Arab scholars, contrary to much criticism in the west now, were more than just "go betweens" between India and the west, transfering knowledge from India to the western world, and they were more than just "preservers" of Greek knowledge; they made many important innovations. Also, its not like the ancient Greeks where white either; genetic tests have shown, that the most common genetic haplogroup in Greece, is haplogroup J, which is found primarily (in its largest concentrations) in the middle east. That it is the most common in Greece, and it is ESPECIALLY prevalent in the Greek islands, where they did not mix with Slavs, and are still "pure" Greeks, means that the ancient Greeks, where not white to start with. This is critical information; western law, democracy, science, and now there is scientific proof of it, it did not begin with white people. Greece, culturally speaking is even barely a part of Europe. Although, the modern Greek people ARE white; its the Slav in them. Moving on; Calculus for example, was not invented by Leibnitz. He has been given credit for years, well him and Newton, for developing it, but the truth is Calculus existed in India centuries earlier, as well as Algebra. So, why are the Arabs important? Although Algebra was known in India, the old, ancient Indian method was extremely slow and cumbersome. The Arabs, streamlined it, and when it was passed to Europeans, because they were using a streamlined, simpler, more efficient version of Algebra, they arrived at Calculus theory much faster than India did. I think it took India, somewhere around 1 millenia to get to Calculus, whereas in Europe, it only took two centuries. Remember we are dealing with math here; if it is true that it is a universal language, if you give any culture Algebra, it will arrive at Calculus sooner or later. Europeans were able to do it faster, thanks largely to the Arabs, who in fact did the world of math a HUGE favor by simplifying the often cumbersome and ineficient Indian methods. All the math you studied in grade, high school and college, is in fact Arab, with the exception of Calculus. Arab scholars were ABOUT to attempt to streamline Indian calculus, sadly, inter tribal squables among the Caliphs, caused the Islamic sultanate they controlled to fall on its face. To a certain extent; dreaming in color implies a creative mind, and as a general rule creative people do indeed tend to be smarter than most. An interesting show on National Geographic, I believe it was called "Artist vs. Mathematician; Whose Smarter" or simply "Who's the Smartest" pitted an artist, a high level artist, against a Math guy. The artist's I.Q. turned out to be higher, from what I remember. Don't ask him to split an atom, do the math to figure out how I mean, or ask him about numerical theory, but, if you described to him an image, he could create a very vivid portrait. He was one of those artists, who all they had to do was imagine something, and in their own mind they have "still life." Dreaming in color MAY be indicative, but, unless you can "think it, then draw it," odds are, unless there are other things in your life which make you suspect you are smarter than everyone else I would not rely too much on it. Can you solve puzzles faster than most people? Do some teachers think you're "difficult?" (this happened a lot to Bobby Fischer) Can you solve complex algebra problems completely mentally? Calculus? Plenty of people can do it quickly on pencil and paper, however, doing "college" algebra in your head? Equations that are 2 inches wide, and 3 inches long? See now THAT, is a gift; it means you have a very precise imagination. See its not just being able to picture something; its being able to picture something with PRECISION. That is what sets artists, and high level mathematicians like Hawking apart from the rest of us. Imagination, is a largely untrained aspect of the human mind, worse than being untrained, in some cultures its use is actively discouraged. Its not a question of discouraging its use, but learning how to use it; children need to be taught to CONTROL it, not get rid of it. If you have a kid, or know of a kid, with their head in the clouds, tell them that, if they are going to be floating up there, to at least work on their homework while they are up there! If you are a fast problem solver, have an extremely vivid imagination, and you don't get along with many educational types, it probably means you're smart. Quite frankly, this is a question that is not possible to answer with current technology. While Norway tested higher in earlier parts of this century the rest of the world has been catching up since 1991. It is suspected that Norway simply has better environmental conditions for learning thus allowing students to give better answers resulting in an apparent higher IQ. In theory IQ should not be affected by education but in practice we have not achieved that state as of yet.

The advice is much the same in all books and on all websites:

1. Practice the reading and listening using an exam practice book. If you have an incorrect answer, try and find out why.

2. Get a tutor to check your speaking and writing to find your mistakes and give you advice on style. Then practice as much as you can.

Intelligence depends on multiple things ... but there is a correlation between head size and intelligence . And I always ask this .... if you have no head at all ... can you be intelligent or not ? The answer is NO , without a head there is no intelligence whatsoever . The next question is : If you have the largest head possible ( the other extreme ) ... can you be intelligent or not ? Yes you can . With the largest head possible you can be intelligent . The largest computer on earth is better than no computer without a doubt . But of course a computer depends on other factors too to be efficient . A large computer from 1980's is less efficient than a desktop computer from nowadays . People , I think are looking for that one thing that gives them the edge . But with a big head there is no guarantee that will be the case . Your brain must be efficient . Plus ... what kind of intelligence are you looking for ? For example ... people who are creative are not good rationalists . Being a rationalist means to always find the truth .... over think stuff and so on . You want solid evidence to support the claim . Being a creative man ... means something else . It means getting inspired all the time and coming up with your own stuff .... your own theories . You care very little about what others say . And you are living in the present . Your basis is imagination instead of logic . And this is what Einstein said -" Imagination is more important than knowledge ". So if you want to be considered one of the great geniuses on earth .. you must put aside thinking the truth ... and do stuff more on how you feel than what you think . So ... it depends on what you really are searching for . So thinking can occur in the brain or by being inspired . And this is not something that is new stuff . The bible said it : When man wanted God's power , being able to tell right from wrong ... he became a mortal ( I can't give you an exact quotation right now ) .
