that is a very loaded question that has so many aspects. basically though darwinism would dictate that the strong survive and the weak perish.

People who live on the street, have no shelter, food or enough money to pay for life needs.

On a short term basis any extra funds furnished to poor people will lift their standards of living. On a long term basis this will perpetuate the problem of poverty. Education leading to good paying jobs is one solution. With that said, poverty in many nations continues to exist. And, that is after every conceivable method has been applied to end poverty.

Because it is best to give material aid. When material aid is given to poor countries, they are able to use those materials like food, military weapons systems, clothes or building materials. They are like consumers, you and me. Because we can't use all the materials we produce in our country, we give them away as aid. That way our people are still able to keep producing materials and have work. If we gave money away to poor countries, the hierarchy would pocket the money and the poor people would get nothing to buy materials for which the money was intended. Look at our welfare system, recipients trade food stamps for drugs and cigarettes and their children starve.

Vicious cycle means it is the whirl pool which takes things get drowned within the mud and lead to disaster. Poverty is like this one. If poverty prevails, then no chance to keep the health in a good manner. So doing hard work to earn money becomes some how difficult. To get rid off this painful feelings, one is easily tempted to take the liquor and again the health goes down. Mental peacefulness goes off. So getting irritated to do anti social things sometimes if such a chance is available. Poor, insanitary surroundings and habits which once again spoils the whole structure of happy and healthy living. So poverty is to be eradicated as soon as possible. Children are to be educated right from their childhood about the savings and leading a righteous life with good habits. If one small grip is got, then this vicious cycle could be broken and one can come out of it. So philanthropists do as much as they can to make the society peaceful and meaningful. Even government too provides so many opportunities for the poor to realise their important role in structuring a golden society and to take our nation to a leading position amongst all the countries in the world.

Aids and malaria effect many people that are of laboring age. If half of the population is sick and unable to work, therefor unable to pay tax's, then government cannot provide public services such as school, and education increases self capital. Hence the capital of your population is lower.

Cyclical poverty refers to poverty that may be widespread throughout a population, but the occurrence itself is of limited duration.

Because the wealth is given to very few. It being human nature not to share something good, inequality is created and since the wealth is never given to the poor, so is poverty.

B. The high unemployment means that unemployment benefits will be high;

C. To pay the unemployment benefits the funds must either be generated by increasing taxes or by borrowing funds to pay benefits;

D. The economy of Indonesia as a whole is not a healthy one. Thus the problem in Jakarta is a nationwide one, usually meaning a small tax base to draw upon;

E. As an aside, Jakarta of course being the capital, has more media coverage than most of Indonesia, making their problem a well known international, high profile problem; and

F. Poverty can mean higher crime rates, poor health facilities, poor health among sectors of the population.

People who live in the urban areas might not take this seriously but little do they know that this also has a major impact on their standards of living simply because it effects the market systems in the economy. Business cycle begins to have a down turn due to poverty reason being is that there are lack of resources or not much money injected into the economy due to corruption with the government.

This is in reference to the Great Depression. As farmers grew more food to gain more money to cover the deflation of American currency, they decreased the amount that the food was worth to a point where it was no longer profitable to even try and sell it to large cities or they just could not afford it. Large cities were cut off from many crops because there was not enough profit in sending it. Therefore, the more food they planted, the lower the price went, and ultimately food stopped being sent to the big cities.
