How to replace alternator on a 2003, Ford F-350, 6.0 ltr.

It generates electricity to chrage the automobile battery.

If it's properly connected, it's just worn-out. When you get it replaced, make sure you get a new one and not a rebuilt alternator. I had a brand new Bosch alternator put in my 1995 Skylark about 4 years ago and it's worked like a charm ever since.

Checking the Autozone website the alternator for the 6 cylinder Solara is $132.99. That's with your core in exchange. For the 4 cylinder it's $139.99.

The part may be more or less expensive at other auto supply stores. Check their websites or just phone. If you're really pressed for cash there's always your local autowrecker. The price is generally about half of retail and you sometimes have the fun of removing the part from another car yourself. ;)

if you boost charge a battery you should discinnect it from the car.

if not you may burn out the alternator

If there is a small crack in a wire, a temporary short caused by water, a worn graphite brush, any of these can cause a transient malfunction.

yes..... Simply disconnect the positive and negative cables from the battery,then clean the posts on the battery and the inside of each terminal with a post cleaner (inexpensive tool found at parts stores)or a wire brush until both posts and both terminals shine like new. Then just connect the battery charger directly to the battery posts red goes to positve(+) black goes to negative(-).

Once the charger is finished charging the battery then turn off the charger and remove the connectors..then put the battery cables back on the battery and try starting the car...

Check the 175 amp mega fuse on the front of the engine compartment fuse panel. Replace this if it is blown. Check for shorts to determine why the fuse is bad to begin with.

The voltage regulator is not working properly.

The phase sequence must be the same

There must be too much amperage going through the wire. Either it's the wrong gauge wire (unlikely), or there is a problem where the charging system is putting out too many volts/amps. Check it with a multimeter.

first you must learn to speak English

it is located on the bottom right if you are in front of the truck. make sure that you remove the battery cable the positive side go to the starter and the alternator before you do anything else. You will need to remove all of the drive belts (A/C, power steering, then alt belt). You will need to jack the truck up in the front and secure it on jackstands. Remove the 3 wires on the back of the alternator (2 10mm nuts and one plug connector). Then there are three bolts to hold the alternator. One on top in the back, one on the bottom in the front and one on top in the front (assessable from the top).

Pull the alt loose. You may have to remove your sway bar to get it out.

In is reverse of out.

Make sure you take you battery to get it charge up. Autozone- O' Reilly's can chage the battery up.

There is none on GM cars

Alternator is located on the front left lower side of engine, And yes it is a $#%@# to get at. I removed the front bumper asembly to gain acces to mine. After removing it took about 15 mins to change..

The regulator is not making a good ground to fender/firewall, or there is a good chance of broken wire between Regulator and Alternator. there is either 2 or 3 wires between them and possibly were mixed up, should be Field, Stator, and or Bat, allso some Alternators have ground wire be sure its in the right place or you may blow your new Regulator

This is not correct instructions. This link is for the DOHC which has the alternator location at the front of the car. The SOHC alternator is located by the firewall. It's different in the way you remove it.

If the voltage regulator is defective then yes that will turn off the charging system light when you install a new one. Most voltage regulators are built into the alternator on modern cars so you have to replace the alternator. Have your charging system tested at any auto parts store. Most will do it for free.

My 2004 alternator on the V6 has three fasteners that have to be removed to remove the alternator. The pivot bolt,the stay bolt and the adjustment bolt. Once you loosen the pivot bolt and the stay bolt, the adjustment bolt can be turned back to loosen the belt enough to remove the other bolts for alternator removal.
