According to psychologist Howard Gardner there are 7 different types of intelligence:

1. Linguistic

2. Logical

3. Bodily

4. Spatial

5. Musical

6. Interpersonal

7. Intrapersonal

It would depend on the type of test. For experimental psychology, You certainly don't want to harm the subject, for example the ethics of running tests on pain tolerance, or perhaps simulated application of pain upon other subjects. Either case could be traumatic. Animal experiments should not be conducted frivolously, and should take into account the minimizing the pain or sensations of harm done to the animals. I suppose another issue would be what to do with unsolicited data concerning potential pathology that a subject might have of a non critical nature. As far as pre-occupational psychological testing... that could be a can of worms. Perhaps excluding a person because of a belief of an unrealized potential for pathology. And, realizing that each person may have different strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps the same would go for routine diagnostic testing. Certainly if there is a concern a psychological test may augment other diagnostic evaluations. However, there is a lot of variety. For example, with IQ tests, some people may be smart at issues not covered by the IQ test, or perhaps they are just bad at taking tests.

Both are advertised as brain enhancers, helping people do better on mental tasks. Basically Prevagin and Brain Plus IQ are the same in the class of nootropics. The FDA claims that the key ingredient of Prevagin, apoaequorin, a synthetic protein, is not an acceptable ingredient in a dietary supplement. Limited use, if any, seems to be a wise choice and choose one or the other. A good resource would be a pharmacist or your doctor.

WAIS-IV stands for Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-4th Edition. It a clinician administered test--i.e. it cannot be taken online. The test is only sold to clinicians--licensed psychologists--who are trained to use it. You need to see a psychologist to get it done. Sometimes you can get a free assessment at a university clinic with a Ph.D. program in clinical psychology. However, if you walk in and simply request an IQ test, your request might be declined, just like you might be refused and MRI if you walked into a neurologist's office and asked for one. More often than not, the psychologist will inquire as to why you want the test. In fact, it would probably be a violation of professional ethics to not discuss your history and presenting problems before tests are given.

An IQ of 121 at the age of fourteen is extraordinary and means the child is a potential genius. Generally, an IQ score of 121 is ranked as exceptional, just one rank below the highest: genius. You should work towards keeping your IQ at this very high level, as it could benefit you in life.

As with any population it varies, however studies show it is higher on average than in the general population. But the studies vary by how much.

However it is vital to remember that the only thing IQ scores measure reliably is ones ability to score high on IQ tests. They have no other proven value.

Not at all. 129 is a pretty good IQ score to have. You are considered above average but not necessarily a genius. The average score is 100. However, the brain can be trained to think better, and thus it is possible for an IQ score to go up, but most of the time IQ is determined by genetics and geographical area. That's normal. IQ isn't supposed to change much. It is measure of your ability to learn, not how mch you know. It is more along the lines of how much you could learn, not how much you have learned.

I personally agree with the 2nd answer. Yours is not that bad. 100 is the average. IQ = mental age/calendar age x 100. So if your IQ is 119 and your age is 17, you think like a 20.23 year old person since 20.23/17 x 100 = 119. :D Besides, if your IQ is 119, your higher than relatively 87% of the total population. :)

fasting is never good. diet and exercise. eat healthy and in moderation. Fasting to lose weight is not good for anyone, as soon as you eat normally again you put all the weight back on as your body has gone into 'starvation' mode. It is particularly bad for a young person who is still growing. You have to balance your height against your weight and 180 pounds may not be too much weight for a tall muscular 12 year old. See a doctor and/or nutritionist to work out what weight you should be aiming for and work out a sensible eating and exercise plan. Don't forget you are still growing so you need plenty of protein, but you also need whole carbs in the form of wholemeal bread, pasta and brown rice, (NOT, cake, candy, cookies and chips). A certain amount of fat is also required to make use of fat soluble vitamins. If you are hungry eat an apple or a carrot. good luck

There is no definitive way to measure a cat's IQ score. However, cats are very intelligent. The only other mammals more intelligent than cats are monkeys and chimps.

I think it would be unlikely that Asperger's Syndrome (AS) would be misidentified as high IQ; however, a person with Asperger's Syndrome might also have a high IQ. A person with AS will have various symptoms, some of which might cause a misdiagnosis of an attention deficit disorder (ADD or ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), a learning disability, or other conditions. As an example, it seems unlikely that a medical professional would explain rarely speaking, an intense interest in doorknobs, lack of eye contact, or experiencing extreme anxiety when lights flash as having a high IQ.

A person can have both Asperger's Syndrome and a high IQ, only Asperger's Syndrome, or only a high IQ. Some people with Asperger's Syndrome have a high IQ. Most people with a high IQ do not have Asperger's Syndrome.

Normally my answer would be no, yet now I am in a different perspective, so my answer is that dumb people are only smart to those who are not as smart as those who are dumb, and as such they are dumb yet smart at the same time, but in varying degrees, and to different people.
