Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak built the company Apple to produce computers using a very "Zen" philosophy. They thought computers should be easy to use, as well as pleasing to the eye both inside and out. Interior hardware layout has always been an art to Apple, and it has served them well throughout the years and allowed them to make super-compact models such as the Mac Mini and the Macbook Air. Financial gain was another goal of the business, of course.

Operating system development as a hobby has a large cult-like following. As such, operating systems, such as Linux, have derived from hobby operating system projects. The design and implementation of an operating system requires skill and determination, and the term can cover anything from a basic "Hello World" boot loader to a fully featured kernel. One example of this is the Minix Operating System-an OS that was designed by A.S. Tanenbaum as a teaching tool but was heavily used by hobbyists before Linux eclipsed it in popularity.

What happens after the book Halo: Ghosts of Onyx has yet to be determined. The Halo novel that followed this one is called Contact Harvest. It is a prequel to the novels and tells of the first encounters between Human and Convenant forces and the beginning of the war. The Spartans from Onyx, I assume, are still alive because they are trapped in an Earth-like Dyson Sphere that may bear the neccesities to survive, such as food and water. Hopefully the story will be continued through another novel and finished.

I believe Keynote on the Mac has an option on the "File" menu, "Export", that lets you save the Keynote presentation in various formats, including Quicktime video and Flash.

You can indeed launch a jar file from the command line, with the following command:

java -jar yourfile.jar

As well as this you can assign "Jar Launcher" as the default app. to use when you double-click a jar file, as follows (I don't believe you need the developer tools installed for this):

Click once on the .jar file in the Finder and then from the menubar in the Finder select File -> Get Info". Click on "Open with" and from the popup menu select "Other". A file browser window will open. In this window, go to the /System/Library/CoreServices folder and select 'Jar Launcher'. Then make sure the "Always Open With" checkbox is checked and then click Add. Then click the "Change all" button so that any jar file will be opened automatically. Finally, close the Info window and now when you double-click any of your jar files they should run automatically.

Nevermind, I apparently forgot that on the Mac, things are under Firefox-Preferences. I still can't get ESPN Insider's "Rumor Central" to load without getting an error message about cookies. Maybe there's a temporary problem with ESPN's site. I have VirusBarrier X5 and just ran a scan - no problems. Also, I'm not even aware if there are any active viruses out there that can affect Mac OS X Leopard.

The Apple II, introduced in 1977, was powerful computer for it's time. It featured colour graphics, a built in BASIC programming language, and had several expansion slots which meant other companies could provide add on parts for it. The Visicalc spreadsheet, first introduced in 1979 and the first spreadsheet available for a personal computer, was responsible for making the Apple II a serious business computer rather than a enthusiast/hobbyist machine. The popularity of the Apple II meant it was refined and updated until it was discontinued in 1993.

Drag-and-Drop or DnD is the action of clicking on a virtual object and dragging it to a different location or onto another virtual object. In general, it can be used to invoke many kinds of actions, or create various types of associations between two abstract objects.

As a feature, support for drag-and-drop is not found in all software, though it is sometimes a fast and easy-to-learn technique for users to perform tasks. However, the lack of affordances in drag-and-drop implementations means that it not always obvious that an item can be dragged.

The basic sequence involved in drag-and-drop is:

1).Press, and hold down, the button on the mouse or other pointing device, to "grab" the object

2)."Drag" the object/cursor/pointing device to the desired location

3)."Drop" the object by releasing the button.
