NO YOU DONT DROP THE TANK!!!! its in the trunk behind the fabric... but to get the fuel pump out you take out the back part of the back seat! its right there... be careful!! i would not do this if you are dumb!!

Your Lexus dealer (Parts Dept) will change it for you for the price of the battery, I just paid $4.33 (Sept. 2008). If you want to do it yourself, purchase a CR2032 3v battery (flat disc) from somewhere like Radio Shack or Fry's Electronics. To open the key fob, hold the fob key-ring side up, and do these two things at the same time: 1) slide back the top compartment (with arrow) 2) lift that same top compartment while it's pulled back Once the top is removed, use your fingernail to pull out the battery holder, then slide the battery out of that & replace.

In the ES250 model, the fuses are located in 2 primary places. In the engine compartment, on the drivers side, along the top outside wall, in a black compartment. Just pop open the snap on hinge to gain access to these fuses. Secondly, inside the car, drivers side floor panel area. Remove panel door to access these fuses.

It is against the law for you to change the odometer reading. Ask the State Police (Highway Patrol) in your area what the procedure is. Be careful, there's something like a $10,000 fine for changing one.

----It is only illegal if the car is less than 10 years old and only if it is done with the intent of misleading someone to the actual mileage of the car. If you are changing the mileage on a replacement instrument panel to accurately show the actual mileage, it is perfectly legal.

in simple terms, yes, it is. Have always used chevron and NEVER had any fuel related issues. Car I have is a 2001 es300 and my parents bought it new and always used cheap Costco or other brand. When they gave me the car last year, it had issues in the fuel system. I have since cleaned it out and told my wife to never use anything but chevron.

I replaced the main O2 sensor of bank 2 (passenger side) on my 1991 LS400. 1993 model should be similar. If you talk about the sub O2 sensor, located behind the converter, you can use the same way of changing it. First of all, jack up the car and remove the passenger side wheel to have more access to the sensor, which is located on the exhaust pipe before the converter. You need a 22mm box wrench to turn the sensor loose after using plenty of 'liquid wrench' at the base of the sensor. The socket of the sensor is secured on the engine block with a 10mm bolt. You'd better take the bolt off to make it easy to separate the socket and the plug. Installation will be the reverse of what mentioned above. Good luck!

what you do when you get a check engine light is one of two things. the easy way to reset your computer is to take your key and put it into the ignition. turn the key from off to on 10 times. than after the 10th time take it and turn the key to start it. this should turn that pesky light off. if it doesnt go off i know autozone has a free diagnostic that they came plug in and tell you what is wrong. 90% of the time it is a bad 02 sensor and its just easier to replace them. hope this helps out

It takes 2--#921 bulbs which are 18 watts, about $2 bucks each at Pep Boys in my area.

With a putty knife (my choice) or screwdriver, pop off the top of the high deck tail light. It is 'snapped' on and comes off easily. Replace the bulbs (check them by stepping on brake) and insert the window side lugs of the cover back into their slots and push down on the interior lugs. Job done!

The vibration while the car is idle could be a sign that the rubber in the engine or powertrain mounts are wearing out. I went to 2 different shops and was told that the vibration was normal, but the 3rd shop pointed out the problem right a way and replaced 2 of the 4 mounts. After that my car was so silent at idle I thought it stalled.

For the 2000-GS300 you will need #000 Philips screwdriver, remove the small screw and pry the case open nearest the screw hole. The upper portion of the case has a strong snap like hook that holds it together. Its pretty hefty and seems to be the only way to open it. Inside you will find a module about the size of a quarter that has two more #000 Philips screws securing it. Remove them and under that cover you will find a CR1616 battery. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to lift the free edge of the battery and slide it out away from the retaining tabs.

For a Lexus IS 250 /AWD Key-less Entry Key FOB 2006 and newer:

1. Take out the mechanical key from your fob.

2. Put a flat head screwdriver into the inset space...just inside of the mechanical key slot....and gently turn/pry it. This will pry open the fob.

3. Remove the old battery and replace with a new Panasonic CR1632 battery..positive side facing up.

4. Replace the cover of the fob by first pressing on the bottom then the top (The top is the side where the mechanical key is inserted)

The timing is computer controlled, there is no adjustments.

I know this is a little late, but timing could be off because the timing belt is not properly aligned. If the timing belt is installed incorrectly the timing will never be right.
