How do you change the hub assemblies on a 1997 Lincoln mark viii to pre 2005 mustang cobra assemblies?

use the stock front hubs from a 1994 mustang, as for the rear use the hubs that fit a 1999 COBRA and you will now be bale to use 5 on 4.5 wheels. Note you will need all new rotorsand also 1/4 inch shims between the wheels and rotors. Dust sheilds will need some slight rework as not to rub

What kind of gas do you use for a lincoln mark?

Premium unleaded is recommended for the Lincoln Mark series. Apparently you can use regular but I've heard/read of reduced performance and mileage.

I've always used premium in my 93 Mark VIII and it runs very smoothly. For me, the 20 cents/gallon price difference isn't worth risking extra wear and tear to the engine.

Will Thunderbird springS fit a Mark VIII?

From my understanding, there are no springs that will fit the Mark VIII. I had to replace my air bags with springs and Front struts. it's a conversion kit. Check out strut masters. I paid to have the rear springs put on, but did the front struts myself with no help. I jacked the car up, took the olds airbags out then using a jack I lifted the struts into place tighten the three bolt on top. not to tight. This held the struts in place, while I worked dropped the wheel hub. the struts then went right in there. I tighten everything and I was good to go. I saved myself over $300 by doing it myself.

Where can you get back glass seal for 93 Lincoln mark viii?

Can the hid lights on a 1996 Lincoln mark viii lsc be changed to regular lights?

You can easily change to regular lights, all you have to do is bypass the amp that's located behind the radiator on the passenger side. Make sure you disconnect the battery before you touch ANYTHING, because the amp creates enormous amounts of power that could actually be fatal. Hard to imagine from a 12V Battery right? Once you bypass the amp, you'll have to find a way to fit a regular bulb in your hid light sockets...just be creative.

Where is the automatic headlight sensor in a 1983 Lincoln Continental mark vi--is it not the hi-beam sensor behind the grille?

It's the same unit, and the cause of my headlights flickering when I drive under street lights. I disconnected it for this reason. Actually, the automatic headlight sensor (aka the "autolamp" sensor) is located under the dashpad. If you look toward the middle of the dashpad, near the base of the front windshield, you will see a small honeycomb pattern approximately 1.5 inches in diameter. The autolamp sensor is located directly below this (if you're trying to get to this sensor, you'll obviously have to remove the pad -- two screws in each defrost vent, one of each side, and several screws under the front lip -- pull the entire pad up and toward the back of the car and voila). Make sure to NEVER place anything over the autolamp sensor area, as it will block ambient light and activate the headlamps unnecessarily.

There is also a high beam sensor located in the front grille. This sensor basically sees the headlights of oncoming cars and switches your headlights to low-beam accordingly. If you are having issues with it flickering under streetlights, my first suggestion would be to take a soft cloth and clean its lens very well. Then, use the right wing of the headlight switch to adjust the distance sensitivity. If you don't want it to work at all, turn it all the way toward the up position, then pull the high-beam switch stalk toward you to disengage the high beams. Otherwise, move the right wing of the headlight switch downward and it will increase the distance before the lights flick from high to low beam.

How can you know if one of your eight ignition coil pack modules are going bad on your Lincoln Mark VIII?

you should change those every 100000 miles. but if it feels sick its a good idea

If your mark VIII has 8 coil packs, then ur loking at the wrong thing. It has 4 coil packs. each one actually fires 2 cylinders at once ..only one of them is actually in the correct position at any one time.

How do you change brake pads on a 1993 Lincoln mark viii?

Are there lowering springs on a Lincoln Mark VII?

there is a coil spring conversion made by Arnott, i have it on my 91 LSC SE and the ride is so much better, i would check out Eibach, Tein, and other spring companies, as well as cross reference parts from a thunderbird/cougar/mustang of the same year range There are ride height adjusters under the front and rear of the car to lower the car all you need to do is adjust these and you can drop it at least a couple inches. only make sure car is supported by jack stands when doing so.

Will 22 fit 1995 Lincoln mark 8?

Can you fill the airbags manually on a 1995 Lincoln mark viii?

