Need more information. Do the tailight bulbs light up, just not the brake lights? What about the turn signals? If so you might have the incorrect bulbs installed. If the tailights, turn signal and brake lights are out you have something disconnected. There are three bulbs on each side of the body part of the car. The top and bottom bulbs are dual bulbs (1157) while the middle bulb has one filament. It is probably the lamp failure sensor. It is located in the trunk on the driver side just behind the backseat. It is a small black box with a white connector connected in it. You shorted out the circuit board in the sensor. I repaired mine myself.

Replace the worn brake pads. If that has been done, then the warning lamp needs to be reset ... best leave that to an authorized dealer. On a 1998 LS400 (perhaps all other years too), there is a "closed-circuit" wire that is clipped onto the brake pads. It is located and designed in such a way that when there is plenty of pad left, the closed-circuit wire is simply left alone. However, when the pad wears down close to its end, this wire ends up touching the spinning rotor, thus becoming an "open-circuit" and then trips the computer, telling you that you need brake service. This wire, when new pads are inserted, now returns to a closed circuit because it is not touching the rotor. BUT, if you either 1. wait too long to change pads while the warning light is on, or 2. have had multiple brake jobs, THEN this wire will end up rubbing against the rotor and thus break / wear through. With a broken wire, the brake light will remain on, unless you either solder a new piece of similar gauge wire to replace the missing piece, OR purchase a new sensor assembly. I did a simple solder, and it works perfectly, and didn't cost me any $. ALSO, before trying this method, try disconnecting the battery for a minute or two. I don't recall for sure, but it may be possible that the brake light will turn off with this battery reset. If the light still stays on, then try checking the sensor wires on the front wheels. Don't forget it's a good idea to always disconnect the battery before doing any work; especially when performing this type of repair / soldering. I hope this helps you.

There is no reset for taillamp failure relay. If there is a fault the message will continue to be displayed www.lextechautomotivellc.com

1. Remove the V-Bank cover.

2. Drain the engine coolant.

3. Remove the radiator cap from the radiator reservoir.

Caution: To avoid the danger of being burned, do not remove the radiator cap while the engine and radiator are still hot, as fluid and steam can be blown out under pressure

4. Remove the water filler plug from the throttle body.

5. Remove the 3 drain plugs on the engine and radiator, and drain the coolant.

6. Close the 3 drain plugs. Tighten the drain plug to 108 inch lbs. (12.7 Nm).

7. Refill with engine coolant.

8. Slowly fill coolant to the throttle body until it is full.

Note: Use of improper coolants may damage engine cooling system.

Note: Use "Toyota Long Life Coolant" or equivalent and mix it with plain water according to the manufacturer's directions.

9. Use of the coolant which includes more than 50% (freezing protection down to −31°F (−35°C)) or 60% (freezing protection down to −58°F (−50°C)) of ethylene−glycol is recommended, but not more than 70%.

Note: Do not use an alcohol type coolant or plain water alone.

The coolant should be mixed with plain water (preferably demineralized water or distilled water). Capacity (w/ Heater): 11.6 qts

10. Install the water filler plug to the throttle body. Tighten plug to 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm).

11. Slowly pour coolant into the radiator reservoir until it is "FULL".

12. Install the radiator cap.

13. Bleed the cooling system.

14. Start the engine, and open the heater water valve.

15. Maintain the engine speed at 2,000 − 2,500 rpm, and warm up the engine.

16. Stop the engine, and wait until the engine coolant cools down.

17. Refill coolant into the reservoir until it is "FULL".

18. Check engine coolant for leaks.

19. Check engine coolant specific gravity correctly.

20. Reinstall the V-Bank cover.

if you have to remove fuses rack make sure remove negative cable first

I have the same problem with my Nissan 240SX 91. Speedometer moves a little and stuck there! But the odometer work! Is that something to do with speed sensor? 93 LS400 takes either NGK BKR6EP11, or Denso PK20R11 spark plugs with .043 gap.

To load an update DVD to a 2001 LS430 you must first:

Open truck

· Removed carpeted mats

· To the right remove carpeted truck floor panel, about a foot long and a half a foot wide

· You will find a black box that is bolted with two screws on either side of the box

· Remove screws and pull black box free from its location

· On the front of the black box find a slide device and slide to open DVD slot

· Ignition must be engaged

· Push the button under the slide device to eject the DVD

· Insert new DVD and follow instruction on the screen

· Insert black box in the slot and fasten the two screws

Re Replace carpeted mats and you are good to go

I believe 90,000 miles. You should consider changing the water pump and tensioner at the same time since you will be in there.

The fuel pump ecu is located behind the plastic panel in the back on the driver's side beneath the back window. It's held in by one bolt and a wiring harness it's fairly easy to install and will save you some money, rather than taking it to the dealership.

There is one fuse panel next to the dead pedal on the drivers side of course and there is also one right in front of the battery under the hood. Replacing the fuses under the hood can be very tricky. See your local dealers parts guy for instructions on how to replace these fuses because most of them don't just pull out.
