Where do the rear brake lines connect to the master brake cylinder?

The rear brake lines connect to the master brake cylinder at designated ports, typically located on the side or rear of the cylinder. In a typical brake system, there's often a specific port for the rear brakes, which allows hydraulic fluid to flow from the master cylinder to the rear brake components. The exact configuration can vary depending on the vehicle's make and model. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for precise details and diagrams.

Ford Contour running rough?

If your Ford Contour is running rough, it could be due to several issues, such as a faulty spark plug, a clogged fuel injector, or a vacuum leak. Checking the spark plugs and ignition coils for wear or damage is a good first step. Additionally, inspect the fuel system for blockages and ensure the air intake system is functioning properly. If the problem persists, consider running a diagnostic test to identify any error codes that could point to the underlying issue.

Why would the battery light only come on when you press the gas pedal on my 98 ford contour?

If the battery light on your 1998 Ford Contour only comes on when you press the gas pedal, it may indicate a problem with the alternator or charging system. Pressing the gas pedal increases engine RPM, which should boost the alternator's output; if the light comes on during this time, it could suggest the alternator isn't generating enough power to charge the battery. Additionally, a loose or worn serpentine belt could be slipping under increased load, affecting the alternator's performance. It's advisable to have the charging system tested to diagnose and address the issue properly.

How much fluid for a ford contour transmission on a drain and refill?

For a Ford Contour, a typical drain and refill of the automatic transmission usually requires about 4 to 6 quarts of fluid, depending on the specific model and year. It's always best to check the owner's manual for the exact specifications and recommended fluid type. Additionally, when performing a drain and refill, it's advisable to use the manufacturer-recommended transmission fluid to ensure optimal performance.

Where is the camshaft positioning sensor located on the 98 Ford Contour 2.5L V6?

On the 1998 Ford Contour with a 2.5L V6 engine, the camshaft position sensor is located on the front of the engine, near the timing cover. It is typically positioned at the top of the engine, near the driver's side, and is secured with a couple of bolts. To access it, you may need to remove some components for better visibility and reach.

How do i replace batteries in my contour ab belt?

To replace the batteries in your Contour Ab Belt, you will need to locate the battery compartment, typically located on the back of the belt. Open the compartment by either sliding it open or using a screwdriver to remove the cover. Remove the old batteries and replace them with new ones, ensuring they are inserted in the correct orientation as indicated by the markings inside the compartment. Close the compartment securely, and your Contour Ab Belt should now be ready for use with the new batteries.

What is the composition of CNG?

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is primarily composed of methane (CH4), with a composition of around 85-98%. It also contains small amounts of other hydrocarbons such as ethane, propane, and butane, as well as trace amounts of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide. The exact composition can vary depending on the source and production methods used.

How far can a tank of propane go in your Ford Contour?

If it's a V6 Contour, then you should be able to haul the tank as far as the gas in your gas tank will carry you, about 275-350 mile. The problem is that in most states, it is illegal to transport compressed fuel tanks inside an automobile, now, not many people follow this law, but it had to be said.

As to the obvious question of how long can a Ford Contour run on a tank of propane, using the propane as the fuel, this depends on many variables. Such as;

Engine style (I4 vs V6)

Transmission (Auto vs Manual)

Terrain

Tank size (how many cubic feet.)

How long if at will the engine last running a fuel it was not meant to burn.

Without this info, and 3-6 months of engineering, you can't hope to get real numbers.

What is a contour outline?

How do you replace the driver's side window motor in a 2000 Ford Expedition?

You dont need to replace the motor just fix it. Remove the door panel by taking out a couple of screws around the inside door handle, the bottom rear of the door and pull the panel up and out. Unplug the window, door lock and courtesy light plugs. You will find three bolts that hold the motor in place. Remove them and the motor will fall out. Now unplug the motor and it is ready to fix. There are a few people on eBay selling the bushings that go bad, buy one of these kits. Each motor gear assembly has three bushings, they are sacrificial and will rot over time, it they where not there damage to the motor gears could occur they protect against it. The bushings can be tricking to get in, but if you get all three of them diagonally in and push hard they will slide in. When putting the motor back in make sure the outer gear goes onto the crescent shaped large gear in the door, if not you will just be putting the motor outside the gear. Put the connectors and door panel back on and you have spend one hour and $9 (That's what I paid for the bushings on eBay)

Where can you find free radio wiring harness diagram for a 1998 ford contour?

