What attracts a male wolf to a female wolf?
Well you have to understand that it can be the other way around as well. The scent of the female wolf in heat can attract the male wolf just like the howl of both the male and female can attract each other. The scent, sound, body posture can all play a role in how one wolf is attracted to another. Rank does not matter if that wolf already has a mate or if they have both left the pack to start another. Omega's can even attract a mate so rank does not matter.

Dogs and wolves are the same species, so they are the same in most ways. The main difference between dogs and wolves is that dogs have evolved to be good at living with humans so they make good pets and wolves have not.
Five similarities are:
1. They both eat meat
2. They both use body language to communicate
3. They both have a keen sense of smell
4. They both cannot eat chocolate
5. They both are in the genus canis
The only mammal who eats wolves are humans!

They could kill a cub but would never risk attacking a healthy adult. One swipe can crack a mooses skull imagine what it would do to a wolf ;)
^ wrong, if you were talking about a fully grown grizzly bear than perhaps yes, the answer above would be right, but any other type of bear would stand little chance against a pack of hunting wolfs such as the grey wolf. the black bear for instance could be killed by a lone wolf, if the wolf made a clean sneak attack while the bear was off guard. The wolfs agility vs the bears is an obvious win for the wolf, as it is able to jump about much more than the bear.
How did wolves get their name?

it said, "dog gone it" and was called dog, for short (from yahoo not me)

Wolves are hunted because they are murderers who kill for fun. They destroy other livestock and cost farmers and ranchers lots of money. Yes they are beautiful creatures, but they need to be managed by the ones who are affected by them. Not by the ones who just think they are sweet animals who live in the cities. Lets see them for who they really are...murderers. WF
Wolves are hunted because they have thick hides, which are used for winter coats and other clothing. They used to be hunted for a good reason, which was keeping people warm, but they are now used for fashion wear.
Also, farmers would kill them for being pests and killing livestock. They also do have good meat.
Because of over hunting, poaching, trapping, illegal hunting, etc. Bottom line: Because of Humans.
Well lets see humans hunt deer, elk, moose, and lets just say all there prey. So that means that wolves are dieing of hunger, plus humans cut down trees and way to many(where I live they cut down pretty much all the trees in the neighborhood). But that's besides the point use humans just have to learn to us less of the resorses that are givin to us if we don't use as putch there will be more animals on Earth.
Yeah
Because stupid people like to go and shoot them for fun. That's exactly why the wolf is dying out in America. No offense to those who hunt wolves, but WHY?? Why are you being so DUMB? They're ENDANGERED, for goodness sake.
Sorry... but do you see now?
wolves are endangered because humans killed them for land which we waste
Wolves are endangered because though once they ranged nearly everywhere in the world, their numbers have been reduced by over three times what they use to be, and all but two species have actually gone extinct. The reason or this is because wolves used to be thought of as evil, people would hunt and kill many, Their habitat has been destroyed for buildings, roads, and other things. some of their prey -depending on where the wolf lives- has aslo been declining, which means disease and starvation.

What is a 6 stage life cycle of a gray wolf?
an egg then a baby then a child then a teenager then a young adult then an adult
Answer 2 (By ShadowWolfMW2):
Gray/grey wolf life cycles do not really have 6 stages, in fact its usually simply 3.
Pup, birth to 3-4 weeks, cub, 3-4 weeks to several months, and from then on they are adults.
Grey wolves are mammals, and the above answer said the first stage was egg. The only egg-laying mammals (called monotremes) are the echidna and platypus, both of which are native to Australia. The wolf is a placental mammal, meaning it develops inside its mothers womb and is born at a later stage of development. No eggs about it.
As a start, Wolves do not belong in the family of cats. They are more "Dog" like.
Look at the Latin name. Canis Lupus (Gray Wolf). Canis is Dog, Lupus is Wolf. This makes Dog Wolf or Wolf Dog the other way round.
A cat, or the Cat family start with Felis in Latin.
This just to "easily" distinguish between the different families of species.
Cats purr, where as dogs do not.
As of being in the Dog Family, Wolves do not purr.
The cubs might make growling sounds when playing and cuddling. This might be interpreted as purring, but is not the same.

Answer:
The last answerer was absolutely correct, wolves do not come from the CAT family at all and they are part of the DOG family so they normally do some of the things that dogs do, except roll over!
Although wolves primarily feed on medium to large sized ungulates, they are not fussy eaters. Smaller sized animals that may supplement the diet of wolves include marmots, hares, badgers, foxes, weasels, ground squirrels, mice, hamsters, voles and other rodents, as well as insectivores. They frequently eat waterfowl and their eggs. Wolves supplement their diet with fruit and vegetable matter. They willingly eat the berries of mountain ash, lily of the valley, bilberries, blueberries and cowberry. Other fruits include nightshade, apples and pears. They readily visit melon fields during the summer months. Wolves are omnivores, not herbivores.
Werewolves can be over-protective of the ones they love and care about, and when you do something to get them angry or upset, they can't control their emotions. They are loyal to friends and family. werewolves are very strong and can run very fast. Werewolves favor meat over fruits and vegetables.
