sounds like water pump going out, look around for coolant leaking, from passg side of motor, near timing belt cover, if so will need t/b replaced w/water pump.

I my 98 zx2 has a loud squeeling (havn't noticed the smell, but I'll check). took it to the dealership for service. they said it was a loose drive shaft and that I shouldn't worry about replacing it and would probably only get 60K more miles out of the car. let me know what else you find.

Having the same issue with my 95 Lumina. First determine if its on the left or right side, then determine if its the wheel bearing or a bearing in the drive axle. If theres clunking associated with the humming (like mine) then its most likely the latter. Is cheaper to just replace the entire drive axle too by the way

actually, it all depends on the context of the person. isuppose i am in office then definitely i would like the peace in my office. but obviously shoes make noise. but the person who is putting the shoes he must have to hold hios feet slowly as the person standing before you may not feel any dipresion

If the noise or vibration is coming from the rear axle itself, then you may have a worn set of gears in the rearend that may need replaced or adjusted. The vibration may also come from the driveshaft in need of some new universal joints. I always start with the cheapest fix and would pull the driveshaft, take it to a driveshaft repair shop and have them check balance and while it was there replace the universal joints. Reinstall the driveshaft and see if the problem is still there. If it is, then it is time to get into the rear end and pull the rear cover off and maybe determine if there is a lot of gear play, metal shavings or broken parts. It takes an experienced person to replace rear gears. Doing it wrong and getting the gear set meshed incorrectly can lead to premature failure. The average Joe can do it but plan on buying, borrowing or renting certain things to make sure you do the job correct, otherwise you will be doing it all over again. Some jobs are better left to the pros.

The figures, almost twice previous estimates, were calculated using a new statistical model. But they have been suppressed until now because the government feared they would cause social unrest, according to reports.

They come at an embarrassing time for Beijing, which is growing increasingly concerned at the country's environmental crisis, which it has promised to address.

Nevertheless, it has reacted badly to international calls to tackle the root causes, ranging from water supplies poisoned by factories to greenhouse gas emissions, to which it is now the world's greatest contributor, according to recent figures.

It says that economic growth must take priority, despite a growing number of protests, some involving violence, over individual pollution scandals.

The new study, The Cost of Pollution in China, was conducted by international and Chinese government scientists and first revealed at a conference in March.

But the state environmental protection administration and health ministry demanded that the key figures not be included for fear of causing "social instability", according to The Financial Times. One third of the report was omitted.

The missing figures revealed that 350,000-400,000 people died prematurely from outdoor air pollution. Previous World Bank figures said China had 16 of the 20 most polluted cities on earth.

An additional 300,000 died from indoor air pollution, such as the fumes from the coal-burning stoves and boilers that are the main source of heat in the country, while 60,000 died from diseases ranging from cancer to diarrhoea connected with water pollution.

Also missing from the report was a map showing the worst concentrations of premature deaths.

The World Bank in Beijing said the version of the report released at the conference was only a draft in which matters still being discussed with the government were omitted. A full report would be released "soon".

"Certain physical impact estimations as well as economic cost calculations" had been left out due to "some uncertainties about calculation methods and its application", a spokesman said.

She did not deny the validity of the new figures. The government made no comment.

well check your belts if they are loose then that could make this hapen. if the belts are not loose look at the pullys if the pullys are shiny like they have ben polished then you need new belts they are old and worout. if this dose not help then check the berings on the pullys if there is metal shavings eney where then the berings are gone but i dout that is what it is doing this the belts is my best guse

split your exhaust in 2 after the crossover or install a high flow converter and split after that and install a performance muffler like flomax, or my personal favorite thrush glass packs.
