In poor condition it is worth $30 in Like new condition it is worth $150
Facing the front of the car with the hood open, on the drivers side follow the radiator hose down till you come to a junction where you see two bolts, that is where the thermostat is.
5x114.5 or 5x4.5, they are the same pattern one is in mm and the other in inches. This was the size for '68-'72 Lincoln MarkIII and Continental.
I would like to add that on my 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII I experienced a more of a vibration sound and feel from the transmission during shifts that is best described as driving off the main highway lane onto the vibration pad in the emergency lane. This rumble or vibration is caused by a failure in the accumulator and piston spring setup in the transmission (usually a broken spring). There is a Ford service builetin on it and there are upgrade parts available and the repair is an easy home mechanic fix. But I fear if you hear grinding that you could have bands wearing out in tranny?... worst news is that these trannsmissions are not cheap to have worked on and installed by local shops and dealers ranging from transmission alone 1400-2k$ not including labor. But you can find the transmission for 600$ with waranty if the force is with u, And let me tell you there arn't that many jedi out there.
AnswerOn my 93 mark 8, there is often a brief "chatter" before the transmission warms up during gear shifting. Once the transmission fluid is warmed up this stops. If you have excessive chatter, try changing the tranny fluid. There is a difference between grinding and chatter, one sounds like something slipping and gripping back and forth quickly, the other sounds like metal on metal.

Clutch chatter is a problem but not always a immediate bad one and I've heard of it being fixed by using the right transmission fluid or an additive.
Change the filter and the oil of the transmission.
Because your filter is dirty with too much dust to let the oil trough the filter.
And the oil could be dirty too.
Possibly the keyswitch.
In excellent condition around $350 in good condition around $150. mfg 1990-1996
Your question is too broad. Is the car riding low? Just front, or just back or both?
to high front and back
Return the rims for the correct ones.
reach below the bumper there should be a lever there just above the front licence plate mount . pull it and the hood should pop open enough to get at the auxiliary latch in the middle front under the hood edge.
I could not find any for mine because of the ABS can that sits directly in the way on the passenger side. I ordered a nice set from Stan, Ford Powertrain Products and they in no way form or fashion come close to fitting. He sold me a very nice set of headers that he had no idea if they would fit my 71 or not. He said they would but when I got them it was obvious that he just wanted to make a sale and hope they would fit. If you keep the ABS canister in tack, I don't see any header fitting on a stock 71 Mark 3. Take the canister off, then they might. He was not a pleasant person to deal with after the sale. Looks like to me if you are selling a premium product for a premium price, you would know EXACTLY which models the headers fit. Good luck on your search.
It's located passenger side in the back of the engine, one bolt and one nut for removal. Hope you have small hands it's a PITA to get at. Removal of the throttle body will help somewhat. Good luck!
Don't know what you are asking about the IAC, Idle Air Control, location is passenger side of the engine in the back of the intake. Really a pain to get at but if your idle is out of whack, the Idle Air Control valve either has to be cleaned or replaced.
If you don't have the service manual, e-mail a Lincoln dealer, parts department and they will e-mail you the diagram you need, one under the hood and the other on the drivers' side.
the bolts are under the head lights. open the hood find the screws for the head lights should be two, and a small one on the out side of the car pull them and the head light and the bumper bolts are there. you also have to unbolt the grill its easily reached from under hood
there is not a ignition module on these like earlier fords, no distributor-cam and crank sensors deliver information to the ECU and it determines spark by the feedback from these sensors. the ECU is located directly above the drivers feet, behind the panel.
The color is black (3xblack) a very disable color combination for collectors