Best place I found was http://www.modifiedlife.com/car-stereo-radio-wiring-diagram-and-wire-colors-2002-jeep-liberty/

They have many other year models listed but my 2003 has more wires than they list (like 2 pink wires and 2 black wires. I am assuming that this is because the radio and CD player run on different power supplies. plus a light green and a purple/yellow wire I believe the light green and purple yellow wire is for the 2 front speakers.

I have not check this as of yet and probably won't come back to correct mistakes if any.

(most likely mistake is the light green wire and the orange wire need to be switched I would check this with a voltmeterfirst then do your install as i will tomorrow, but all of the speaker wires seem pretty correct.)

Is there a grace period for expired plates in Utah?

The fact of the matter is - according to the letter of the law you can be ticketed on the first day they expire. UNOFFICIALLY - most law enforcement and courts MIGHT allow you up to 2-3 weeks past expiration, and might let you off with a warning, but anything past that timeframe is pretty unlikely. Expired plates are EXPIRED!!!

Is the transmission shot if the overdrive light flashes in Ford Mystique and the transmissions jerks sometimes between 2nd and 3rd gear?

Not necessarily, but continued driving may lead you there if it isn't fixed. It may be in the transmission control system that is causing the ill behavior. Pukenstein@aol.com

Where's the drain cock on a 1995 Ford Contour?

I have a '95 Contour. Firstly, there isn't a drain plug for the radiator. Sorry. But you can drain your radiator and coolant reservoir. When looking at your coolant reservoir or expansion tank, there will be two hoses that come out. One top and one bottom. Follow the bottom hose down to a conjunction of 3-4 hoses. There will be a hose that exits the bottom of the conjunction and runs under the car going towards the back of the car. It will be a fairly large hose with a hose crimp on it. undo the crimp and slide it back and CAREFULLY pull the hose off the tube. It will probably blast straight into the frame so be prepared. After letting all the fluids drain, You can reconnect the hose and run a radiator cleaner or a radiator flush through your radiator using your expansion tank. I would advise while you have everything drained, disconnect the two hoses from the reservoir and unbolt it from under the hood, and then clean it out. When I did it, it looked like a mix of mud and sludge coming out. Sorry for the long answer, but hopefully it's thorough and helps someone out.

What could be the reason for the engine in your car to shut off while you were driving it?

Engine shutting off while driving

What year, make and model car? It could be a fuel pump failure (especially when it gets warm with EFI) causing lack of fuel to either injectors or carburetor, ignition module failing under heat, sensor(s) sending bad info to the computer, and on and on. Does it die suddenly, or sputter out? How far does it need to be driven before it occurs? Is it on hot days only, or anytime? What does it take to make it start running again?

It is a 1997 3800 v6 auto transmission. it started making a slight knocking noise at after being driven about 10 miles. the noise didnt occur again until the car was accelerated after being stopped at a stop light. it then made the noise alot louder and longer but when it reached about 25mph or so it stopped making the noise. but a few miles after that it started making the noise when i had my foot on the gas. then i went up a hill so i accelerated a little more to make it too the top and when i got too the top of the hill the engine died. i let it sit for a few minutes then tried to start it again but it wouldn't. NOTE: when vehicle was stopped at traffic light the needle on the oil gauge was towards the bottom of the gauge but when i accelerated it went back towards the middle

its a 1999 Honda civic lx once car warms up it shuts off but turn key off then on an it runs while driving its not on hot days

Can you use 30w engine oil on a 1999 ford contour?

I would not recommend using any single-weight motor oil in any modern car engine. They are designed with much closer tolerances than older engines, and they need the ability of multigrade oils to flow easily when cold to provide proper lubrication quickly when started. Single grade oils are too sluggish, especially in cold weather, to provide this protection. Use the grade oil Ford recommends for the car.

Note that, if your engine is already using oil excessively and you have to add oil several times between changes, it's pretty much a matter of economics at that point. The engine already needs overhaul: the additional wear caused by cold-starting with single weight oil won't change that. However, if your engine doesn't burn oil, using a cheaper oil is a false economy.

I strongly recommend the use of a good synthetic oil!
