We took the electric unit out of the trunk, disassembled it and wound the screw jack to the position needed to keep the trunk closed. This took a couple of times to get it right. We left the unit unplugged and now it operates as a regular, non-self-closing trunk. The electric release still works fine.

youll have to measure for urself to be 100% sure, just take the speaker out and measure straight across, speaker sizes go by 1/2" so if it measures something like 3 3/4" it would be a 3 1/2

it might be something as simple as a fuse but it sounds to me since the car is 20 years old that its probably the power window motors located in the doors.

No, I would seek another answer to the problem. If the starter starts while the car is running, it may grind the bendix or the starter into a toothless nub and the starter will quit functioning alltogether.

Open the hood and look down at the top of the head light assembly, there should be two round "dials" unscrew these and the headlight should tilt forward and allow access to the bulb replacement port.

in the dashboard,remove the glove box then it is just above the ecm.

You have to stick your hand behind the headlight. And there is a piece of plastic on the back side if the lamp. Twist it to the driver side fender and it out and you will see the light bulb.

check with autozone or advance auto parts they can print u out a belt routing

if u go under the car you will see it near the right tire near the back

The problem could be the relay that goes to the compressor this could be faulted out causing the compressor to run constantly. However if this isn't the case then a quick check of the fuse may also resolve the problem.

These are usually sealed units and for the most part are not repairable. You might get another one from a junk yard ... or try searching the internet.

The other possibility is that the physical cable that drives a mechanical speedo could be broken. Some of these are driven off the transmission, others are driven off one of the front wheels.

Open the glove box and start there, remove any screws found holding the trim, gently pry to release tabs and find missed screws, use a proper wire harness adapter and dash istallation kit.

The 89 Olds 98 uses a series-1 3800 motor and the EGR valve is a 3 piston unit mounted on a flange with direct access to the exhaust manifold. If it literally melts things, this indicates tremendous heat getting up into the EGR assembly on a prolonged and continuous basis. 1 of 2 things seem possible. 1 The timing on the car is off so badly that the exhaust temp is running constantly way above what is should be. This could be a computer control problem, an O2 sensor issue or a partially blocked catalytic converter in the exhaust. 2 The computer (ECM) also controls the opening and closing of the 3 pintle valves in the EGR assembly - it could be malfunctioning in this area. One last thought - I had this happen - If you get water and then rust up into the 3 small pintle valves and they are then locked open and cannot function, this would allow heat to be exorbitant continuously in the unit and might cause failure. Also, the ECM is "blind" to this as it has no feedback mechanism to know if the electrical signals to these magnetic valves has properly caused them to work in the mechanical sense.

Could be a bad coil, Bad relay. Bad computer, Bad crank sensor or a thousand other things. Start with a computer scan and hope it shows a fault. If not you will have to plat the swap out game.

To replace a starter in a 1985 Olds car, raise the front end of the car with a jack, Next, remove the two support bracket bolts at the transmission and pry the support bracket away slightly to obtain access to the starter bolts.

I believe that the 94 & 95 are the same. If it is. the fuse is on the passenger side under the dash. You must remove the lower dash panel and the fuses and relays are hard to see. The fuse location on the fuse panel is listed in the owners manual, On the 95 it is the third fuse down in the middle row. They have a location chart sticker on the panel that you have to remove to get to the fuses.
