Windows will not roll down in a 97 Lincoln Mark VIII?

If both sides don't work, I'd check the master on the drivers' side, then the one on the passenger side if they still don't work then the fuse box would be checked. Not likely that both motors would go out at the same time unless that is the way you bought it and the owner didn't fix one then the other one went out.

Is there a Lincoln mark VIII SRS?

There are two models of the Lincoln Mark VIII. The base or standard MARK VIII and the Mark VIII LSC. The LSC was introduced halfway through the 1995 model year, and continued to the end of the Mark VIII production. SRS refers to the SUPPLIMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (air bags). This is why you may see the letters SRS on the panel above the glove box area and on the steering wheel horn pad.

97 Mark VIII door panel removal and Where are all the bolts I only found 2 Diagram would help?

Answer

Here's how you do it on a '97.

  • Remove the cover for the side mirror screws, in the front pillar. Just pull it gently straight out.
  • Remove the "cup" around the inside door handle by prying carefully with a screwdriver. Take care of the vinyl.
  • Locate and remove an 8mm hex bolt in the access hole just under the window control panel lower edge.
  • Pry two-toned door light on lower back side, carefully to protect the vinyl. Remove long Phillips screw located inside. At this point the panel is free.
  • Lift the panel up until it clears the window sill and door lock button. Carefully separate from the door until you can reach behind. BEWARE: there are several electrical connectors to disconnect.
  • Holding the panel so it doesn't drop and damage the cables, disconnect the wires going to the tweeter. You'll need a flat screwdriver to pry up the retained tab. Then disconnect each of the other cables that are connected to the now loose door panel. You may require someone to help you with this.

Installation is done by reversing the procedure. Be sure the top edge of the panel drops completely into the window sill; watch that the lock button goes in its hole. There is a horizontal mark on the front edge of the door that must coincide with the rubber-coated section of the panel when installed correctly.

How do you change the hub assemblies on a 1997 Lincoln mark viii to pre 2005 mustang cobra assemblies?

use the stock front hubs from a 1994 mustang, as for the rear use the hubs that fit a 1999 COBRA and you will now be bale to use 5 on 4.5 wheels. Note you will need all new rotorsand also 1/4 inch shims between the wheels and rotors. Dust sheilds will need some slight rework as not to rub

What kind of gas do you use for a lincoln mark?

Premium unleaded is recommended for the Lincoln Mark series. Apparently you can use regular but I've heard/read of reduced performance and mileage.

I've always used premium in my 93 Mark VIII and it runs very smoothly. For me, the 20 cents/gallon price difference isn't worth risking extra wear and tear to the engine.

Will Thunderbird springS fit a Mark VIII?

From my understanding, there are no springs that will fit the Mark VIII. I had to replace my air bags with springs and Front struts. it's a conversion kit. Check out strut masters. I paid to have the rear springs put on, but did the front struts myself with no help. I jacked the car up, took the olds airbags out then using a jack I lifted the struts into place tighten the three bolt on top. not to tight. This held the struts in place, while I worked dropped the wheel hub. the struts then went right in there. I tighten everything and I was good to go. I saved myself over $300 by doing it myself.

Can the hid lights on a 1996 Lincoln mark viii lsc be changed to regular lights?

You can easily change to regular lights, all you have to do is bypass the amp that's located behind the radiator on the passenger side. Make sure you disconnect the battery before you touch ANYTHING, because the amp creates enormous amounts of power that could actually be fatal. Hard to imagine from a 12V Battery right? Once you bypass the amp, you'll have to find a way to fit a regular bulb in your hid light sockets...just be creative.

Where is the automatic headlight sensor in a 1983 Lincoln Continental mark vi--is it not the hi-beam sensor behind the grille?

It's the same unit, and the cause of my headlights flickering when I drive under street lights. I disconnected it for this reason. Actually, the automatic headlight sensor (aka the "autolamp" sensor) is located under the dashpad. If you look toward the middle of the dashpad, near the base of the front windshield, you will see a small honeycomb pattern approximately 1.5 inches in diameter. The autolamp sensor is located directly below this (if you're trying to get to this sensor, you'll obviously have to remove the pad -- two screws in each defrost vent, one of each side, and several screws under the front lip -- pull the entire pad up and toward the back of the car and voila). Make sure to NEVER place anything over the autolamp sensor area, as it will block ambient light and activate the headlamps unnecessarily.

There is also a high beam sensor located in the front grille. This sensor basically sees the headlights of oncoming cars and switches your headlights to low-beam accordingly. If you are having issues with it flickering under streetlights, my first suggestion would be to take a soft cloth and clean its lens very well. Then, use the right wing of the headlight switch to adjust the distance sensitivity. If you don't want it to work at all, turn it all the way toward the up position, then pull the high-beam switch stalk toward you to disengage the high beams. Otherwise, move the right wing of the headlight switch downward and it will increase the distance before the lights flick from high to low beam.

How can you know if one of your eight ignition coil pack modules are going bad on your Lincoln Mark VIII?

you should change those every 100000 miles. but if it feels sick its a good idea

If your mark VIII has 8 coil packs, then ur loking at the wrong thing. It has 4 coil packs. each one actually fires 2 cylinders at once ..only one of them is actually in the correct position at any one time.

Front brakes are done the usual way but the back pistons have to be screwed into the calibers not pushed in.

Are there lowering springs on a Lincoln Mark VII?

there is a coil spring conversion made by Arnott, i have it on my 91 LSC SE and the ride is so much better, i would check out Eibach, Tein, and other spring companies, as well as cross reference parts from a thunderbird/cougar/mustang of the same year range There are ride height adjusters under the front and rear of the car to lower the car all you need to do is adjust these and you can drop it at least a couple inches. only make sure car is supported by jack stands when doing so.
