Can strength training replace aerobics?
Absolutely not! I have thought that for years, and being 50 now I thought I was right...until, I started surfing 1 year ago. The way I work out is strong and fast, bench to flys and back again, very quike paced. Your heart controls everything, it needs it's own workout, the heart needs and deserves the attention. Work you way up to 120 beats a minute and maintain that for 20 minutes. When I started out, in the Gym, on a bike, heart rate up 118/120 for 10 minutes, the next day 11 minutes and so on till I reached the recommended 20 minutes. I feel better, surf better might even live longer ! "Get in shape to surf, don't surf to get in shape"

Concentric contraction = muscle applies force as it shortens
Eccentric contraction = muscle applies force as it lengthens
Types of Dynamic Exercise
Constant resistance = constant load throughout a joint's range of motion
Variable resistance = changing load to provide maximal resistance throughout a joint's range of motion
Eccentric loading = placing load on a muscle as it lengthens
Plyometrics = sudden eccentric loading and stretching followed by a concentric contraction
Speed loading = moving a load as rapidly as possible
Isokinetic exercise = exerting force at a constant speed against an equal force

Bottom line is more carlories consumed than burned. This doesn't mean eat what you want, though. A good rule is to eat about a gram of protein for every pound of body weight. You want to target LEAN protein sources like chicken breast, legumes, nuts, seeds, soy, and whey. Minimize saturated fat and especially sugar. Also, cut down on carbs, especially simple carbs, so eat plenty of whole grains and vegetables.

Will walking everyday make your legs larger?
If you mean muscle.. it depends how far you walk i guess. You should get a fitter heart and reduce the amount of fat on your legs by walking but unless you're clocking up serious miles you shouldn't build extraordinarily large leg muscles.
Like the above. Walking will help create lean legs. Strengh training with weights will cause muscle to grow and become larger.
How do you reduce fat on thighs and butts quickly?
To reduce fat anywhere on your body you need to generate enough energy to burn fat. The standard 3 sets of 12 to 20 reps will not work for long. Do 5 repetitions as quickly as possible of say SQUATS, take a brief pause, and repeat; do this for 15 minutes.
Never do anything to fatigue - this is counter-productive.

What workouts should you do at the gym to cut weight?
Weight loss and calorie burn through exercise is mainly about getting and keeping your heart rate up. And pretty much all kinds of consistent activites, like running, bicycling, swimming, dancing etc etc does a better job of keeping your heart rate up than lifting weights does. If you can lift weights at a high enough intensity and long enough to match the pulse rate and duration of a run, they you'll burn the same amount of calories. But odds are you can't. I can do around 1000 cal/hour during intense cardio, but find it really difficult to get past 600 while doing weight training. Keep in mind that the big thing is your diet. If you are overeating it's pretty much impossible to exercise hard enough to lose anything that way. A snack that takes 5 minutes to eat, like a cupcake, can take one hour to burn off.
If you insist, you should do fairly low weights and plenty of repetitions, exercises that boosts your heart rate and keeps it up consistently. Not something that's done in two big grunts and then over with.
How does muscle build after a workout?
According to my personal trainer, when working out muscles are torn down, in a manner of speaking, and when the body repairs them, it repairs them back stronger. Kind of like how a callous forms on your skin.
AnswerA good diet is also key in helping to repair and promote muscle growth.
How many cups of water its take to clean out your system?

How much water do you need to build muscle?
There is no universal answer for this question; however, staying hydrated is one of the most important things when working out and trying to build muscle. The amount of water one should drink depends on the person and activities, but it is much higher than most people assume when working out. One of the simplest ways to determine if you are properly hydrated is to watch your urine. It should be a very light color. This can be affected by vitamins or supplements, so do not be alarmed if your urine is bright yellow after taking vitamins.
How do you decrease muscle mass from weight lifting?
Proper strength training (in addition to proper nutrition and recovery) will increase your lean muscle mass. That is important to improve your body composition because the additional lean muscle mass will burn extra calories 24 hours a day. Protein is best after a workout. Muscles rip during exercise and the rebuilding process is what makes them stronger. That's when you need the protein. Also, protein before a workout can cause digestive issues during that workout. ______________________________________________________________________ Answer:
Creatine actually causes your muscle cells to absorb more water which makes them look bigger which gives us an illusion of extra size and mass. Effectively speaking, once you cut down on your creatine intake, the muscles would start releasing the excess water and you may end up feeling your muscles shrink in size. But, one good thing about creatine is that, it helps you gain that extra strength needed to do heavy workouts. Though it only packs water into our muscles, a properly administered dosage/cycle of creatine can help you in gaining weight and strength.
How long you should let your muscle heal before lifting weights again?
If you're really hitting your muscle hard with heavy weight and going to failure and using advanced techniques such as drop sets and forced reps and staying in the 6-10 rep range, 0nce every 5-7 days is pretty much the accepted norm...however there are exceptions based on training intensity, volume, and genetics...If your really hitting it hard you don't need to be doing more than once every 5-7 days because your body won't recover and then you won't make any prominent strength or size gains, if you're not training really intense but you're using alot of volume 20 sets or more per workout then you don't need to do much more than once every 5-7 days, but some people have great genetics and there body allows them do train twice every 5-7 days, I wouldn't recommend it for most, but for some it can be effective. If you're not training intense or with alot of volume and you're not really that sore the next day, then you could probably afford to hit those particular muscle as many as three times a week. Like monday, Wednesday, Friday.....you would never wanna train the same muscle two days in a row, with the exception of LIGHT ab training.
Does running after working out your legs help?
No, definitely not. It would cause more damage than good.
After a workout, your muscles would be tired. You must give them time to recuperate/recover and provide them with protein and other healthy food to grow. If you are going to run after a workout, your muscles would get fatigued. They are already tired after the workout and if you run they will get fatigued. This can cause catabolism and your muscles can shrink in size instead of growing.
Running/jogging is a good exercise for your legs but do not do it before/after a leg workout. Do it on a separate day. Do not club it with your leg workout.
How much weights should a teen lift?
Assuming that your skeleton is ready for the stresses of weight training (which usually occurs around age 16, in my opinion), you should concentrate on the fundamental exercises (namely, squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, dips, and chins) just like everyone else who is beginning a serious weight-training program.
It is very important to learn and use perfect exercise technique right from the beginning. Avoid dangerous exercises. Avoid using weights that are so heavy that you get 4 or fewer reps (until you get older, in my opinion). Do injury prevention exercises (such as L-flyes and side bends). Instead of letting your ego drive you into rushing your development, think of yourself as laying the foundation for a lifetime of productive training. Perhaps the best book to get you started correctly is Stuart McRobert's BUILD MUSCLE LOSE FAT LOOK GREAT.
