Where would you get parts and a new stock for an Iver Johnson 30 cal Enforcer Pistol?
you can find some parts like a new or used bolt assm. or parts matching the carbine from brownnells.com or cheaperthandirt.com but sorry no luck finding a new pistol stock. (if you do buy a bolt for it make sure you buy the right one there's two types, a flat, and a round and you must use the same type)
How do you know the year of an Iver Johnson 12 gauge?
Brian, also a question I need answers to. I have 2 antique ones from grandfathers on both sides of my family. I can find everything on them except a serial number. They were both made in Fitzburg, and both pre 1930 and that's about all I know, with the exception that I have to have a firing pin fixed in one before iusing it. 2 things I do know about them, however: 1. You will want to use the smaller load 2. Never use a specialized Deer load. These barrels are tapered inside even more than they look like from the outside, and you run a seious risk of both blowing out the end of the barrel AND major self injury. Feel welcome to email me at goodrum@scrtc.com if you want to exchange ideas on these guns. I used one of them to shoot trap for several years - kicks like a mule !!! I know just enough about this brand to not get my head blown off, haha & that's about it. - Dawn I was just recently given a Iver Johnson 12 Guage Single Barreled Hammered Champion Shotgun from my father in law. He says it was his grandfathers. It was in very poor condition as it sat in a barn for years. I've spent countless hours restoring it and it is now looking brand new. I too am very curious what year it was made. I have searched all over for the answer to this, and have come up empty handed. The stampings say, Serial number 16308, Fitchburg Mass, 12 Guage Bore Choke. I am also curios whether it should be loaded with 2 3/4, or 2 1/2 loads. Brian I'm going to send you to another forum at the related link. There are a couple of people who hang out on Shotgun World who know a bit about these. One has written a book on IJ handguns and is researching the shotguns now. I don't think he will be able to give you an exact year, but I know there were minor changes that may give him enough to get you into a fairly short time period. You might have to furnish photos or the exact width of the forearm, number of screws in the receiver, etc. Just ask how to find out the guns age and I'm sure someone will tell you what additional information is required.

Where can you get a firing pin and pin spring to a Iver Johnson 22 Supershot sn 13916?
A oistolsmith can either find and install the parts, or possibly make them. However, the cost of repair will likely equal or exceed the value of the gun.
What do the letters FBUX indicate on an Iver Johnson 20 gauge single barrel shotgun?
The FBUX letters on an Iver Johnson shotgun is the serial number.
Iver Johnson, in the later years of production, used the word "Fitchburg" and assigned a number for each letter as follows:
F=1, I=2, T=3, C=4, H=5, B=6, U=7, R=8, G=9, and the "X" was for 0.
Therefore, the serial number is 1670.
Well, IJ just chambered a revolver in 32 SW short, and they certainly weren't the only company that did. Maybe people bought them for self-defense and maybe for plinking or keeping possums out of the henhouse. Paraphrasing "Cartridges of the World", the 32 SW probably ranks along with the 32 ACP in general popularity because it is adaptable to small, light, cheap pocket handguns. In other words, it's a hideaway gun intended to be used at very close range, not something to take to the OK Coral.
What is the age and value of a 5-shot 32 caliber Chicago Arms Co top break revolver?
Chicago Arms Co operated 1883-1897. They manufactured the unusual "Protector Palm Pistols" which are a bit pricey, but their standard revolvers will probably not bring much more than a couple hundred dollars even in excellent condition.
Where can you find information about an Iver Johnson Model 2-X?
THIS MODEL WAS PRODUCED BETWEEN 1932 AND DISCONTINUED IN 1955. THIS GUN WAS FITTED WITH A HEAVY 24 INCH BARREL. VERY ACCURATE GUN! I HAVE OWNED ONE OF THESE GEMS FOR QUITE SOME TIME. DEPENDING ON THE CONDITION OF YOUR GUN, IT COULD BE WORTH BETWEEN $ 75.00 IN POOR CONDITION. TO AS HIGH AS $ 400.00 FOR NEW IN BOX CONDITION. IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THIS GUN REMEMBER IT ONLY SHOOTS 22 CALIBER SHORT CARTRIDGES. I HOPE THIS HELPED YOU
The 2X I have has 22S.L.LF stamped on the barrel. Also has patented Canada 1931
My brother has the same type shotgun. He says to look under the forearm of the gun and the serial number should be there. The forearm being the part that would be held in the left hand if a right handed person was aiming the gun.
