What kind of freon is needed for a 1992 Geo Storm?

Your 92' Geo probably uses R12 freon, but since they don't sell that to just anybody in stores they will probably want to sell you R134 freon. I recommend that you just take it to somebody who has an air conditioning license that way he can get you the R12 that it needs. I wouldn't put R134 in your air conditioning system because it might harm it. Plus R12 is very expensive now a days since they don't make R12 systems for cars anymore cause it pollutes the atmosphere, but to tell you the truth it cools alot better than R134. R134 is sort of like the replacement of R12. A can of R12 can cost up to $30, and most cars need around 2 or 2 1/2 cans.

Nissan Pick up engine while running sounds high or revvs high?

If your Nissan pickup truck's engine is running at high RPM or revving high, it could be due to issues like a faulty throttle position sensor, a vacuum leak, a dirty air filter, or a malfunctioning idle control valve. It is recommended to have a mechanic inspect and diagnose the problem to determine the exact cause and necessary repairs.

How do you deal with recurring efflorescence following sand blasting?

While working for South West Marine & Shipyard prior to painting bilges we needle gunned/hammer chiseled any and all undesirable deposits free of the surface. A citric acid wash would be administered to cleanse it all away.I am led to believe that the acidity not only cleans but nullifies any such deposit from recurring. Any attempt to inhibit a natural process is not entirely avoidable. Its a, "natural process" and more so than not, "common sense" nowadays is not so common.

What's the connection with lightning rods and static electricity?

Lightning, of course, is simply a huge discharge of static electricity. In its nature, it's no different from the spark from your finger to a doorknob; the difference is only in scale. The current flow is from the sky to the earth (or earth to sky depending on how you view it technically, which is immaterial to this discussion), via the path of least resistance--which for a number of reasons, is not always the shortest, or straightest. The air is a relatively high resistance medium, so the lightning will "prefer" most any solid object, such as house, tree, or human body. The current creates an enormous amount of heat in whatever it passes through, and this is generally what causes the problem, e.g., fire, explosion, etc. Thunder, like the "crack" you hear when your fingertip discharges to the doorknob, is the sound of superheated air expanding explosively. A living body, of course, like electronic devices, is further disrupted by the presence of the voltage/current itself. A lightning rod, then, is simply an effort to offer the discharge an easier path than through an object which might be damaged or destroyed by it.

salt or fresh water? how far away is the lightning? salt water is more conductive so you will get hurt worse in the ocean than at a lake. this all depends on how close the lightning struck the water.

How can you protect yourself and your belongings from mental and physical harm while living under the same roof as the abuser until you are finally able to escape?

You can't share premises with a physically violent abuser (batterer) and avoid harm altogether.

You can either confront him (usually involving the police and the courts), succumb to his demands (short term, inefficient, and counterproductive solution), or contract with him (which works intermittently).

Get items that cannot be replaced (photos, heirlooms, cherished Christmas ornaments, anything with sentimental value) out of the house and into either a storage unit or a friend or relative's house. This will take away much of the emotional involved in N's threats to destroy these items and help you focus on YOU and your own safety during confrontation. Keep a cell phone charged and on your person at all times when home with the N. Get a voice activated mini-recorder. Use it when N rages, and at least let N see that you have it. Mention (lie if you have to) that the last time he threatened to "[repeat some threat N made to harm you]" you got it on tape and will not hesitate to call the police and have him removed from the house should he get out of line.

The answers to this question vary as much as the degrees of the abuser's feeling of safety in doing harm or the depth of his fear. I am presently involved in this situation. Mr.B.'s fear is that society will learn he is not the man he portrays himself to be in the public eye. While I was submissive and tried for years to explain the effect his behavior had on me, now, I'm verbally combative any time he attempts to get my attention. I try to keep him confused and off-balance. He doesn't know the "safe" approach. He is confused about this new person and he fears that I'll focus the public eye on the reasons for my exit. Where I contributed to his N supply before, today I focus on diminishing his power in exactly the opposite way, in order to make the experience so totally in contrasting opposition to my normal behavior, that he has become very wary of what I might say next...or to whom. He's in unfamiliar territory. He suspects I may be capable of emulating his behavior back at him. As long as he is confused and unsure of his own safety, my bluff keeps him away from me. It's a downhome bluffing remedy. Baffle them and keep them off guard until you get out the door. Intimate exposure of their true self without directly stating a threat...which would foster competition and a real battle. I am challenging his bravado and depending on his real cowardice to get me through the next few weeks. So far, it's working to my advantage.

