How do you change bulbs for odometer and clock on rover 45?

Taking out the centre console.

First you'll need to remove the armrest

lever up the plastic cover under the handbrake using a flat blade screw diver from the middle of the little plastic cover on the edge nearest the rear of the car

You'll see 2 10mm bolts in there that need to be removed. (They also hold down the centre console)

Then slide both front seats right forward. Get in the back and you'll see 2 phillips screws at the bottom of each side of the armrest. Take these out, now the armrest should be free to lift up a bit. Leave it in place though, no need to disconnect the window switches, just have it floating loose.

Now get back into the front, (You may need to put the seats back for this)

There is an obvious phillips screw either side of the centre console to remove, take the ash tray out and there is another phillips screw to remove right at the back of that hole.

Now you have to carefully prise out the switches either side of the clock and disconnect the wirring from them. Now get down low and look through the holes where these switches have come out of and you'll see a hidden phillips screw either side in the switch holes. Take these out and the centre console should be able to move free (carefull of any wiring still connected though)

Now you can disconnect any more wiring, i.e. the clock and ciggy lighter socket and with a bit of jiggery pokery you should be able to manouver the centre console round to enable you to remove the clock, which IIRC has one phillips screw either side from the back.

although the above is the approved way to do it, if you take the radio/cd out, and have small hands and nimble fingers (or a small child you can bribe) it can be done that way by reaching up and round (i did it).

What does no bus mean when it shows in the odometer box?

"BUS" in this case is the computer network the different parts of the car use to talk to each other with. "No BUS" means that the odo can't hear what's going on elsewhere in the car, so it's not getting any info from the pickup in the tranny which is where it's getting its information from.

Best case, it's a bad connection that can be fixed by jiggling it about a bit.

How do you reset the odometer for a Lincoln LS?

If the Lincoln has a regular odometer and not run off the computer you can disconnect the cable and turn it in reversrse with a drill. By doing this with the intention of selling is against the law. It may be against the law period. I dont recommend this action period. Im not exactly sure about if this info is exactly correct. You do say reset so you dont really specify what you are doing, setting it up or back.

How can you fix the odometer on your 98 prizm?

How do you fix a broken odometer and speedometer on a 1995 Honda accord?

If you search the Internet (I prefer google) for "broken odometer" or some such keyword(s) - you will find your answer(s). But basically, you have two options, find a similar car/odometer at a junkyard, and replace the broken one with one that's working from there.... Or, take it (or send it....) to a speedometer shop which will be able to reconfigure the speedometer. Option 3, I found a high-tech site that details removing the dashboard, removing the speedometer from the dashboard, opening up the speedometer, replacing a broken gear in there (if it's a mechanical speedometer), then basically putting it back together in reverse. Sounded kinda technical, cause you gotta be sooo careful not to move/nudge the numbers the wrong way, or bend the odometer needle when putting it back onto the shaft.

How do i lower a digital odometer?

Mostly all the vehicles that I have worked on with a digital odometer cannot be lowered. Their is an actual manual odometer that reads to the engine computer that sends digital readout to the odometer, that cannot be reset or changed if you were to try to it would disable the vehicle and would need to be taken to the manufacturer garage for service to reset computer but would still give old odometer reading. If the computer were to come out of another car the odometer still wouldn't change. Government is very very strict with odometers these days.

I disagree with above that digital odometers "can't" be tampered with, indeed they can provided the right hardware/software is available, many digital odometers can be manipulated through a connection made on the cars diagnostic plug or through connections made to the instrument panel cluster. A search of the internet will show up many companies that sell hardware/software to do digital odometers

How do you disconnect the odometer from a 1995 Nissan truck?

Disconnecting the odometer, vin, title, or any other identifying automobile information is not only illegal, it is dishonest. I do not advise falsifying the odometer for any reason whatsoever. One more piece of information, many odometers in late model vehicles are computer controlled, so unless you are a computer scientist, you will not be able to crack the factory computer to alter this parameter.

Although, removing the "meter" fuse will disable your odometer and speedometer....

Odometer cable on 93 sl1?

Funny thing about saturns, they don't have an "odometer cable" They use a magnetic pickup assembly, located in the rear of the transmission, just above the passanger side axle output. this sensor is connected directly to the engine computer. from the computer the signal then goes to your instrument panel and is converted into electricity to drive a small motor to turn the digits which you can see. if the odometer has stopped working, replace the speed sensor on the transmission, or your instrument panel has failed.
