Your answer is easy to say, but far tougher than it may seem. Begin by removing the outer fairing. There are 3 bolts at the windshield, 2 at the triple tree and at least one more on each side, depending on your year, accessed from the rider's side. Remove the windshield. Pad the rear side of your spots with a towel and work the outer fairing up past them. I am not sure why, but I have always found this easier standing at the front wheel, lifting the left side first and then twisting and rotating forward to clear the spot lights. Once clear of the spots, disconnect the headlight, or remove the headlight bulbs, depending on your model and year.

Now you will see the radio from the back side, tightly packed in and surrounded with every wire and harness on the bike. The radio hangs from brackets on either side. There are two bolts on each side connecting the radio to the brackets. Remove the bolts. This is the part that is not so easy. The clearance is rather tight. There is an access port to the outside of each bracket, but it is very difficult to use. Anyway, after an hour of cursing yourself for wanting to remove the radio to begin with and retrieving the bolts as they fall out and into the mess of wires below, pull the radio towards the front of the bike removing and moving wires and harnesses as needed.

Now, why remove the radio? Well, other than defect or upgrade, it is by far the easiest way to access the handlebar clamp bolts to adjust your bars forward or back.

Good luck and be careful not to over tighten when remounting the fairing.

If you can get some compressed air, try blowing air behind the buttons to see if you can dry it. It might be damaged permanently from water/chemicals, but there's a good chance that it will be ok once it dries out.

Okay, this might sound stupid, but I've done it before. Make sure the car is in park, if it is in the middle of park and reverse,it won't start. Make sure it has gas, and if nothing else, it's probably your starter or alternator. Take it to the mechanic.

Look in your owner's manual or on the fuse panel to see the correct amperage rating for the fuse. The fuse itself will have the amperage rating, but it is possible that someone (at one point in time) put the wrong amperage fuse in, so verify that with the owner's manual or the fuse panel.

If your are using a wire kit, you need to connect the blue and/or blue/white wire from the harness to the blue/white wire from your radio. Now if you have cut your wires you will have to locate the one wire that will turn on your factory amp.Good Luck!!!!

The radio fuse is in the fuse box on the driver's side in the engine bay, just behind the battery. On the fuse box lid you'll see a diagram showing the location of each fuse and its function. The radio fuse should be denominated "RDO" on the diagram and controls your radio and the front accessory power outlet (possibly other features, but I'm not sure). It is a 20A fuse and is yellow in color. You'll probably need some needle nose pliers to remove it.

There is a piece of sticker in the glove compartment with some number. That's the one you need to enter on the radio button. one question, did you take out the battery cable?
