While backstage at a dance recitle What are some good snacks to pop in your mouth in-between dances?
Seedless grapes are good, provided you don't get a stomach ache from fruit. Wash them well at home and let them dry, and keep them in the fridge until you leave. Just take them with you in a small plastic container.
They make a lovely refreshing snack, don't have bits that stick in your teeth, don't leave anything you have to throw away like wrappers or pips, and they aren't noisy to eat.

Do the performing arts help kids?
I personally feel that the performing arts do help kids. It is a way in which children can build there confidence and will also help them if they are in an environment in which they have to act a certain way, by taking drama they would be able to look at the characteristics of the job and perform to the maximum level. If children take dance classes they are more likely to be unafraid at auditions and job interviews and by playing a musical instrument you are allowing them to get out teen angst and to express themselves in a way that is safe can can be done in a loving and caring environment. Also it allows kids to become more academically involved if they are dyslexic or are failing at core subjects like maths and english as they an fall back on performing arts.
At what Mormon university can you major in ballroom dancing?
BYU-Provo and BYU-Idaho (both Mormon universities) have ballroom dance companies. Similar to an athletic team, dancers can receive special scholarships to join the team. Try-outs are held annually and the team tours the world performing their routines. Utah Valley University also has a ballroom dance team, but they are not a Mormon university. Technically, none of these schools offer a major in ballroom dancing, however, you can major in dance and take ballroom dancing classes. These universities make it possible to become eligible to become a ballroom dance instructor, professional dancer, or choreographer. Check out this BYU ballroom dance website for more info.

What happened to the winners of dance x?
the bbc completely messed the whole thing up - they did have girls aloud manager in place to manage the winning team - then that flopped the whole thing was set to flop too.. there was no real talent on that show save Phoenix and Rana.. lets be honest - the choreographer was really bad and the contestants had no control what so ever - the bbc screwed up what Arlene Phillips worked so hard to achieve - she even went into Pineapple dance studios to scout for dancing talent - Rana...
so - they did try.. they did the Rihanna tour - they did a DVD and they did gig.. i think things just fell apart as they were lost once the bbc and the record company washed their hands of them because of fights between both parties over money etc gut records have liquidized and the bbc are so bad - these dancers needed nurturing not to be used and abused - a lesson learned and i hope many people learn from it

What is the history of contemporary dance?
This is a huge & complex answer - but in the short term I suggest you look at the life & work of Isadora Duncan who is often quoted as being the mother of contemporary dance. Then you should consider the work of Ruth St Denis, Ted Shawn & Doris Humphrey. After that move on to Martha Graham & later Merce Cunningham & Jose Limon. If you want the development of contemporary dance in the UK you need to look at the impact of Robin Howard (link to Martha Graham) & the London Contemporary Dance Theatre (& Dance School). This includes the work of people like Robert North, Siobhan Davies, Richard Alston, Chris Bruce, and onto some the the current younger British choreographers.
Certainly. If they can be coupled with an invitation, they are even more interesting. Many had a small pencil attached to write the names down, if that is still there it is even better.
Where is club dance music from and how club dance music begin?
Club dance originated in Chicago in the early 80s, when music technology really started to develop. This early form was the sub-genre 'House'. This was a style in which producers took disco music and made the 4/4 beat deeper and stronger. Electronic sounds were then layered over the top. This then evolved into techno, drum 'n' bass, UK garage, trance, ambient, rave and later, dub step.