Answer:YES: Each of the four air bags has a solenoid near the top of the air bag. Switch off the air suspension on/off switch on the drivers side in the trunk. For the front solenoids you will need to lift the car and remove one front tire. Locate the height sensor the vertical piece that looks like a bellows. It unclasps at the top, from a retaining ball.Locate the solenoid at the top of the air bag, you will see an electrical connection and the black air line, disconnect the electrical line that goes into the base of the solenoid. You will find two pins in the solenoid connection. You will need to attach an electrical line to each pin, the lines should be at least 36 inches long. Disconnect the air line from the base of the solenoid, and to do this push on the red ring with a flat screw driver and pull the line with equal force. The line maybe difficult to remove as the red ring has four points to grip the line from falling out. As a last result you can try removing the line from the dryer at the front of the right front wheel well, behind the bumper. You will need an air compressor and a line with a small trigger valve that will fit into the air intake of the solenoid, a spare battery, and a person to help. Connect the two electrical lines to the solenoid (use two small clips attached to the electrical lines).DO NOT ATTACH THEM TO THE BATTERY YET. Push the air line into the air intake on the solenoid, ask your helper to touch the two other lines to the battery, one to the negative one to the positive, you will hear a click from the solenoid, then press the compressor line trigger to pump air into the air suspension bag. To stop the flow of air disconnect one lead from the battery. DO NOT OVER INFLATE try five seconds of air initially. Replace the wheel, and without removing the electrical lines lower the wheel to the ground to check the height. If the fender height is slightly above the top of the wheel, then raise the opposite side in exactly the same way. After inflating the second side lower it to the ground, and you will note that the first side has lifted more as there are now two bags inflated. Reconnect the height sensors. For the rear you do not have a height sensor to content with, so raise the rear and you will need to access the solenoid from under the rear of the car. complete the operation in the same manner as the front. You will now have all four air bags lifting your car.Never go under a vehicle with safety jacks. Do not switch the air suspension switch back on.

How do you remove the drivers door panel on a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII?

Very easy and no broken clips to be dealt with either!!!! Remove the small blank plug below the interior door handle which will expose a small bolt head, take that bolt out and then remove the lamp assemble at the lower rear position of the door panel by carefully prying up on the rear-most edge of the lamp itself. Unplug the lamp and remove the Phillips head screw behind the lamp. Roll the window down and then shut the key off. LIFT the entire door panel very carefully straight up and keeping the door panel very close to the door, unplug the 4-5 connectors for the power windows, locks, speakers and door handle lamp and then the door panel can be pulled free of the door. The door panel has molded in "hooks" whch hold the panel to the door. Be careful not to bend the door lock rod when reinstalling by pushing the lock down. Make sure you have the keys removed from the car when reinstalling the panel and make sure you plug ALL the plugs back ini upon reinstallation.

Where do you find the horn on a Lincoln mark 8?

If it's the horns themselves that you are asking about, if my memory serves me, they should be by the radiator.

98 Lincoln mark 8 abs and traction control light is on had car scanned and said batt low output-voltage?

Alternator is probably going. Have it tested and replace it with the 130 amp alternator for a 96 Cobra. It fits fine. All you have to do is free up a few inches of wire by undoing the wire loom and pulling them out a little. The crappy one they use for the Mark VIII is a Mitsubishi putting out 120 amps. It was never designed to be re-built properly. Avoid the hassle and buy one from Ford. Do not waste money at a parts shop buying no-name alternators...warranty or not...if you have to change it every 2 years and get stranded somewhere, it's no deal.

Also, check your battery. It may be running low and should be fully charged before connecting it to a new alternator. Buy a new battery at the same time as the alternator if you think yours is weak. Batteries should put out about 12.3 - 12.5 when the cars not running and about 13.4 - 14 running.

(95 Mark VIII Owner) To help confirm; I have gone through several Parts Store alternators. In the process I have ALWAYS had charging problems. Even with new alternators and new batteries. Suck it up and buy the Ford OEM model. It WILL save you a multitude of headaches. And yes, I too have had to change it out every couple of years. And have been left stranded. Not only by the alternator, but also the Parts Store with the "Lifetime" warranty.

How do you change oil sensor on Lincoln mark 8?

It's probably easier taking the oil filter off then be careful disconnecting the wire plug and either a socket or wrench unscrew the sensor, it's a real pain because very little room to work, good luck.

How do you replace a multifunction switch on a 1993 Lincoln mark viii?

You have to remove the top and side covers on the steering wheel column, remove I think 4 screws-bolts, disconnect the wire connection, and remove the old switch.
