Its an error which has ocurred to your iphone/ipod probaly during restore.
its very easy to fix...
Try Restoring and if it doesnt work try this:
Make sure iphone/ipod is awake and ou can see something on the screen now plug into computer and open itunes and do exactly this:
Keep Hold Of Home And Power Buttons(top and bottom) For around 5 secs then let go of Power button and keep hold of home button until a message pops up in itunes saing you iphone/ipod is in recovery blah blah...
Then Press Restore and hope for the best i hope i helped.

NOTE: I used this method without any contacts in my "Windows Contacts" folder, if you have contacts already there please keep that in mind as you follow these steps.
If you don't have outlook like me, I found a way to get the contacts off my BB Curve 8330, and into my windows contacts
Im running Windows Vista and haven't tested to see if this will work for XP users
It took me a few days to finally get it to work, ill warn all of you, there is more then one version of blackberry desktop manager u can use, and the first one i downloaded wouln't sync with my BB.
The BB Desktop Manager version that worked for me is v5.01 and was 258MB
1) Load up Blackberry Desktop Manager
2) Click "Synchronize"
3) Click Synchronization under the "Configuration" tab at the top left of the screen.
4) Click the "Synchronization" button
5) Click on "Address Book". (and if you need to, click on setup)
6)Click on Windows Address Book/Mail then click next
7)Select "One way sync from device" With the arrow pointing at Windows Address Book/mail click next
8) It should say "Congratulations!" and have a "Finish" Button
9) Now click on Synchronize tab at the top left of the screen
10) click on Synchronize and it should say "Processing"
A window will pop up saying "Confirm Address Book Edits" click on accept
11) Open iTunes
12) Go to your iPhone's setup page in iTunes (Select iPhone at the side menu)
13) Click on the "Info" tab
14) Under "Contacts", check the "Sync contacts with" checkbox, and select "Windows Address Book". "All contacts"
15) Click "Apply" at the bottom of the page. It should save your changes, and automatically sync your contacts.
If you don't want you iPhone to always be synced with your Windows contacts which may be the case with most people
Uncheck the Sync check box and select apply
And you should have all your contacts on your iPhone
