check if the fan is actually turning on when it heats up. It wasn't in mine and all i had to do was wire the fan to the battery with a fuse and turn it on manually... now it doesn't overheat... there is probably a sensor somewhere that may be going out so check on that maybe... also what my mechanic friends told me is that the oil gets burned through the piston rings out the exhaust and that's why you have to keep adding oil. (this may be why the oil pressure is low) so just add more oil, look into the sensor for the fan and maybe the piston rings. that gets spendy so I'm not gonna do that one
Dont forget to check your radiator fluid. You may have a slow leak somewhere. Its important to check your hoses every once in a while for excess wear and tear. You can do this simply by giving them a squeeze (especially where the hoses bend and are secured) If you see lots of cracking, it wouldn't hurt to change them.
Also run your car in your driveway for a while with some plain cardboard (no print) underneath your engine and radiator. After about 20 minutes, turn off your car. After another 20 minutes take a look at that large piece of cardboard, and note the various colors of fluid you may have.
My Saturn had the overheating problem when stopped. After further investigation, it turned out that the electric cooling fan never turned on. The only way I was able to get it to stop overheating while stopped was to turn on the air conditioning, which forced a fan to come on to cool the AC condenser.
I found the root cause of the problem was the engine temperature sensor. The temperature gauge was accurate which threw me off until I found that there are two temperature sensors- one for the gauge, and one to feed information to the computer. After replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor, the problem was solved.
If the freon in my ac system becomes to low, my cooling fan will not come on and my temperature gauge rises. I recharged the ac system and the coolant systems stays in check. I guess the fan relay is joined to the coolant system pressure switches.????
Battery Charges reverse the polarity of your battery, so it is like reversing the reaction that occurs when you use the batteries. Your batteries will go out eventually though. because the reaction slowly stops

yes it can by removing the switch located on the door trim. however this indicates the cylinder is not in the Locked position. The cylinder must be fully turn counter clock wise. If it cant a new cylinder may be needed

How do you remove water pump from 2001 Saturn sc2?
1. jack the vehicle up on both sides, use jack stands if possible.
2. Remove Passenger front tire, along with plastic splash shield
3. Drain coolant
4. With serpentine belt still installed, loosen the 3 bolts on the water pump
pulley, don't take them all the way off, just loosen them.
5. Use a 14mm wrench to reduce tension on the serpentine belt enough
so you can slide the belt off
6. Remove the water pump pulley bolts, remove pulley, or let it rest on the
pump shaft.
7. Remove water pump housing bolts (6 of them) and discard the gasket
8. reverse procedure to reinstall new water pump

Yes. But the crank in the 91-92 won't fit the 93+. And the 91 motors are basket cases, avoid them.

Factory head bolts are 13mm hex, valve cover bolts on a DOHC are 10mm, and on a SOHC T45 torx. Timing cover is all 10mm bolts, crank pully is 21mm, timing components are 10mm, exhaust manifold is 13mm, intake you can leave on..... no, nothing special unless you have a SOHC and need a torx bit. :)

If you're certain that the sound is from the serpentine belt you should check the belt tensioner. A weak tensioner spring will result in slipping and a noisy belt.

How do you change a headlight on a 1994 Saturn sl2?
On some cars you have to replace the whole headlight, but in a lot of cars you replace just the bulb. At the back of the headlight, see if you can twist out the bulb socket. You may depress it while twisting it counterclockwise.
Apply 12 volts directly to the fan from the battery. If the fan works fine in that manner, then you have a blown fuse or defective thermal sensor. If the car has A/C and only one fan, then just turn on the ignition, and then turn on the A/C. The fan runs continuously when the A/C is on. If it is running, then the motor is good.
