As a straight swap, No. Every few years VW changed the seat mounts let alone different models. But as far as retro fitting them, people do it all the time. People have put seats from Hondas, Toyotas, etc. in classic bugs. It's just a matter of making your own mounts. Just measure the width and height to make sure they will fit.

There isn't any way to add or check transmission fluid. The transmission is sealed. Look in your owners book to locate transmission, if there is no leaking then it is fine. You can always call a VW dealership if you are not satisfied with this answer.

I have an 2004 New Beetle turbo (not a convertible). It does really great in the snow EXCEPT when the snow is higher than the bumper, it does fine going straight but when you try and turn (say, pulling into your driveway) it has problems. Other than that mine has done well. Thinking about investing in some snow tires this year though.

The Mass Air Flow sensor mayneed cleaningor a leak in the hoses connecting it to the engine. I always try just resetting the code and see if it goes away first, may need to be reset a couple of times and then it stops coming back. If it persists and there are no obvious things like I mentioned, then it's time to go to a technician.

i guess that depends on what year it is. i think that they take a while to break in. i have a 99 beetle tdi and if the tires are correctly inflated and the fuel injector have been well maintained i can get 40-42mpg in the city and about 50-53mpg on the highway

I will take a guess that you have C.O.P ( coil on plug ) Un-screw the small screw that holds the coil, release the wire harness from the plug and just pull the plug boot off. It will come off even with the fuel rail there.

I would suspect a loose connection, faulty oil pressure sending unit, or a weak oil pump. This is assuming it is not low of oil. I would change the oil filter to another brand, (Purolator is a great choice) and make sure you are using the correct weight oil. More than likely this engine requires 5w20.

The VIN plate is located on the forward part of the dash so the VIN plate could easily been seen through the windshield of the car. The VIN plate was riveted a special bracket with unique 'rosette' rivets.

One of the signal bulbs on the left side has its ground terminal disconnected. The circuit is completed through the headlights and right turn wiring. Look for the following: - Corroded bulb socket - Loose socket holder (often the ground is made through the metal-to-metal contact) - Damaged wiring Turn on the headlights to find which bulb. That bulb won't light when the signal is turned on.
