Why does the motor on a Mazda rx7 sometimes switch on one rotor?
In a Mazda RX-7, the motor may sometimes switch on one rotor due to the design of its Wankel rotary engine, which features two rotors that operate in a sequential manner. This can occur if one rotor is experiencing issues such as uneven wear, low compression, or fuel delivery problems, causing the engine management system to compensate by relying on the functioning rotor. Additionally, this behavior can be a result of the engine's design to optimize performance and efficiency under certain conditions. Regular maintenance and diagnostics are essential to ensure both rotors operate effectively.
How do you change the primary and secondary coils with igniter on your 1990 rx7?
hey i have mint pics step by step how to do it my e mail is pmeigeljr@yahoo.com
sounds like... starter.
How do you de-flood a 1988 Mazda RX7?
One other method is to hold down the pedal on the car while cranking, while I have read of this working. The EGI fuse seem to yield more consistent results.
another method to help solve the problem is to take the two main sparkplugs out . unplug the coils and then turn the motor over a few seconds. that will push the majority of fuel out of the housing. reinstall what you disconnected and try to start the motor
Is Mazda still using wankel engine?
yes they are in the Mazda rx8. you can go to rx8club.com for more info if you want
What gas should you use for your rx7?
to keep the engine in best shape, I would suggest using premium (93 octain) and every now and then feel free to redline the car between shifts....the rotary actually works better and cleaner with some occasional hard driving.
What do you do if your Mazda rx7 1991 has no rear rotor compression?
im sorry to say i think your motor is toast and there is no quick fix either a replacment motor or a rebuild.
but you you could hope that you just have 3 stuck apex seals{very un-likely} in which case look up " that ATF treatment" it has a good track recored if this is your problem
not enirely sure this is what you mean but i think you meen the 5th and 6th intake ports.
only NA Rx7's have them, all turbo version have 4 intake ports.
NA 13b engines have these ports so that the engine can take advantage of a smaller intake tract at lower rpm creating torque however later on the 5th and 6th ports are opened by actuators to release high rpm horse power. Without the 5th and 6th ports the engine would be sluggish when rpm is fairly low.
These 5th and 6th ports operate in a similar functionality to the V-tec engine of Honda civics, the 13b engine like the V-tec can change the internal dimension of the intake tract for its own benefit to get the best of both worlds, only v-tec engines do this with exhaust ports as well but that's beyond the scope of this reply.
Turbo 13b engines have no need for 6 ports, due to air being compressed 4 ports is quite sufficient to get the air into the housings.
Which is the leading and trailing spark plugs in a 1984 RX-7?
Easiest way to remember is the leading - "L" Lower and trailing "T" Top plugs. Therefore in the housing as it sits in the vehicle the lower pair is leading and the upper pair is trailing.

Where on your 1987 Mazda rx7 would you find the starter and were does the ground conect to it?
The starter is on the left side of the transmission. The starter grounds though itsself.
blueish smoke means its burning oil (too much oil i.e. you have a bad seal or maybe your oil metering pump has somehow gone insane)
thick white smoke means its burning coolant (bad seal)
black smoke means its running WAY too rich and your engine is probably about to die unless you change that
it should not puff out any smoke at any time really unless its on a pretty cold day and only until your engine warms up then it should go away because the exhaust is so hot.
Which EGI fuse is the one to pull out when de-flooding a 1988 Mazda RX7?
The "EGI INJ" fuse is the right fuse to pull out. It will stop the injectors from shooting out fuel. After pulling the fuse out, crank engine for 15 seconds, rest, crank for another 15 seconds, rest crank for another 15 seconds, rest, put the fuse back and then crank. engine should basically start. if the engine is still not starting, take out the spark plugs and put oil around the seal, thread area and replace back. Do the same previous procedure mentioned The engine should finallly turn over now and start.
