Any good machine shop can tell you if the rotors are a candidate for resurfacing or need replacing. They will know how to do this if they are reputable. You can get a new rotor for this car for $20 (rear) to $30 (front). I don't ever recommend having a rotor or drum turned, and I don't do it on my own cars. You need all the metal you can get to carry off the heat. I shall tell you the height of idiocy: The only place in town that has Volkswagen Beetle tires is Pep Boys. I wouldn't take a car to Pep Boys to get the ashtray dumped if I had any other option, but in this case I didn't. The worst idiot I have ever seen with an ASE patch on his shoulder was turning a brake rotor that had a huge chunk of metal broken out of it--by the time they were done the rotor was two inches smaller than it was when it came out of the box. That couldn't possibly have been safe to use--in addition to losing a lot of your braking surface and your heat-dissipation capability, a rotor that had suffered that much damage is a stress fracture waiting to happen.

The recommended engine oil for both 1.8 Liter turbo and 2.8 Liter VR6 is 5w30. I personally recommend 5w40 synthetic on the turbocharged 1.8 Liter.

There is no such thing as an oil pressure light on most cars. Some cars have oil pressure gauges, and all have a "Engine" light or "Check Engine" light with a picutre of either an oil can, or Engine Block

The oil pressure warning light usually looks like a little red oil can.

The check engine light looks like a little yellow engine.

This needs attention quickly or major engine damage can result.First you should have checked your oil level,these sometimes use a lot of oil.If you have reasonably fresh oil and filter ok.If not get them sorted.If you have low oil pressure due to a failing oilpump the hydraulic tappets will not open fully so the engine cannot breathe,hence the performance loss.

Doesn't make sense. You can get an MK5 GTI golf. MK5 is the 5th generation of VK Golf. GTI is simply one of the models.

The effect that you get when you apply voltage from a battery to water is bubbles. the bubbles are caused by the hydrogens and oxygens seperating. to get more bubles there are a number of things you can do. 1st if you add salt to the water it will bubble more as well if you attach two 9 volts together and add the salt you get even more bubbles and the last thing you could do is rap your wire around graphite rods which you can get out of pencils if you feel like shaving the wood off but any way i hope i answered your question.

a salvaged title on the car basically means the insurance company calimed the car as a total lost. either due to a major accident or theft. clear title means the opposite, the car has no problems on its history.

Depends which version!

The 1.8T was supplied on the Golf GTI as either a 150BHP or a 180BHP you can tell these appart from the badging. If the I in GTI is red then it is the 150BHP version. The 180BHP version is the Aniversary edition and has a different bodykit all together.

Not all of the above is true... The badging is a bad way of telling what power you will get. It is dependent by the year of the car. 2000-2001 had 150hp motors while anything past that had the 180hp motors. Boost was turned up to about 11.6psi from 8.7psi and a slightly different turbo was used.
