How do you fix a lock on your car if it will lock and unlock manually but not when you use the lock or unlock button?

My dad had the same problem. Check the fuses, especially if you have a remote.

Usually it is the switch, if there is a switch on other doors use those to see it the locks work until eventually you find the one that does not work.

i approve of these answers, very well said

Where is the pcm located on a 1988 ford bronco?

PCM is located behind the driver's side kick panel. To access it, remove several of the screws retaining the black carpet threshold that holds the kick panel down, and remove the large round press in button in the front of the kick panel. Slip the rear edge of the kick panel out from under the threshold. Pull back and up on the kick panel to release the 2 Christmas tree panel clips. Once out the PCM is located in an indentation. It is held in with a white retainer near the rear edge. Care should be taken to protect it against static electricity. The front of the box extends through the firewall into the engine compartment. Looking into the engine compartment, it is below the cruise control servo. The PCM is fed by a 60 pin connector that attached to the PCM with a bolt in the center. The bolt must be loosened and the connector can be wiggled off. Hope this helps. J. R.

Does a Ford F250 4X4 have locking hubs or is it shift on the fly?

I have a 2005 which does have locking hubs, but that is so you can lock your differential from slipping. If you're stuck on a hill with all 4 wheels spinning, lock the hubs and your gear ratio is far apart, your front wheels won't spin, and the front wheels will actually do the pulling.

Whether yours has locking hubs depends on the year of F250. Later F250's, I believe beginning with the 1998 models, do have auto-locking / manual hubs. The later F250 hubs can be activated manually or electronically. When you electronically turn on the 4wd ("shift-on-the-fly"), you engage the transfer case, front drive shaft, and front axle shafts. Also, when you electronically turn on the 4wd you activate a vacuum solenoid, which provides a vacuum source to each of your front hubs to engage them. The front hubs only connect the front wheels to the front axle shafts and has nothing to do with the front axle differential, which is an open differential unless you have a differential other than the factory installed piece.

Where is the speed sensor located in a 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse?

1-Take the battery out

2-Remove the battery tray

3-You should see the black sensor on the top of the transmission on the back.

It takes a 10mm socket then it should lift out.

Take the plastic gear off and see if the shaft will spin with a drill with someone in the car watching the speedo (the car has to be on)

If it works, then just check all the connections with the wires and the gear to the tranny.

If you can stick your whole fingers through the hole and spin it...the whole tanny has to come out to replace the gear ;)

How do you replace a 1990 ford bronco water pump?

if you are mechanically inclined you can purchase a repair manual and it should walk you through, if not you may need a auto shop replace it, it isn't that hard but does require some skills and make sure you read the procedures before starting. if you are going to do this yourself you may want to replace your timing chain and gear as you will be right in the vicinity of this and this is speaking from experience, I did the water pump and 1 year later i did the timing chain and had to remove the pump to get to it.

What size transmission came in a1988 ford bronco?

I'm not sure what you mean by what size, but if you are talking about how many speeds, I believe the early 1988 Broncos came with a 3-speed transmission and the later 1988s came with a 3-speed with overdrive. Most of the information I've found online shows that the 1988 came with the 3-speed, but I own a 1988 (it was built towards the end of 1988) and it has the 3-speed with overdrive.

How do you restore a fiberglass hard top of a ford bronco that is oxidized?

I have been polishing RV fiberglass bodies that are very similar to the hard tops on Broncos. As long as the glass fibers are not exposed (if they are have to have repair work done to top) I use an aircraft polish that can be found at private airports that offer products for cleaning also can find it online. It can be pricey so use sparingly and after add a good sealer wax to the top.

Why do the front brakes pulsate on a 1995 Toyota Camry after changing the rotors and pads?

Because the brake shop used an air impact wrench to install the wheels. Incorrect or mismatched torque on the wheel lug nuts will warp the stock flimsy rotors. Either, have the shop manually torque the wheels and/or install higher quality rotors. Once the damage is done you can't undo it without machining the rotors or replacing them. Machining flimsy rotors just makes them easier to warp next time Are you sure that your pulsation is coming the front brake rotors.Test drive your vehicle in large parking lot where there are no cars or very few cars.Do not exceed 10 mph.Gently engage the parking brake without applying the brake pedal. If you feel a pulsation, your problem is in the rear.Machine or replace the brake drums/rotors and shoes/pads.If the pulsation can be felt in the steering wheel, remove wheels, remove calipers and brake rotors.Check for rust on the wheel hub(this is the area directly behind rotor where wheel studs are located). If rust exist remove with wire brush.Next check guide pins. These should move with minimal effort using your hand.If there is no problem with rust or frozen guide pins, measure rotors, machine or replace if not within specs. and replace pads.If you are using a air operated impact wrench use a toque stick with least amount toqure. The next step is very important USE A TORQUE WRENCH.You can borreow one from most major part store chain such AutoZone and O'Reilly. Please me know if this solves your problem.
