Gerald Morris has an excellent series (The Squire's Tales) of books covering the entire story arc in Morte d'Arthur for young readers. There are ten books in all. Told with wit and intelligence. The Squire's Tale is the first book in the series. I enjoyed reading them as an adult Arthurian fanatic. She might also enjoy The House of Pendragon series by Debra Kemp. The series is about Lin, King Arthur's daughter, kinda Camelot generation next. In book 1, The Firebrand, Lin grows up as a slave not knowing she is Arthur's daughter. In book 2, she's met her father and she goes to Camelot for the first time and meets her mother, Guinevere. Lin doesn't behave like a normal princess and rebels. Guinevere doesn't understand and Lin turns to her father and becomes a soldier in Arthur's army. Jane Yolen wrote a delightful book: sword of the Rightful King--has an interesting twist to the sword in the stone theme.
Why did Arthur and the other knights look for the Holy Grail?
Because in the Medieval days, holy relics were thought very powerful. A Holy Relic is something used by a Saint or someone from Religious History, and most times they were probably fake. Some Churchs said they had a splinter from the cross, or Aaron's walking staff, or a piece of the Virgin Mary's Skull.
Middle Age people were very perverted, almost as perverted as the Ancient Romans.
According to the most common accounts, she died peaceably in a convent, either in Caerleon according to the chronicles, or in Amesbury according to the Lancelot version of her story. In the prose romance PerlesvausGuenevere dies of sorrow for the death of her son Lohot, long before Arthur's last battle. Her body and the head of her son Lohot are placed in a tomb in a chapel in the Island of Avalon. Arthur's body will eventually also lie there. It is possible that this author imagined a sequel in which Arthur would marry a second Queen Guenevere who would become Mordred's lover. Jean de Preis composed his Mer des Histoires or Ly Myreur des Histors near the end of the fourteenth century. In this version Mordred survives the final batltle. Arthur, and Gawain also!, sail away to Avalon. Then Lancelot of the Lake returns to Britain along with his vassal, King Carados of Little Britain. Lancelot besieges and captures London, executes the guilty Guenevere, and imprisons Mordred with her corpse, which in his hunger Mordred eats. Lancelot bestows the crown on Constantine the son of King Carados, and himself becomes a hermit.
According to Hector Boece in his Scotorum Historia in 1527, the Scottish king, Eugenius, an ally of Mordred, remains master of the field in the last battle, and takes prisoner Queen Guanora (here first mentioned in Boece), whom the Picts hold in lifelong captivity. Boece mentions an alternate tradition according to which Arthur obtained his wife back from Mordred, and had her torn apart by wild horses. According to a local legend at Meigle in mid Scotland, north of Perth, Guenevere fled there after the deaths of Arthur and Modred. The people there disliked her and slew her.
Will King Arthur be reincarnated?
Yes. The reincarnation of king arthur will happy in 2013. Every 1000 years Arthur returns to defeat the evil stepbrother Mordrid. & just so happens, 2013 is every 1000 years.
The reincarnation has been said to take place in a small town named Telford in England on 21st August 2013 No one knows who the reincarnation will be. It could be anyone, but whoever it is, the world is counting on them to save England from evil Mordrid.
King Arthur always returns on a lunar eclipse & a meteor shower on the same day. That too only happens every 1000 years. Look out!
