If it is a 3.1 it is not hard to do i did one in 20 min. If you stand in front of the car on the passanger side follow bottom radiator hose that is the water pump. There are 4 or 5 bolts holding the pully on do not take belt off yet. Break looses the bolt's first. Pull the pully off there will be at least 4 bolts holding the housing on remove them you will loose about a glass of water. Pull the old water pump out and put new one in make sure you use blue silicone or something similar for water put silicone on water pump make sure holes line up on the gasket when you put it on the pump let sit for 5 min. put silicone on other side of gasket put it right one don't let site reassemble everything and your good to go.

Depends on the engine. 4 Cylinder GM engines used a pair of timing gears (no belt), while the V-6 used a gear and chain system. Neither one used a belt (other than the serpentine belt to drive the AC, alternator, power steering and water pumps.

I can start my car fine, drive it for awhile, then its like after it gets warm it seems to stall, and shut off, then after tryin to restart a few times that battery acts as if its dead. I will sit there and wait for about 20-30 minutes and it will start right up like nothing happened, just to do it all over again. Can you tell me what the problem is?

The starter on a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera is located on the driver's side of the engine towards the bottom of the engine. It is behind the crankshaft sensor and the fusible links.

You may have overheated the engine or seized it.

Check for little things. In mine the little light in the glove box would stay on because the button was not being pushed in all the way. So I put a thick piece of tape to make the light go off. Another thing to check is the Battery. Some of them you have to add clean water from time to time for them to work. If all that and still nothing works then you have to check and see if maybe something is grounding out. I tore my whole car apart because only my head lights worked but after checking all the wiring, it was just the switch that was bad.

It takes a special gauge to install the crank sensor. It can be rented from some parts stores.

you got to take the headlight assembly out To take the assembly out, first remove the corner marker light by removing three T-5 Torx screws. This will allow access to two of the (4) 10mm hex head cap screws, remove them. The other two can be removed by entering through the 2nd slot in the grille. Onjce those two are out you may have to loosen the grille slightly to get the headlight housing ridge out from behind the grille. Once out, remove the wire holder and terminal clip. The geay angle piece and then be rotated clocwise about 10 degrees and should pop right out. (note some dumb sob designed it to rotate clockwise to remove it)

Under hood, center, upper engine area, front side of engine block, mounted in fuel line.

May have to take it to a certified speedometer repair shop

If it was an original R12 system there are conversion kits so that you can add the 134. The "recommended" way is to replace the receiver/dryer, condenser, and even the compressor and all seals. I have done the quick (and cheap) conversion to several cars and have had no problems what so ever.

Check on the passenger side firewall may have to remove plastic cover

Behind the headlight, you should see the nylon bulb holder. Turn it counter clockwise, about a 1/4 turn, and it should come out. Pull the old bulb straight out, and replace it with the new one. Don't touch the glass part of the new bulb with bare fingers, or you'll be replacing it again. Use cotton gloves or a paper towel. Put the holder back in the headlight, turn it clockwise until it locks.

Should be located in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose Drain about 1 gallon of coolant from radiator
Remove this housing
Note how thermostat is installed in housing
clean both surfaces
Install new thermostat and gasket
RE-fill coolant slowly to prevent an airlock
Start vehicle and look for leaks
Run vehicle to normal operating temperature with heater on
Re-check coolant level

The door lock/unlock relay is located behind the I/P on a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. The relay is at the RH shroud just beside the center access hole

Behind the Ashtray I just fixed mine last night. It turns out that it was attached by a clip on the right side of the ashtray frame inside the dashboard. I took out the removable "cup" part of the ashtray, then removed the two upper and two lower ashtray frame screws. Next, I pulled the frame forward and disconnected the small ashtray light. The power wire for the cigarette lighter can stay attached. After that, it was easy to replace the flasher unit.

First, remove the door panel. This includes removing all the attaching screws, then prying off the panel. There are a few plastic fasteners that will come loose. You can re-use them when re-installing the panel or buy new ones -- they're cheap. Second, take an inventory of the problem. Chances are the connecting mechanism attaching the steel rod to the door handle has busted off. You'll need to purchase a new handle off of E-bay for about $12. To install it, you will have to use a drill (about a 1/8" bit) and drill out the center of the one rivet that holds the handle in place. Once you've drilled through it (it takes a little patience and a good drill bit), the handle falls off. After feeding the endpiece of steel door rod into the new replacement handle, place the handle into place, lining up the hole in the handle to the mounting hole in the door. Then use a thick, short bolt or screw to attach it to the door at the mounting hole. Then re-attach the inside door panel. Done!
