The "New York Arms Co." was produced by Cresent for Garnet-Carter Co., Chattanooga, Tenn.. Most likely H&D Folsom Arms Co. who purchased Cresent in the late 1890's, as this was one of their house brands as they called, which were offered through hardware wholesalers and sporting goods firms throughout the country. This gun was manufactured by Anciens Etablissments Pieper, Leige, Belgium, c. 1905-1914. It should not be fired unless it is checked and approved by a competent gunsmith, so it's primary value will be as a mantle decoration - $150-$250. Value will depend on how good it looks over the fireplace. Large side hammers seem to add a bit to the decorator value of an old double, so maybe as high as $250 if you catch a buyer in a good mood. Old damascus barreled guns should not be fired unless a really-really good gunsmith has given it his approval and determined the correct ammunition (which you will NOT find at Walmart or any chain porting goods store).

This gun is made by Miroku and virtually the same as the Miroku Model 500, except more common since Miroku branded guns were not sold in the US. In good condition your gun might sell for $700 or more. Gunsamerica.com currently has a 12 ga for sale at $795 and the 20 ga in the same condition should be worth more since the smaller bores are less common. There are variables such as barrel length, condition, etc., that should be considered in determining price. You can search and find more listings for your gun by adding: side by side, SxS, or double barrel to Charles Daly Model 500. Some listings will have prices and pictures for you to compare.

Well, other than being made in 1963 you dont tell us very much about the gun. Trap, Skeet, Broadway Trap? How long are the barrels? What grade? How are they choked? MOST importantly, what condition is the gun in? As an example, a 12ga Broadway Trap with 30" barrels choked F/IM, in about 80% condition, would sell for around $900. A Field Grade Superposed Lightning 12ga with 26" barrels choked IC/M, in mint condition, would sell for around $1500. A Diana Grade Lightning in mint condition might reach $5000 or more depending on other factors.... that is a very general question, value is detirmined by rarity, condition, demand, caliber, so it is necessary to ask a question that contains discriptives related to the particular gun in question.

I own a Paragon double barrel and through research on the internet I found out that Paragon was a Trade name used by the J. Stevens Arms Co. and Hopkins and Allen in 1880`s. The nearest I got for a worth value was a single barrel in good or better SHOOTING condition was $100 and the double barrel was at about $175. Hope this helps somewhat and if I run on any updated research results I will post them here.

Those Ls are actually 1s. No one has ever come up with a good explanation of why many serial numbers in the 100000 - 199999 range used this odd stamp.

According to the 2002 edition of Standard Catalog of Firearms, your '97 was manufactured in 1930 and, assuming that it is a standard model (not a pigon grade, takedown, or any of the other model variations) has a value between $200 and $750, depending on condition. Note: this information is 5 years old and, due to the popularity of Cowboy Action Shooting, Winchester '97's are a popular gun and have likely increased in value since this book was published. You might want to visit the site "auctionarms.com" (a gun auction site) to get a more current estimate of value. To get the best appraisal, visit a local gunsmith and pay him to inspect and value the firearm.
Your winchester model 1897 shotgun which was made in the year 1931 will bring between 160-400 dollars for a shotgun showning between 10%-70% of its original finish and a good bore.

Trade name used by the H. & D. Folsom Arms Company on shotguns made for the Belknap Hardware Company of Louisville, Kentucky. Folsom was a sporting goods wholesale & retail company in New York. Actual manufacturer would be Crescent Firearms of Norwich, CT., or it may have been imported from Belgium. Typical hardware-store gun that hung behind the kitchen door or in the barn of every farm in the early 1900's.

I also have the J. Stevens Arms Co mod 258A 20 gauge shotgun. Mine had no stock until today,cut one out of some black walnut just for this old long barrel.The maker J. Stevens And model 258A 20 Gauge shotgun. I put a brown finish insted of blue on this one. It is a lot of fun to shoot too! Sorry i have no idea what it is worth.

Many films were shot on the backlots of Hollywood studios. Some were shot on location. Director John Ford shot many of his westerns in Monument Valley. It's in Utah and Arizona.

All the ones I have seen have been around 85 to 125, I bought one used and had to replace all the action parts and the firing pin parts, cost around 70 for parts so dont pay to much for one unless it is in good shape,

The Stevens model 52b dates to the mod-1930s. Stevens is the same company as Savage, and also sold rifles under the name Springfield (not to be confused with the Springfield Armory military rifle maker) and shotguns under the name Fox. The model 52b was also sold by Montgomery Ward under the Wards house brand "Western Field" as a model 36. To confuse matters, Wards also sold the Mossberg model 10 (very similar to the 52b) as a Western Fields model 36.

Plymouth was a trade brand shotgun made by Crescent Fire Arms Co and later by Davis-Warner Arms Co. It was distributed/retailed by H & D Folsome. Shotgun Markings also lists a hammer double barrel by an unknown Belgian maker and indicates the retailer was Spear & Co.

I also have a Daniel Boone shotgun, 12 guage. Do you know who made this gun? I need to replace the stock. The first would be worth $40-$80 and the second $150-$250, depending on the condition, if you can find an interested buyer (the name may generate a little interest). Finding a stock might be possible if you can determine the actual manufacturer's model. If there is a model number on the gun, it might be in Numrich Gun Parts' cross reference list, but all the Belknap guns listed are Springfield/Stevens/Savage models, so you might look for parts for their models 67, 87N, 87J, 94C, 94D, 120, 745, 940E, 947, or 947B.

Going to depend on a few variables. If it is actually a Russian-made SKS, such as Tula Arsenal, and not a Chinese or other country's copy; if it has importer marks (such as CAI for Century Arms); if all the serial numbers match; and condition. We're going to assume it is a standard-grade gun in typical condition, which would put it about $150. Really mint-condition Model 17 shotguns can bring $350-$400, especially if it has the solid rib. sales@countrygunsmith.net
