Pull the passenger side tire, and place a jack stand, remove the plastic apron from under the wheel well, and remove the belt, there's two bolts one's easy one is a pain the neck, once you get it loose, you can remove the bolts with the use of a socket and your fingers, take the altnator out through the bottom/wheel well, remove the alt plug and batter connector at that point, and hook up your wires and weather shield before you reinstall. takes about an hour or so to remove 30 mins to go to autozone and an hour to reinstal depending on your kids driving you nuts

A bad blower resistor will not make a vibrating noise by itself. Carefully remove the blower resistor (under the dash at the passenger side right foot area.) check to see that it is not hitting the fan. PS a bad blower resistor usually means that the blower will only operate at high speed. Usually a small fusible link on the resistor ceramic opens. Can be replaced with a small link of unmelted solder.

First, you need to take off the belt to the power steering pump. To get it off, you need to open two screws that hold the pump in place, and then slacken the belt with the tensioner screw.
When that belt is off, you do a similar thing with the alternator belt. Loosen the bolts that hold the alternator in place, and you can move it a bit so the belt slackens.
Same thing in reverse to get it back on again. The belt should move a centimeter or so when properly tensioned. You can't go by the slack of the old belt, since worn belts are usually way too loose. If the belt slips (and starts "screeching"), it's too loose. You may need to tighten it a bit after it's been "worn in".

Tips - for easier access, first remove the jack assembly, and the passenger side tension rod.
1. Disconnect the battery. 2. Release tension from the serpentine belt by loosing the bolt located to the left of the power steering pump (2.5L) - uses 15mm socket. 3. Belt should now easliy lift off of the alternator pully. 4. Unbolt the alternator - 15mm socket. 5. Disconnect the 5 power connectors - 7mm and 10mm sockets. 6. Remove alternator. 7. Install new alternator by reversing previous steps.
Have a new battery on hand, most likely the old one will be dead as well. Also, the serpentine belt must be VERY tight. You shouldn't be able to flip the belt over, or flex it much at all. If your engine squeals at low RPM's - tighten the belt.
