expect the bandwidth to be shared between them so no they may go half the speed
