I don't know if this will help because my gun is a Flues. On the flues with the bottom of the receiver off. I layed the receiver upside down on my bench. I put the spring in and the hammer on top of it. I then cut a small peice of wood the width of the hammer that was about 1 inch high off of the top of the hammer. Then I positioned the receiver right at the edge of the bench so I could use a 6 ingh c clamp positioning the one side under the receiver on the underside of the bench. And the othe side on the small peice of wood placed on top of the hammer. I was able to easily compress the spring by tightening the c clamp until I had the holes lined up to insert the pin. I hope I have helped you. But as I said I have a Flues not an NID. Good luck. Glen.

Remove the butt plate. There is a hold in the stock under the butt plate. The stock bolt can be seen at the bottom of the hole. Obtain or make a screwdriver (or socket, if it is a hex nut) to fit the bolt slot. Be very careful to not let the screwdriver slip out of the slot when you are unscrewing the bolt or else you can go right through the side of the stock and ruin it.

Kessler, Silver Creek, NY, 1951-53. Valued at $35 to $90 according to the Blue Book.

Some people claim a .410 double is worth up to $500, but it would have to be like new with the original $15 price tag still attached. More likely to bring about half that much if still functional and not too badly worn. That 1915 is most likely a patent date and the gun could have been made in the 1950's or even later.

It is the same as a Stevens Model 94. Made for Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. between 1920 and about 1945. Value is $75 or less.

You read most of the information available right there on the gun. "Acier" just means "Steel" in French. Bayard, the mounted knight, and Demi Bloc are trademarks of the manufacturer, Anciens Etablissments Pieper (1905-1957) in Herstal, Belgium. The 32 gauge shell had a diameter of .501 and length of 2.5 inches. 3 inch shells were also available but few guns were chambered for this length and no 32 gauge shells are available in the US. They may still be found in Europe, but will probably be called 14 MM instead of 32 gauge.
