How do you replace the odometer cable on a 1995 Ford Thunderbird LX?

You don't. There is no such thing as an odometer or a speedometer cable on that vehicle. The speedometer is electrically operated using a signal from the vehicle speed sensor. The odometer is driven by a little electric motor in the speedometer head assembly. If the speedo is working, but the odo isn't, you need a speedometer head assembly. If both are inop, you COULD need a speedo head, but there could also be a problem elsewhere in the system.

How to repair door 1993 ford Thunderbird?

that depends whats wrong with it and your mechanical skills

How do you remove the outside door handle 1997 ford thunderbird?

Tough task... Door handle is riveted to door so you'll need to drill out the rivets. These are replaced with flat head machine screws and lock nuts. I had to shorten one of the screws to allow the window mechanism to go by when rolling the window up or down. Need to remove the inner door panel to get to the inside of the door. Previous steps are easy. Toughest part is rod that connects the handle to the latch. You cannot get your hands in there to access it. I cut the old handle apart to get it out. I had a rod from the replacement handle that I modified to make it easier to install. I decreased the radius (unbent) of the bend where it enters the handle so it would slide into the handle easier when it was installed in the car. Also remember to disconnect the battery or the theft system will start blowing the horn in the middle of the job...I should know. I did this job on my car but it was not easy. Took several hours.

Spark plug change on 1990 thunderbird sc?

the best way to get to all of the plugs is from under the car that is the only way I was able to do it and my mechanic told me the same.

From EXPERIENCE , changing spark plugs on a 1990 thunderbird super coupe is an experience you will not forget anytime soon. There is only one way that the plugs can be removed and reinstalled, and that is by removeing - (driverside)- alum ducts from pre cooler, top duct comes all the way out, bottom will need to be moved out of the way, while these are out of the way tighten valve cover bolts, they usuallly leak oil, you can not replace gasket at this time, the bottom duct for pre cooler is in the way. To change gaskets wait until you need to change power steering pump or hoses because motor will then have to be lowered and thats when lower duct can be moved further out of the way. Thats reality for this super coupe, takes alot to do a little-

Passenger side- remove outer supertine belt, remove a\c compressor, heater hose mount bolted to block, unplug wire loom to everything on that side in order to move loom, then you can access spark plugs, you must be very agile with your hands as there is no room, you will drop socket, spark plug several times so be prepaired. There is no way to remove spark plugs from under side of car, can't be done. Before you reinstall the plugs put some type oil on threads to make it easy to install plugs back into block, if you don't its much harder to thread back in. To recap - It aint easy- who ever engineered this crap

is a peace of crap, Just my opinion.

How do you replace the alternator on a 1989 Ford Thunderbird?

I'm not sure if you have a 3.8 or the 5.0, but I've got a 1995 4.6 V8 T-Bird that I just changed the alternator on. It's quite easy and you should be able to do it in 30 minutes or less. First, disconnect the positive battery terminal and make sure it remains disconnected until you have bolted everything back in and put the belt back in place. Loosen and remove the belt from the alternator pulley by applying torque to the belt tensioner pully. There are 3 bolts that you have to undo. One on the top rear and two at the bottom. Make sure to also remove the bolt that attaches the positive lead to the top of the alternator. Also unclip the negative lead and ground clips. Doing all this should allow you to remove the alternator. Put the new alternator into its place, bolt it in and remember to plug the clips as well as bolt on the positive lead to the top of the unit. Put the belt back in place and reconnect the positive battery lead you disconnected at the beginning of the process. Start the car and listen for any strange squeaks or rattling. Keep in mind that the bearings of the new alternator will not be broken in yet, so they may whine for a little while after starting (at least mine did). That should be it, and I take no responsibility if you screw anything up.

How do you hook up the vacuum hose line on a 1984 Ford Thunderbird?

that depends, most vacuum hoses just push onto a plastic or metal nipple and are held there with hose clamps.if the hoses are missing and you dont know the routing, then you will probably have to get a repair manual for the car that covers vacuum hose routing.i would probably go to a salvage yard and see if i can find one with the hoses still connected before i spent money on a manual i will hardly ever use first though.
