firing order for the 93 is; 1,2,3,4, when you are standing in front of the car left to right. if the distributor is on the car the order is (standing on the drivers side looking to the passenger side) bottom left connector is 1. the rotor turns counter clockwise so 2,3,4 accordingly.. hope that helps.. to keep the timing gears im place, each gear will have a dot or arrow, pay attention to that, get the belt lined up, then used a pair of vice grips on the belt to hold it all in place You stick a jack under the oil pan but with a wood on it so you don't dent the oil pan. If the jack doesn't fit, you will have to use two jacks. One is for lifting the car enough to get the second jack under it. You then lift the engine from the oil pan just enough for the weight to be on the jack instead of the engine mounts and not actually lift up the engine. You then remove the upper right engine mount. Then, you take off the timing belt cover and a bunch of other crap that you should buy a Haynes or Chilton manual for.

The egr position sensor is made into the egr valve. Look for the egr valve and you will find a plug with wires plugged into the egr valve. These wires are for the position sensor and they go back to the ecm ( engine control monitor)< computer> James= 15 year Mazda tech just a tip= with engine COLD,reach under valve and press on plunger and see if it moves freely(not easy) but freely. I had the exact problem with mine 02 Proege and the issue was there is a resistor that controls the fan speed and when the resistor blows it only gives full current(better than no current) to the fan. I took mine to the dealer and they charged $60 to fix it, parts and labour. cheers the problem IS the resistor, i have no doubt. usually resistor are located under the dashboard on the passenger side. $60 dollars is expensice, the part im sure costs no more than 10 dolars, try to change it yourself, its basically a plug that you plug in.

Ignition timing: Hook up a timing light to the #1 spark plug wire and battery, Loosen the bolts on the distributor. With the engine running shine the light on the plastic timing mark located on the lower timing belt cover. Adjust the distributor forward or backwards as needed to align the mark on the crank pulley with the big mark on the graduated pointer on the timing belt cover. Once aligned tighten the distributor and your done.

It is in front, on the passenger side, at the bottom of the windshield washer tank. Your acces to is from the front passenger wheel under the plastic cover thatis all around the wheel. Unclip thefake-plastic screws, mostly the one close to the tank. Once you've locate the reservoir and the pump,unplug the electrical harness and the small pipe and then pull it by the upper side with a flat screwdriverand it'll come easy...It's just a snap-on pump with a rubber piece around that make it thight around the plastic pump.