It depends which model you are talking about. The break open type, you break open then look for a small flat spring in the frame in front of the cylinder in line with the axis pin of cylinder this is a spring catch, press into frame and pull cylinder off axis rod. Be careful to watch for another flat spring in the axis rod, this is friction spring for cylinder, do not overlook or lose! The screws in the frames of all models, if the screw does not move, lubricate with a penatrating oil( the very best is KROIL by Kano labs,) strike head of screw with small hammer with light blows and get screwdriver that fits the screws VERY CLOSE, apply down pressure and turn(all screws are right hand threads) if not successful then screws have to drilled out and replaced. These handguns are very simple and OLD. Parts are hard to find some are not to be found. A drawing for some models are on the web at gunpartscorp.com. Good Luck!
The Champion was manufactured from 1909 to 1956. It was available in .44 shot and .45 shot but those rounds have not been loaded commercially since WWI, so it is entirely possible that it was manufactured as a .44. The barrel would not have to be bored out to use .410 shells, but the chamber should be lengthened since it was designed for a 1-1/2 or 2" black powder shell. CAUTION: Even though a .410 shotshell will fit in these guns, modern 410 shells create pressures much higher than the gun was intended to handle. If the chambers have not been lengthened, that will add additional pressure as the shell cannot open fully. I would have a qualified gunsmith look this gun over really close before I shot it. Value would range from $25 if it is rusty and useful only as a source of parts, up to $125 if it is like-new. There is not much collector interest in these and they are too old to be a serious field gun. If you find out that IS a .44 and has NOT been altered to .410, you might get a little more interest from a collector looking for less common chamberings, but it won't increase the price.
I can write a book about 'what I don't know',,,but I don't know of a 10 gauge Iver Johnson,,,,maybe a 12?? Jim Spear
I'm not sure about it's value but when I was a kid we had one in the family and shot regular factory 32 shorts in it. I'd like to find another one. If you decide to get rid of it, let me know.

What is the value of a 1931 Iver Johnson self-cocking 22 rifle?
I am trying to find the answer to the same exact thing. Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works, FitchBurg, Mass. U.S.A. 22S L&LR/ MODEL 2-X I am going to the ORION BLUE BOOK web site, spend the $4 and find out. When I find our answer, I will come back here and let you know the answer.
5.7mm = .224(in inches).... So a 30 cal. wont work because a .30 cal is .076 in. larger than what you need.
You CANNOT fire the .30 Carbine round in that gun. You need to obtain 5.7mm Johnson (Spitfire) ammunition. If you subtract 5.7mm from 30mm, you find that the 30 mm is a big honker, about 1.2 INCHES in diameter, 24 mm larger than the 5.7. The US Military uses 20 mm CANNONS. I'm tempted to say, if you can stuff it in there, go for it. But I fear that you might. I will say, NEVER use ammo in a gun that was not specifically designed for it. Somehow, though, the image of a 1 inch cannon shell being stuffed into a roughly 24 caliber weapon does give me a chuckle, though. Think it through, then try it. A bit of thought here would work wonders. Be careful. No, you absolutely can not fire .30 carbine in an M-1 Carbine chambered for 5.7 MMJ (.22 Spitfire, .22 Johnson, whatever). First of all, the bolt won't close on the round if you try, which is a Very Good Thing. If it did, and you pulled the trigger on it, you would be in for a lengthy hospital visit and short one M-1 Carbine.
What determines caliber in guns?
The size of the hole in the barrel. Since there are high and low grooves cut to spin the bullet, it is the distance between the high places (called the "land" of the rifling). If that distance is 0.030, it is a 30 caliber weapon. Shotguns are done differently. The "gage" of the shotgun (except 410) refers to the number of round lead balls the same size as the hole that it takes to equal a pound. A 12 gage shoots a 11/3 ounce round lead ball and it takes 12 of them to equal a pound. A 16 gage shoots a 1 ounce round ball, etc.
What is the value of a 410 Iver Johnson shotgun pat Jun 15 15?
