Changing an Idler Arm on a '99 Saturn is MIGHTY difficult, especially since they don't have one. The '99 Saturn uses a Rack and Pinion steering system, and as such does not have an idler arm.
How do you remove a passenger seat from a Saturn?
To remove the passenger seat in a Saturn SL2 2002 you need an E10 inverted torque socket. Saturn mechanic tells me this is a standard tool, but is not widely available because they have not been used for very long. I found a set of inverted torque sockets, which included the E10, at a tool crib store in North Hollywood, JM Tools on Sherman Way at 818 764-8973, for under $20.00 The socket works fine, the seat lifts right out after you unbolt the four bolts holding the seat in place. Now, if I can just figure out how to detach the mounting brackets from the seat adjusting rails, I can install my aftermarket racing seats. Darn things are riveted on, and I'm really not happy drilling them off. Oh well. OR you can remove the covers located at the four base feet and use a good old metric socket done it many times don't need any tools other than the ones you have.

There is a switch that controls where the wiper blades "park". It's inside the wiper motor assembly. In fact, most of the controls, except the switch on the steering column, are inside the wiper motor.
How do you replace the water pump on a 2001 sl2 Saturn?
i just did a pump on a 2002 SL2 5 min before writing this. its not hard . take right side tire off remove plastic splash shield . the small one closest to front on the bottom it was in part behind the main splash shield. just pull back the main shield and pop the small one out . take belt off and drain coolant . the water pump will be just under the ac compressor looking at motor from the wheel well to the right of the main pulley . remove the 3 bolts holding the water pump pulley. they are 10 mm. use a 10 mm wrench put it on one bolt let it rest on the top of the main pulley. this will give you resistance to break the other 2 bolts lose. the last one i put a screwdriver in the open holes and took the last pulley bolt off. then remove the 5 10mm bolts from around the pump. the top 2 bolts were easy to get from the top. then gently pry the pump out. you can also remove the ac compressor not disconnecting the ac lines . and do it from the top the pump was $24.99 at autozone good luck. this is for 1991 to 2002 s series all models.

THIS IS HOW TO FIX IT disconect battery Take the cover off the colum just behind the steering wheel then put key in the lock and turn it all the way on like you were tring to start it at the same time take a small pick or VERY small screwdiver and push in the hole just above the lock cylind toworards the back of were you think the back of the lock is remimber the lock is only 2.5 inches long the pick should push the locking tab on the lock down and just pull out you must hold the locking tab down as you pull out then take the lock to the dealer to get a new one to be keyed they must have the old one to do so and your keys cost between $30 to be rebuit and $70 for a new one get the new one

How do you replace the shift interlock on a 1998 Saturn SL1?
I don't know how to fix it perse, but we ran into the problem in my roommate's 98 SL2 where it was sticking and locking the key in the ignition. The problem was the actual mechanism where the shift lock connects to the gear shift was stuck or malaligned or something, if you pull out the cupholder and wiggle on it it seems to unstick it. I'm thinking a good cleaning should hopefully fix it permanently. I'm not even sure where to buy a replacement interlock.
Most wiper assemblies have a built in switching mechanism that keeps the wiper motor running until the blade is in the "home" position. If that mechanism fails and the wiper assembly is unable to detect the home position, the motor will just keep running.
It's usually easier to just get a new wiper assembly rather than fighting the old one.
Turn signal flasher 1995 grand am?
It is located behind the fuse block on the driver's side. When you open the drivers door you can plainly see the fuse block. (marked "FUSES") Flasher is behind that. You have to get to it from unde the dash. Take out panels under steering wheel. If you get your head down by the brake pedal you can see it. When I changed mine, I took out the little bracket that holds it in and relocated it to a lower place. I clipped the flasher bracket onto the little access door closest to the emergency brake (on the panel that you have to take out). Luckily the wires were long enough to enable this, so if you have to change it again, it's alot easier.
