Unbolt it from the head.

Check the Vehicle Emission Control Information ( VECI ) decal located in the

front of the engine compartment ( it will show what type of spark plugs to use

and the spark plug gap )

The dash must be completely removed in order to gain access to the heater box. Then the heater hoses are disconnected and the heater box is removed and opened up. That gains access to the heater core for relacement.

This issue was addressed in 1993 by Ford when they recalled all 97 Ford Escorts. However, as an owner, my light still blinks after I brought it into a Ford dealership back in 93.

This questions still needs an answer. I don't think Ford fixed the problem(s).

Release the tension by applying a 3/8 inch ratchet into the tensioner bar. Pull it towards you and take off the belt.

Hi, I do know that the clutch master servo draws off brake fluid from the brake master cylinder and may require a certified mechanic to replace or rebuild the servo depending on it's condition and cause.

If I recall correctly the 1986 Escort had either a 1,6 diesel or a CVH petrol engine. In any case your car radio (even from 1986) will have more electronics than the rest of the car.

Unplug the battery, wait ten minutes, hold down the horn to drain any remaining power, than reconnect battery.

if the 99 ford escort is the 4-door version, the timing is set when installing the timing belt/set. Setting the timing is as simple as lining up the timing marks on the cam gear and the crank

if the 99 ford escort is the 2-door version, the timing is also set when installing a new timing belt/set. The procedure for setting the timing on this engine requires locating top dead center (TDC) on cylinder number one and using a piece of flat steel to align the cams.

Note: there are two different methods because Ford used different engines in the 2-door and the 4-door. The 2-door had a DOHC 2.0 installed while the 4-door had a SOHC installed

Workaround : 1. Determine howmany wires and which color 2. Take multimeter and test the continuity Usaully, Black=Ground If you have two blue wired then they must be positive For one speaker use black and blue Mr Yogi

Usually a leak is caused by a gasket or seal no longer sealing properly, allowing oil to get by.

They can fail due to age (materials break down, harden or shrink), heat, or the pieces they are supposed to seal no longer fitting properly.

Intake manifold delivers the fuel air mixture to the cylinder heads, exhaust manifold collects the gases after combustion, and channels them into the exhaust pipe.

There are 2 adjusting screws new the metal air intake body. The Phillips is mounted by the dual cables for the throttle and and if for adjusting the intrenal butterfly ONLY - DO NOT TURN IT!!

The IDLE speed is adjusted by the slotted screw (uses a straight screw-driver)- NOT Phillips head screw on the air intake housing. This screw in in the metal body of the air intake. I asked a local deal service dept and got great advice: Turn it clock wise until you hear the idle speed slow, check the RPM's.. should be appox 900rpm. Turn the screw 1/4 turn at a time - WAIT 30 secs for the onboard computer to adjust... still too fast? Give it another 1/4 turn until you get the idle rpm to appox 900rpm.

it MAY run a little rough on cold starts after this adjustment: IF So turn it back COUNTER_clock wise and 1/8 of a turn at a time to 'tweak" the cold start. I did it after a few days of trail & error..

The pump is underneath the back seat. There are 2 releases that allow you to remove the seat, exposing the tin cover that seals out road debris. Remove the 4 screws and lift off the tin.(There is a rubber grommit with the electrical wires for the pump throught the tin cover) You now have access to the (fuel) tank and the pump. Removing the pump is easy, just tap the lock ring (ccw)with a hammer and BRASS drift, lift ring and your done, pump is now exposed. It might be a good idea to dis-connect the battery before you start working on any fuel system.

There should be a slot in the shfiting console to insert a small screwdriver to unlock the shift lock.

The starter is located between the engine and the firewall towards the bottom. There are 3 bolts that hold it in place. zx2 2002 model.
