Pontiac Aztek

It is right behind the fans, right below the exhaust manifold. It is blue and has a letter "L" on it.

If you have a Owners Manual in the Glove box you can find this Information on page 6-15, if not this is what you need to do.

Turn the Key ON, but don't Start the Engine, after the dash lights quit flashing (about 3 or 4 seconds) depress and release the Gas pedal 3 times slowly within 5seconds, then turn the Key OFF. Turn the Key ON, and the Change Oil Message should be gone, if not try again. (It may take a few tries to get it to work)

If you have the Optional DIC (Driver Information Center)

Turn Key ON, but don't Start Engine, Press MODE button until DIC reads "OIL LIFE LEFT/HOLD SET TO RESET, press and hold the Set button until 100% is displayed.

You should hear 3 chimes, and the Change Oil message should go OFF, if not repeat the proceedure.

On the dash is the driver information controls. Push the "mode" button until the oil life is displayed under the speedometer. Once the oil life is displayed hold the "reset" button until the oil life resets. You will hear a chime when it resets.

Is anything else going on? Will it start? If not take the battery cables off and reattach them. This is a common problem that I have had to address with mine. With mine nothing electrical would work as well, no lights, radio, etc... If I shook the cable the lights would click on and then it would die again when I tried to start it until I removed the cable and replaced it.

try moving the steering column to a different tilt position-------

Disconnect the negative battery terminal disconnect the main output lead, and the smaller connector from the alternator Remove the drive belt Remove the front alternator bracket bolt The engine needs to be rocked forward to gain clearance for removing the rear bolts. remove the rear bolts, and the alternator.

Check the driver belt, tensioner and the a/c clutch and compressor.......

I wish I knew a better answer. My Aztek's lights can be turned off by turning the key to off position and then manually rotating the light button on the top left one click clockwise and then back all the way to the left. If I do this before I turn the key off, the damn thing will turn the lights back on again. Wish I had a better answer. It is clear that the Aztek designers thought God knew best when to turn its lights off and on.

To replace the alternator you must tip the motor. by removing the motor mounts in front on the motor.just the two top ones and than roll the motor forward. that will give you enough room to remove the alternator

It could be the electrical ignition system. there is a recall, dealers will replace the ignition relay free of charge. check it out. Pontiac tele. #1-800-620-7668

Probably because of a BAD ground. If you have 12 Volts to the light, then the light isn't grounded properly. yes sir bad ground

There is a fues that you can pull out and then put it back in. when you do that, it will reset and you should be able to use your remote or the button inside. look in your user manual for the correct fuse. also, i couldn't open mine with the remote or button, but the key would work, so you may try that. after i reset mine two or three times, it stopped getting stuck altogether and has worked fine now for a year without any more problems.

Try this, The steering wheel may be in a bind from the stress on the tire on a curb or rock or whatever, Try to turn the wheel left then right, If it will only turn one way move it a little to get the pressure off then turn key. Wiggle the wheel both ways also while turning key. Let me know if this worked.

switch should be on the bottom of the steering column ,probably have to drop the two bolts on console to get to it

You have to fix what is wrong or you can disconnect the battery and reconnect. if you take the car to most autoparts stores they can read your codes and tell you whats wrong it mya be as simple as your fuel cap

open hatchback, take screws out in jam area,,the you can tilt brakelight asembly and pull off,,then change bulb and put abck

Open the hood. Directly behind the headlamps, along the frame you will see a white tab. Pull the tab up being careful not to pull it all the way out. Reach behind the headlamps and push the plastic "bumps" away from the passenger area. The lens assembly should start to come out towards the front bumper. Pull the assembly out and disconnect the wiring harness.

The assembly should be free of the vehicle. Behind the bulb you find a rubber protective insert. Take it out to expose the bulb. Turn the bulb 1/4 turn to the right to remove the bulb. Reverse order to install the assembly.

Unfortunately, you'll have to go to the dealership, and the keys can run $30. There is a security chip in the key, and it has to be matched to the car. Most key copy stores will have a blank that looks very similar, but it doesn't have a chip in it.

Step one disconnect battery for one hour if that don't work step two check all fuses all good ok step three call a locksmith or you're local GM dealer for a reset will cost you 85 bucks good luck r.r

there is no alignment for a leaf sprung rear axle. the center pins on the springs seat into holes on the perches. that's what aligns the rear.

Have the dealer or other service tech do it for you. You have to REMOVE the band-clamped duct to access the filter housing(if it's the same as a 2002). Then you have to try and get it back on! I just attempted this yesterday and what a knuckle-buster it turned out to be. One part of the duct has an out-of-view tab that needs to be correctly re-inserted and I also had major trouble re-installing duct connection to filter housing. I will never attempt this again. Worst filter exerience I have ever had. Will have service tech check this out as I am uneasy that I have reclamped duct back to housing securely. Not worth the time spent or money saved.
Its really not that bad :) It can be a pain in the A but it can be done. I was able to undo the top clips and pull it away enough to slide the filter down in there. IT can be difficult to some and easy for others. Just be sure to get it put back together correctly. doesnt hurt to try it once, might be glad to save the 20 bucks from the repair place or make you willing to spend it. Good luck :) Answer 3 I just did this. My hands are still dirty while i am typing this. This is not too painful of a job. The air filter box cover has to swivel up, out and off at the top of the duct. The complete ducting and MAF stayed connected to the airbox cover. Be sure to keep old filter buried in its place so that it does not get in the way of swivelling up the air box cover. 1- Disconnect two electrical connectors to MAF and upper duct. Disconnect vacuum like hose at top of duct. (it pops up) 2- Loosen top duct clamp. I loosened the other two also, even though it may not be needed. 3- Compress the ducting while twisting the airbox cover up. At this point mine just popped off. 4- Swap the filter. 5- Reverse order, reconnect wires and hose. Start car to check for leaks. Ta-Daa!
