Pop the hood. Behind the drivers side head light you will see a square plastic box. Remove the screws around the outside edge. Pull it up and you will see the square filter.

I've been trying to answer the same question for my 2001 MPV. The short answer is, "who cares", because the 2.5L Mazda MPV engine uses dual timing chains instead of a single or dual timing belts. Interference is only a serious issue or concern on engines using timing belts. But because timing gears or timing chains don't break every 60,000 miles like a timing belt, interference is a non-issue on engines that don't use belts.

My research has been hampered by the fact that although Mazda manufactured a 2.5L V6 for many of it's vehicles of this era, like the 626 and the Millenia, the 2.5L V6 in the 2000 and 2001 (and maybe newer?) MPV was made by Ford, and is a completely different engine.

The Ford 2.5L "Duratec" engine was also used in the Ford Contour and the Mercury Mystique. I mention this because I cannot find a repair manual that applies to my 2001 Mazda MPV. But both Haynes and Chiltons have manuals for the Contour, and the engines are the same. So if you need a engine repair reference, check out the Ford manuals.

A frustrated Mazda MPV owner!

I had the upper intake gaskets replaced at a cost of $181.00 but this also included new spark plugs. Two intake gaskets $18.50

35 psi on the original or reccommended tires

Three - two front off each manifold and one in the exhaust pipe.

There is a cluster of fuses under the hood on the drivers side. It is covered by a black plastic cover. Remove the cover and you will see about 7 or 8 fuses going from front to back. Find the 3rd fuse from the front, should be labeled 40. Remove the fuse by gently tugging with needle nose pliers. Once removed, turn the key on and no lights should be on, apparently this will disable ALL warning lights(this is to insure that you have the correct fuse). Turn the key back to off and wait for at least 10 seconds before re-inserting the fuse. Start the engine and the light should remain extinguished.

When decoded, the VIN tells the country and year of manufacture; make, model and serial number; assembly plant; and in some cases it even identifies equipment specifications. The system goes something like this: sequence for characters is first A to Z, then 1 to 9, and last 0. The letters "I", "O" and "Q" are typically omitted from system. The vehicle identification number is divided into four parts: * World Manufacturer's Identification (WMI - three characters) * Vehicle Description Section (VDS - five characters) * The VIN Accuracy Check Digit * Vehicle Identification Section ( VIS - eight characters) The first character in the WMI sequence represents the country where the vehicle was manufactured. Countries like the United States (1 or 4), Canada (2) and Mexico (3) are represented by numbers while other countries such as Germany (W), Italy (Z) and Japan (J) are represented by letters. The second character refers to the manufacturer. The characters can be either letters or numbers. For example: Jaguar (A), Dodge (B), Chrysler (C), Jeep (J), Buick (4), Cadillac (6) or Saturn (8). The third character represents the vehicle type or manufacturing division. The vehicle description section consists of five characters (the 4th to 8th characters) which identify everything from the body style, engine type, and braking system to model, series, restraint system, etc. The 9th character is a VIN accuracy check digit which verifies the previous VIN numbers. It is determined by carrying out a mathematical computation developed by the Department of Transportation (DOT). The vehicle identification section includes the last eight characters in the VIN number. The numbers identify the model year (10th character) and the assembly plant for the vehicle (11th character). A number or letter may represent the model year. For example: 1998 (W), 2000 (Y), 2007 (7) or 2008 (8). The 12th to 17th characters are the actual serial number of the vehicle-these last 6 digits make the vehicle unique (think of DNA). It can also help to identify whether the vehicle was the first, the hundredth, or the last vehicle off the manufacturer's assembly line.

Check your ground wire from your neg battery to the pass side tranee. check for a breaks in wire. same for positive wire to starter and ignition. use a multi-meter.

The fuse panel is under the dash by the driver. If your parking lights are also out, your headlight/parking light/turn signal switch is bad.

YES. It is behind the plastic panel in the rear of the vehicle.

How do you replace a fuel injector on a 2001 Mazda mp

Usually located in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose Drain about 1 gallon of coolant from the radiator

Remove this housing

Make note how thermostat is installed

Clean both surfaces

Replace thermostat and gasket

Re-fill coolant slowly to prevent an air lock

Start engine and look for leaks

Run engine to normal operating temperature with heater on

Re-check coolant level

lucid logic licenses its software with a hardware bios license signed with the motherboard manufacturer according to the boards chippset.

check power going to the switch , and power coming out of the switch ,if no power check fuses and wiring for open or shorts , then remove door panel and bench test the motor basically put power to the window motor

This worked on a Mazda6 and a RX-8.

1. Open Drivers door and leave open.

2. Lock and unlock the drivers door using the power lock switch on door panel.

(not sure if this is required)

3. Insert key into the ignition.

4. Turn key to the ON and OFF position 3 times in 10 seconds. Leave key in ignition. ( i have seen others say 24 seconds for 4 & 5 combined)

5. Open and close drivers door 3 times ending with door in the open position.

(you can depress the door switch instead)

6. Door locks should respond by locking and unlocking.

7. Press any button on remote 2 times. Doors should lock and unlock.

8. If programming a second remote press any button 2 times on it and door locks should cycle again.

9. Remove key from ignition and door locks will cycle again.

10. Test remotes.

If you successfully repaired all the DTC's, the ECM will turn the light off after several ignition/drive cycles and no DTC's have returned.

It is located posterior of the flux-capacitor, to the left of the y-pipe's s bend.

1 & 1 muffler each tailpipe unless it has dual exhaust.

It is located on top of the transmission underneath the thermostat. Where the shifter linkage attaches to the transmission.

The middle row of seats does not fold forward, it tumbles towards the rear of the car. Two small levers on the floor will release the front legs of the seat and it will pivot on the rear hinges.

Behind the engine towards the top, it has two hoses connected, one on top and the other at bottom, I just replaced mine but want to get a metal one and replace the plastic one most auto parts stores sell for about $4.00
