Are Porsche Carrera 4's wider than base RWD Carreras in the rear?
Owner's Manual for a 1990 911 carrera 2 and 4 on page 116 under "Dimensions " shows width to be "65.04 in./1652 mm", and wheel base to be" 89.45 in./2272 mm". Where ther is a difference between the carrera 2 and 4 , such as "weights" on page 116, separate colums for each are shown. I assume numbers are appropriate for both a 2 and 4.
What does targa from a Porsche targa mean?
Well there are coups which have "hard" roofs
Then there are cabriolets they are convertibles aka rag tops
And targa is a bit of both because it has a removable panel so you get a convertible experience but it's also a hard top in the winter.
In practice there are some issues.
It's not the full top down experience of a convertible.
Old ones tend to leak
From a purists point of view the targa is less rigid and heavier
When did Porsche replace the spare tire with a repair kit for the 911 series?
Once the 911 entered the 997 series build cycle, Porsche decided that to save weight, the spare tire, lift jack and lug wrech, would be removed from the parts installed in the front trunk and replaced with a can of tire sealant and a 12V air compressor. Perhaps they thought that since the new tire pressure monitoring system would allow you to detect low inflation pressures, the tire sealant would help restore enough usability in the tire to get you to a repair station before a major failure of the tire. The tires, currently approved for use on Porsches, are designed to be more durable in case of a puncture, but they are still made of rubber.

How does a Porsche 912 differ from other Porsches?
suspention and its a 4 banger . Actually it was Porsche's attempt to enter the lower price market, with the P name and mostly VW parts including the four cylinder engine and VW suspension.
