Will a Renault Megane V Plate ignition barrel fit a Renault Megane Cabriolet R PLate?

You probably need new rear disc bearings. Once you install the new bearings, the warning light should turn off.

The probable cause of the brake lights not working on your Renault is the brake light switch. The brake light switch can be found under the dashboard by the foot pedal.

I have a 1998 1.6 RT and it is probably one of the most comfortable cars I have ever had. The 1.6 is slightly underpowered, especially with 4 people inside, but it does about 42mpg so can't complain. They don't stand neglect at all well, and some of them look very tired. I service mine myself, but I did need quite a bit of welding done to the car for the last MOT. The boot floor and the sills were both plated. Some parts are really quite expensive too. Exhausts for example are horendously expensive, and lots of bits you can only get at Renault dealers. Good enough car, but you would probably be better off with something like a Passat or even a Vectra. Not a Mondeo though, anything but a mondeo!

remove drivers side front wheel, plastic panel behind spring/shock. real fiddly but can be done with minimal swearing ! if you have A/c then the air may be a tad bluer!

when mine stuck, i climbed into the back removed the trim and manually pulled the release levers

I am not sure which Megane you have but I have adjusted them on my 2003 convertible. (old model). It was very easy, just underneath the front bumper was a screw with a torx head (star),beneath each fog light. I slackened it a turn or two, straightened up the fog light and tightened it.

Engine code K7M Use new bolts, tighten in the following stages 1. 20Nm 2. 100Nm 3. wait 3 mins 4. slacken bolts 1&2 retighten to 20Nm +110 degrees 5. carry out stage 4 for bolts 3,4,5 & 6 then bolts 7,8,9 &10 Sequence, 8 4 1 5 9 7 3 2 6 10 Bolts 9 & 10 are flywheel side of the engine.

up to 1998 they have a timing chain,clio 2 have timing belt due for replacment at 72,000 miles or five years.

It's a pretty effective immobiliser. What happens is the immobiliser unit sends a coded message to the engine management computer, and without it, it's a no-go situation. There's no amount of re-wiring going to bypass the thing, although I have seen a couple of websites which offer to 'unlock' your immobiliser so that it permanenly sends to correct code, without the need to see a keyfob again. Probably best to try a Google.

The engine immobilizer key switch is situated within the glove compartment.

where in the glove compartment? there is only the light fixture.

to reset the FOB you get in the car, shut the doors. Then hold the cetral locking lock all button down until the doors lock and unlock. The imobilser light goes solid red. At this point you have 10 seconds to click the new unprogrammed FOB. the doors will unlock and lock. Job done

DTi means - Diesel Turbo injection. RT is the spec level On the Scénic, RT is a good model. Bottom of the range is the RN, then comes your RT, then the luxurious RXE.

Remove the oil filler cap and there should be a dipstick attached to the cap

broken linkage inside the door, remove internal door panel and inspect all links from lock to motor

usually it means that one of the bulbs it burned out. Flashers in the circuit need a certain resistance to flash correctly, if a bulb is out there is less resistance in the circuit.

Just got my 51 plate drivers side done, by my local garage. This is what they did:

take off the front grill plate, undo the bumper on the side to be changed so it hangs down out of the way. then take the whole unit out from the front.

In short dont do it. give it to a garage.

Hi, If your hands are really small or you have access to child labour it is just about possible to squeeze in from the back. Take the plastic covers off around the engine and in the very small gaps in the front corners there is access to the back of the light unit. I use long nose pliers and a large amount of swearing to change mine.

I did this on a 1995/1996 ('N' reg) Clio 1.9 Diesel and I imagine it's very similar for the 1997 model (both are Mark 1's). Anyway, it's easy. At the bottom of the wiper there's a plastic cover which pivots up revealing the nut that attaches the wiper to the motor. Simply unscrew it with a spanner and you're done. Unfortunately, the nut in my case was completely stuck solid and I had to hacksaw it off. I then got another wiper from a salvage yard.

The reason I was removing the wiper was because I was replacing the wiper motor. This was also straightforward, a new motor being obtained from the same salvage yard - installation should be obvious (remove the plastic trim on the inside of the hatchback, unclip the power cable and unscrew the three bolts holding the motor in place; repeat in reverse order for new motor). One problem I encountered was that I'd earlier bought a motor off eBay, but it was from a J-reg Clio and the arm extending from the motor onto which you attach the wiper was too short.

you dont really wont to use 100% biodiesel on this vehicle i would suggest 10% max as more could damage injectors always ensure the filling station is biofuel regestered
