Again, expect to find a diagram of what fuse does what there as well.
One special note: sometimes the fuse comes out hard and they consist of two spade looking peices of metal that plug into the block connected with a colored piece of plastic, either red, green, gold, depending on the amp rating of the fuse. Often they can be removed with your fingers but sometimes very gentle wiggling with a small needle nose pliers is necessary. If you grab it too hard with the pliers it can break the plastic. Replacement fuses are available at any auto parts store and are cheap.
One final note: If the fuse is broken you can see it by looking through the plastic with a light behind....there is a thin strip of metal that usually curves around inside the plastic and if its broken and maybe blackened in there the fuse is bad. If the fuse is bad you may also have a bad lighter as something happened to short out the fuse. Try replacing a bad fuse with ONLY a fuse of like amps and if it blows again you probably need to buy a replacement lighter.....these are also inexpensive. Sorry for being so longwinded about such a simple thing but....there you are.

Hiya! Open the drivers door on your Chevy Beretta. Look at the side of the dashboard. You will see a plastic panel set in the dashpad. Yank that panel off. Underneath that are your fuses. The panel is held on by velcro so just pull off no tools needed. If the panel is missing you'll see the fuses straight away. Good Wrench.

Therefore, the following generic answer can be applied to any electrical circuit, whether in a vehicle, or in a building, whether direct current [DC], or alternating current [AC].
It sounds like you should first concentrate on the contacts inside the power outlet itself. Look for misalignment of the positive [center] and negative [perimeter] of the outlet, or possibly a piece of stray wire or metallic material that shorts when a plug is inserted.
Fuses [and Circuit Breakers] are safety devices designed and installed in electrical circuits TO PROTECT the conductors [wires] and other components from short circuit conditions and/or overload conditions which cause an extremely large flow of electrical current [measured in Amperes], which causes overheating of the conductors that results in damage to the insulation and the conductors.
And in a worst case scenario, the probability of a FIRE which could destroy the vehicle, house, or other structure in which the circuit is located.
