How to fix the Blower motor in a Ford Escort?
There might be some differences, based on the year of the vehicle, but on my 1998 Ford Escort ZX2, the blower motor is accessible from under the dash, on the passenger side of the car. The fan is located at the base of the cylinder-like cabinet visible under the dash, near the door column. Mark the position of the cover with a piece of chalk, (something I wish I had done) as the cover only lines up on the screw holes and pins a certain way, but can appear to fit in more than one direction. There are three small hex-head screws that hold the black plastic coveranda metalretainer ring in place. The fan motor body is held in place by the compression of the cover and retaining ring. There is a connecter under the cover that attaches the blower motor body to the car's wiring harness. This is where someone else will need to add some input, as I have not had the blower 'squirrel cage' fan off of the blower motor shaft, however, I believe if you are purchasing a new blower motor, it includes only the electric motor. (Bare shaft.) There is likely to be a screw or C-clip that holds the fan to the motor. Reinstallation is accomplished in reverse. The one trick I can offer is that I found that a pencil, with the eraser against the housing and the point caught in carpet, acted as a very handy, but makeshift, prop for the assembly while I was reinstalling the three screws, as well as holding the metal retaining ring in place. Remember that it is difficult to line up all three holes, while effectively lying head down in the floor of the passenger's side of the cabin. I found that lying across the seats from the driver's side was the most comfortable that I could manage, but it still involves hanging your head upside down while working under the dash. Also, before replacing the blower motor, be sure to test it to be sure that the problem is not in the blower motor resistor. The resistor can be found just behind, and to one side of the blower motor cover, with a pair of wire connectors coming from it. One is a single connector that runs under the blower cover to the blower motor. The other is a four wire connector that is part of the wiring harness. I tested by blower motor by (very) briefly shorting a circuit across each of the four pins to the single connector, with the key in the auxilary position. If one of the connections will start the fan, then the problem is likely to be the blower motor resistor. Good luck!

Why might your 1997 Ford Mustang not be able to shift out of park?
Having the same problem with my 98 Mustang. Found the following answer on another site about 1990 Taurus. Might help: There is a solenoid in the shifter mechanism which prevents the shifter from being moved out of park until it is energized. The brake pedal switch closes when the pedal is depressed energizing the solenoid.
With the ignition key in the run position, but without starting the engine, depress the brake pedal and listen for the click of the solenoid energizing. It is not very loud, so turn off the radio and blower. Also have someone tell you if the brake lights illuminate.
If you hear the click, but cannot move the shifter, the solenoid may be out of adjustment or the lock out pin is jammed. The shift mechanism will have to be disassembled to determine the cause.
If the click is not heard, but the brake lights illuminate, then the solenoid or the wiring to it is faulty. First have the wiring at the solenoid checked for voltage. If there is 12 volts at the solenoid, and the connector is intact, tight and free of corrosion, then the solenoid should be replaced. If there is no voltage at the solenoid, then trace the wiring back until the voltage discontinuity is found.
If the click is not heard and the brake lights do not illuminate, the brake pedal switch is faulty or out of adjustment. The switch is mounted to the brake pedal bracketry under the instrument panel. Examine the switch and try to actuate it manually. If this illuminates the brake lights, then adjust the position of the switch so that the brake pedal arm contacts it and closes the switch when the brake pedal is depressed.
If manually actuating the switch does not cause the brake lights to illuminate, examine the wiring and connectors to the switch for breaks and loose connections. If the wiring is intact, replace the switch.
There is a manual override for when the vehicle requires towing and the battery is dead. Consult your owners manual for this procedure.

Where do you put gearbox oil on berlingo?
The level filler plug is on the end of the gearbox by the tin cover under the wheelarch on the left hand side of the car. It's a 21mm with a slim bolt head, so use a socket rather than a spanner that will jump off. Sometimes its easier to undo the filler but top up via the breather hole on top of the gearbox , a black plastic cap that pulls off. Pour oil in using a funnel and pipe until it pours out of the level hole. Use 75w 90 semi synthetic gear oil ( expensive ) rather than EP 80w90 ( cheap) its too thick and will spoil the gearchange.
Where is the AC drain located in a 1997 Mercury Tracer?
I asked this question because water was leaking into my car, not out of it, when the AC was on. Many people said the drain tube was clogged. My husband finally found it located on the passenger side, in front of the firewall, directly behind the condenser. The tube itself sticks out only about 1/2 inch, he felt it rather than saw it. To clear it, he took a section of aquarium air line tubing, duct-taped it to the hose of a shop vac, stuck it into the AC drain tube & sucked out whatever was blocking it. The tube now drains freely.
