Your anti-theft radio code was on a card that came with your owners manual. If you don't have it you will need to get the code from your radio itself. Depending on year of your vehicle, your radio will display the code, or you will need the serial number on the radio in order to get the code. Try this first - turn your car key to the ON position. While you radio is OFF, hold down the 1 and 6 buttons and turn the radio on. More recent models will display the anti-theft radio code, if it does, write it down. If yours does not, you need to remove the radio and get the serial number from the sticker on the radio.
My experience is for a 1996-98 Acura TL and the easiest way to remove the radio is from the front. If you have a 1999-2001 try the free instructions from the website cdplayerrepair.com/tl.htm. If you have a different year Google "remove acura radio" to see what instructions you can find. Assuming you have your anti-theft radio code, first disconnect the negative side of your battery.
To remove the radio from a 1996-98 Acura TL, remove the plastic wood trim from the dashboard surrounding the radio. To do this open the glove box, reach up inside and push out on one of clips holding the wood trim, as it comes loose grasp the trim from the front and carefully pull the trim until each clip unsnaps from the dash. The attached Heater/AC control panel above the radio comes off with the wood trim, so just unclip the 2 wire harnesses from the back and set trim panel aside.
Next, using a Phillips screw driver, remove the 4 screws holding the black plastic radio frame into the dash, then pull the radio forward to remove it. Disconnect the 2 wire harnesses and antenna cable from the back of the radio to complete the removal. If you are putting in a replacement radio, just loosen the two small bolts holding the radio on the back of the frame, and then slide the radio out of the frame.
Reverse the steps to replace the radio.
After you reconnect the battery you need to enter your anti-theft radio code. It was on a card that came with your owners manual. If you don't have your anti-theft radio code, you need the serial number from the sticker on the radio (see the above instructions for removing the radio from a 96-98 Acura TL). Call Acura at 800-382-2238 and they will verify your vehicle ownership information, ask for the VIN number and radio serial number, and if it all checks out they will give you the radio code - for free.

How do you replace the front and rear rotors on a 2000 Acura TL?
They are pretty easy. I just did my friends front rotors and pads on an 01' Acura TL's. Pull all wheels off. Take pads off shoud be a 14mm to take the calipers off. Compress the calipers. Hang up your calipers w/ wire or string so they are not hanging by the brake line. Next look on the back side of the carrier. There will be 2 17mm bolts holding a the bracket for the calipers and pads. If you have trouble breaking them free, use a brass or dead blow hammer on the wrench. (You will be doing the same to tighten the bolts back up.) Next there will be 2 Phillips head screws on the rotors. Now these can be a royal pain to get out w/ out stripping the head of the scews. I used an impact tool w/ a hammer to get them out. The craftsman one runs about 30 bucks. (It is not an air tool. It just looks like an oversized screw driver. It is spring loaded, so when you nail it w/ the hammer you will want to twist at the same time and it will break the screws loose.) Once those screws are out pull the rotors off. Degrease the new ones and reverse the process. Make sure you use the impact tool to put the screws back in. Hopefully the rotors come w/ them.
If you change your rotors I suggest changing the pads also.
This was for the fronts on an 01 Acura TL. I do not know if there is a difference between the years. Pay close attention when you start to pull the rotor off. Should be the same process for the rear I do not know. The only thing that might be different on the rear is that the bearing is in the rotor. Check the back rotors to see what they are. (If bearings are in the rear rotors, buy Bendix rotors for the rear. They come w/ the bearing carriers already in the rotor so you do not have to press them in. Buy grease and rear seal for rear rotors. Pack the bearing w/ new grease, put seal in back or rotor, make sure it is flush and put the rotor back on.) I mainly work on BMW's, and VW's.