Are you at fault if you go off the road to avoid a head-on collision and hit a mail box?

assuming that the vehicle that ran you off the road is no where to be found , then yes, you are repsonsible for the mail box, and your collision coverage or umpd will cover your vehicle damage less your deductible......the property damage coverage under the liablilty heading of the policy will pay for the mail box and any other property not belonging to you, that was damaged in this accident...''at fault'' and "responsible" or ''liable''are really two different things, while you are not necessarily at fault (if the other driver is unknown) you are responsible/liable for the mail box......

What is the process for fixing a short caused by your turning lights?

Hey Ray==I presume the fuse is blown is why you think there is a short. You have to examine the wiring to find where the wire is shorted out. If you have a trailer harness, start there. If the vehicle has been wrecked. look there as body men have a habit of pinching wires in the repair. If not, you just have to follow the wiring harness and find out where it is. Goodluck, Joe

More than 1,000 people get struck by lightning every year in the United States, and more than 100 of them die as a result of the strike. Lightning is not something to toy with. If you are caught outside in a storm, always look for appropriate shelter. Do not take any chances -- lightning can use you as a path to the earth just as easily as it can use any other object. Appropriate shelter would be a building or a car (see the "lightning myth" sidebar at the bottom of the page to find out why). If you do not have anywhere to go, then you should avoid taking shelter under trees. Trees attract lightning. Put your feet as close together as possible and crouch down with your head as low as possible without touching the ground.

What county gets most deaths by lightning each year?

Your tree was struck by lightning will it die?

It is possible that the tree may die if it has suffered significant damage from the lightning strike. Trees can exhibit signs of distress such as wilting leaves, bark damage, and dieback. It is important to monitor the tree's health and consider consulting with an arborist to assess the extent of the damage and determine the best course of action.

Why are people struck by lightning?

People get struck by lightning for a number of reasons: The human body is is about 80 percent salty water. Salty water is a good conductor of electricity, and lightning wants to flow from the clouds to the ground through the best conductor. A human stands upright, and being a six feet tall conductor of electricity, provides an easier path for lightning to flow than just plain flat ground. Additionally, people tend to frequent outdoor golf courses or be on the open water while boating, and they just make good high targets for a lightning strike. Lightning, like water, takes the path of least resistance. Another reason that people get struck is that a lightning strike can be close by on flat ground without being a direct hit. The electrical current often travels across a persons feet from one foot to another and some of it goes through the body. This happens frequently on golf courses. While not a full direct strike the effect to a person can be severe.

Because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. In a lightening storm don't stand near tall objects such as water towers, light poles, trees, etc. Also, stay away from areas of water like swimming pools. Also, you don't want to be standing in a large open area. Instead stand 100 or so feet from a tall metal object. Lighting takes the easiest path to the ground so it reaches tall objects first. If you are the tallest object around then it will come after you. If you can't stand in the vicinity of a tall object, lie down on the ground.

Actually lightning strikes up, but that's another discussion.

How many innocent people are killed by murder in the U.S. each year?

In 2008 there were about 14,180 according to FBI statistics. However, it should be noted that some jurisdictions don't report to the FBI, and many felony manslaughters aren't tallied as "murders" in these DOJ reports. In the 2000's the US had lower homicide rates than any decade since the 1950's. Rates per/100,000 including homicides, justifiable homicides, terrorism deaths, and executions are...

A wire is to be stretched from the top of a building which is 10 meters tall to the second building which is 25 meters tall the buildings are 12 meters apart How long is the wire?

First of all, only if the wire is stretched between the 2 buildings roof edges facing each other, can this question be answered using the information given. (If the wire is stretched between the middles of the roofs, the information given is not enough, in case if we want to give a precise answer, we'd need to know how wide each roof is.) So, anyways, let's presume that the wire is stretched between the roof edges facing each other. The solution is easy if you know the Pythagorean theorem. Imagine a right triangle formed by the distance between the buildings (12 meters), the difference in heights (25-10=15 meters) and the length of the wire. The length of the wire is the hypotenuse, so the formula to calculate its length is a square root of (12 squared + 15 squared) = square root from (144+225) = square root from 369 which is approximately 19.209 meters.
