The exhaust is expelled directly from the engine using straight pipes through the stern of the boat, above the water line. Normally high speed boats are equipped with these types if exhaust system.

Your muffler is probably loose. Corrosion is common in exhaust systems and parts need to be replaced from time to time.

Pull the codes from the computer, match the code to the troubleshooting procedure, follow the procedure to find the source. Repair the source, light will go out if that was the only problem. There are "monitors" or self test the computer runs the car through, if a problem occurs, it may not run all of the self tests until that problem is taken care. Therefore, another problem may exist. It is emission related. We just found out that the check engine light on our 1993 Toyota Pickup is due to a bad "knock sensor".

Yes, you can. But its pointless because a glssspack is a muffler. Just have a glasspack installed. Or a full catback glasspack exhaust system installed

its probably your tensioner pully that's squeeling, not expensive, if purchased at an auto parts store.

Usually that means that there is too much fuel going into the intake. It can be a stuck injector, bad O2 sensor, faulty EGR valve, worn Throttle position sensor, stuck choke, plugged air filter... there are probably plenty of other possibilities. Use a code scanner to find out what the COMPUTER thinks is wrong.

On a 1994 Ford Escort, if the timing belt jumps or strips, the valve timing will allow gasoline to go through the motor unburned. Checking the timing belt alignment and a compression test should verify this problem. Check that the belt is aligned and not damaged, check for even compressioin to verify a valve is not stuck open.

Check your heat shield by the catalytic converter, and the strap around the muffler. The heat shield has a tendency to come loose, and the strap rusts on almost every 3rd gen cavalier I've ever seen

Maybe its gas comming into the exgust, then when your up to higher speed/load this gas is being burned. Other then that check your head gasket.

I had this problem on and off for over 1 1/2 years, until finally, last year, my local Toyota dealer fixed it, under warranty, repairs totaled over $1200.00! My Rav 4 is a 2001, but apparently it is a large issue because I jst received a notice from Toyota stating that there has been a problem with the system that involves the "Check Engine" light, and they requested my car be brought in, if I hadn't already done so - contact a local dealer ASAP!

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

Usually a puff of blue at start up means poor valve seals or loose valve guides.

Other symptoms depending on how bad it is are blue smoke under engine braking, like slowing from highway speed and when it gets bad Smoke at idle but not with the engine under load.

More than likely, this is just condensation from the hot exhaust gases passing throgh the exhust system. It is generally nothing to worry about. there is also a good chance of a bad head gasket.

when the engine and exhaust pipes are cold, the hot exhaust will cool and moisture will condense on the exhaust pipe and drip out. Remember basic chemestry. Automotive fuels are hydrocarbons. The hydrogen molecules in the fuel turns to very hot water vapor when the fuel burns. What you are experiencing is very normal.

possibly (1) crank seals leaking oil into combustion chamber -need engine rebuild to fix :( (2) oil pump (or premix if you ditched the pump) giving too much oil- adjust pump or reduce ratio of mix. could be very bad carb setting, flooding or choke stuck on, or filthy exhaust if it never gets a long run to heat up properly. Get a Haynes manual and it will tell you all this stuff, and how to fix it... good luck

NO!! White smoke indicates the burning of oil. The law says, "ANY smoke coming from the engine during any part of the test is grounds for failure." I've been an Emissions guy in Denver for 23 years.

White smoke is oil. Black is gas (too rich).

Black smoke can get pricey. White smoke is always pricey!!
