Where is the fuel pump Inertia switch located on a Lincoln Mark VII?
their are two holes in the carpet above the spare tire one rectangle and one round the switch is behind the round cutout in the carpet a round switch with a red button if the button is up its popped.
On my 1988 LSC it was in the trunk wall drivers side. Should have a st icker pointing to it.
lsc coupes are very well designed. placing "aftermarket" headers doesn't really do much but cost you money. these cars are very fast as is, think... it was after all based on the ford gt mustang engine and tranny. performance wise, as a mark 7 owner i wouldn't change anything.
LOL performance wise?...I think you mean "economically"
AnswerIn specific, yes, the vehicle did come with factory headers as well as true dual exhaust. AnswerOK...So Im assuming that by headers you mean aftermarket...all cars have "headers" aka exhaust manifolds. Changing the exhaust manifolds is a GREAT idea to add extra horsepower and torque to your Mark. One of the weakest links on the 5.0 motor is the exhaust. The factory exhaust manifolds on the 5.0 are tiny little tubes of metal that choke your motor from breathing. If youre thinking of doing ANY kind of horsepower adding upgrades, don't start anywhere else but with new exhaust and intake components (upper and lower). 1 5/8" headers are ideal. Equal or unequal length are good, longtubes are the best but require some extensive work for the average do-it yourselfer. In my opinion start with a good catback system (mufflers, H-pipe, etc.) before you go getting involved with new headers. Just think of your motor as needing to breathe easier to make more power. The 5.0 motor is such a dog compared to what it could be...even in a Mustang...trust me, I do this for a living...these guys that posted before me just must not like fast cars =) AnswerI agree with the last post. The headers on the Marks just like the Mustangs are tiny. After market headers as long as they are larger diameter will make a difference. I owned a Mark myself. You should really upgrade the hole system but I know alot of the time people don't have $300 to drop on a new system. Headers would be a good place to start. Down the road you may want to look into getting you exhaust ports matched to the diameter ao the headers as well. They are alot smaller, but I strongly sugguest you have this done by a professional shop.hell yea after market headers will add power, look at the baby headers that came with the car.
ANSWER
I have a fully worked out 91 LSC special edition black. Leave the stock exhaust headers! They are plenty to push anything that the engine can handle. Get rid of the "4" cats and replace with 2 high flows to keep it legal. Switch to an Ford Explorer intake manifold from the junk yard (will require custom hood work to fit underneath) And put in some 1.7 roller rockers. If youre gonna go that far, MSD ignition and high power coil is recommended. I also converted to a stick shift...and i eat mustangs up all the time
You can get the code numbers they should be on the side off a small black box between the rear speakers inside the trunck. There is where I found mine. Hope you Find It.
How do you unplug the rear drain holes on your 1992 Lincoln mark 7 factory sunroof?

How do I Reset the air ride for 1990 mark 7?

Where is the fuel pump relay on a Lincoln mark VII?
The fuel pump relay is located in the trunk, on the driver's side. Look up near where the truck lid hinge is. The relay is attached to the sheet metal with either a plastic gromet or a sheet metal screw. The relay is a push together unit to the mounting. Either 4 or 5 wires. You'll see the Ford part numbers on the bottom of it. I just replaced mine for, $15.00 from Kragen. Didn't solve the lack of current to the fuel pump though. A good source of info is, www.lincolnmarkviiclub.com. Go to the question and answer forum.
Change your fuel filter. Also make sure you didn't trip the fuel cut-off switch. Happened to me.
Why is stereo killing battery?
The biggest problem I've had with my Mark VIII wasn't the stereo so much as it was an after-market alternator. I've been thru several from chain parts stores and until I sucked it up and bought the factory/dealer unit, I have ALWAYS had charging problems and low battery voltage. Especially whenever I played my stereo. The after-market units apparently don't seem to communicate with the cars computer properly. If you have an alternator from anywhere else, bite the bullet. It's worth the extra money.
How do you remove a ball joint on a 89 Lincoln mark vii?

Can 22 rims fit on a Lincoln mark 7?
not recommended, you will have to eliminate the air bag suspension, put coils in the vehicle. reason your airbags are not designed to operate at full capacity. they will blow then you will have 22" jack stands.
What to remove from Lincoln mark 7 after spring conversion?
You really don't have to remove anything but the air bags and turn off the switch for the air ride system... But if you want to you can remove the Air Ride light bulb that will be on all the time, take out the compressor next to the battery, pull the air ride computer out which is next to the switch, and the hardest job would be removing all the air lines and the wire harness for it ... I would take everything off and sell all the good parts on ebay and you could get back some of the money you spent on the spring conversion kit.
What wheels will directly bolt onto a 90 Mark VII LSC?
Its kind of a toss up as to what wheels will fit a mark vii although we have 5 stud hubs and axles the problem lies in the front hub and bearing. Most new model fords SN-95 or newer have the hub machined at a 45 degree angle. The problem with most wheels is that the hub sticks to far out without being machined. The second problem is that if you find wheels that fit or machine the hub the center ca[s for the wheels most likely wont fit because of the endcap for the bearing assembly. Machining the rotors are not that difficult i did it in my drive way with a 5 in die grinder. I have 99-04 mustang bullitt wheels on my mark. good luck
Remove the hydroboost unit from the firewall and replace it with the vacuum assisted booster. If you are careful you may be able to do this without disconnecting the brake lines. You will need new powersteering lines and find a vacuum source for the new booster.
if they are like the 85 air bag suspen they have an electronic bleed off valve on the bag
Would any part of a 5-year auto loan be considered a current liability?
The portion of payments due in the current period (1 yr) are considered the current portion of long term debt; the remainder would be considered long term debt, though this is difficult to justify, given that auto loans are consumer debt - that is debt that is not tax deductable. How do you troubleshoot the air ride suspension on a 1995 Lincoln Mark VIII?
To check the bags, soapy water them and if you see bubbles then you know you have a leak.
Does the 86 Mark 7 have 9 inch rear end?
No it doesn't have a 9 inch rear... All though I really wish it did... It is a 8.8 inch ring gear and it is also an integral differential. Meaning that the only way to access the gears is to remove the rear cover. The 9 inch Ford rear was a bullet proof rear end. It has what they call a removable carrier and also you can just remove the pinion gear by itself. What made these rears so great was on the end of the pinion gear was a snout that slipped into a roller cage type bearing, so when under heavy excelaration the ring gear won't bend the pinion gear and break off destroying the whole rear end... This was a problem on all GM cars with a 10 bolt rears. The 12 bolt rears were a bit stronger but a lot of guys who drag raced their GM cars would put 9 inch Ford rears in them. Then a company called "Strange" bought the patten rights from Ford so they started using their 8.8 rears... I had to rebuild mine in my 89 Mark VII twice now and the 2nd time I put a 3.73 gear set in it and replaced the 3.27. If it was a 9 inch I'd still be driving it without ever taking it apart, only changing the gear oil in it every 25,000 to 50,000 depending on how much I was towing my camper... I've been using Mobil 1 Synthetic 75/140w since I bought.
How long can a mark vii engine last?
As these are outstanding engines !! Treat them well and they will give back !! I have an 89 Mark and right now it has 301,000 miles !! Change the oil and(good) filter every 2500 miles and give it PREMIUM Fuel !! Make sure the cooling system is always in good condition, and drive belt. Also really good spark plugs and wires !!

Does the air bag system handle as well as coil springs?
I converted my 1990 LSC with a kit from strutmasters and notice very little diffference overall, and have noticed bodyroll is less in the slalom with the springs.
