I have same problem, same car/engine. I had diagnostic check done at Pepboys. Fuel pressure showed ok. They replaced throttle position sensor (TPS) and it ran bad/worse. They put the old TPS back on and it ran fine for about half a day. Now it is back to the same situation. I'm taking it to a different mechanic today. If I find anything out, I will let you know. The junk yard will give me $177.00 for it.

I have a 1990 Lumina Euro and my starter is right down at the bottom of the engine in front of the car. If you get down under the bumper you can see it. Actually you can see it if you have some good light under the hood. Just raise the hood and look straight down between the engine and the cooling fans. Hope this helps.

If you open the hood and stand in front of the engine, the power steering unit is located behind the radiator on to your left. Look at when the belts are and you will see a silver cap about 2" in diameter. Unscrew the cap and there is a dipstick on it indicating how high to fill the reservior. Use Dextron 3 automatic transmission fluid, there is no need to buy special power steering fluid. VBdenny

A 3.8 and a 3800 are the same engine just as a 3.1 is the same as a 3100. I have never heard of a 3.0 GM engine.

First you must drain the coolant. Remove powersteering pump[keep hoses connected)this is just to make room for water pump removal so just sit it off to he side.Loosen the the water pump pulley mounting bolts, remove the drivebelt,remove the pump pulley. Remove the pump mounting bolts and pul the pump from engine.Install every thing in reverse ,but be sure to clean the mating surface of old sealer and gasket first, also be sure to use RTV gasket sealer on engine side of the new gasket.Be sure not to over/under tighten the bolts the torque specs. are 22 to 29 for the long bolts and 96 to132 for short bolts and 108 to 132 ft lb for the pulley bolts.
