If you just want to disable the headlights for a few minutes, for example, while in a dark driveway, pull the handbrake up slightly. The daytime lights don't turn on when the handbrake is up. Daytime running lights = DRL 1. lower panel above pedals. a. U have to remove plastic attachments to drop panel. 2.U will see drl module on firewall w/ white & black connectors. ( green sticker on top will say "DRL"). 3. Pull only the WHITE connector out. ( make sure you secure it to something so it will not rattle). 4. put panel back in place and secure. 5. no more drl's.

Under the rear seat, in the middle, there is a trap door. Go through the trap door and just below it is access to the gas tank. Remove the sender unit (removing the fuel lines and electrical connections first) and the fuel pump is atatched to the sending unit inside the tank.
.. note this is for a sedan. In a wagon, go through the carpet in the back. There is an oval cover, remove it, the fuel pump is in there. real easy to remove. Of course unplug the power and fuel lines first.

The main fusible link should be in the fuse box in the engine compartment (driver's side) near the windshield washer fluid container. Its a black wire that runs between two terminals.

You should use drum polish to clean your drum set. Use a soft clean cloth to wipe the polish off the drums. Avoid using napkins and paper towels, they are too rough.

Transmission fluid on any automatic transmission is filled through the dipstick tube. You will be more successful if you buy or borrow a funnel with a hose on it made for this purpose.

A normal ticking is the fuel injectors opening and closing, a very loud ticking with bad mileage and poor performance may be a sticky lifter, aka hydraulic valve lash adjuster. If the latter try something like Marvel's Mystery Oil or another sticky lifter nostrum before launching into a difficuly and expensive replacement.

The 2008 Subaru Legacy runs on regular unleaded.

One possibility is that your gas filter was installed backwards. That happened on my sister inlaw's Ford focus. She went to the dealer for a tune up, and smelled gasoline for a couple of months. Later it actually started on fire.
